Programme of study for Bachelor degree
Inspiration
• The colours that inspired this project
are primarily gold and different
shades of brown. The gold represents
the jewels worn by the queens of
royalty in Africa, while the brown
shades represent the different skin
tones.
•
• Most queens were
situated in the
western and
northern parts of
Africa. Therefore,
the Nigerian
[western] and
Egyptian
[northern] queens
will be my main
inspiration of this
project.
More inspiration
• I’ll be using Africa as one of the main aspects
of the project. It is known as the motherland so
I’ll use it as the face of a queen. The lower
eastern and southern parts of Africa will be the
face while the top western and northern will be
the hair and headwrap/crown to represent a
queen. I’ll then add on jewels and crown that’ll
be the colour gold while the face of the queen
will be brown. This is to emphasis the
jewellery and her crown.
Idea generation
I decided that making a portrait could be used
in a museum in appreciation for Black History
Month. The idea was to use Africa and turn it
into a face, one of a traditional African woman.
Outcome
During the month of February, Black
History Month, an African-based portrait
is placed in a museum and sold. Not only
does it show appreciation towards black
people, but it also encourages many more
artists to speak on and create more art
that emphasises the beauty of Africa
Project 2
Background
• Sports go back to about over 3000 years
and was initially preparation for war,
training in hunting. Everything goes
through modernisation, therefore so did
sports. That’s why there are now sports
that still include using weapons, for
example archery.
• There was a winged goddess of victory
with the name Nike. Athletes that
desired to win would worship her.
Today, her name has become a huge
brand for sports. Some people still
praise and worship her.
• Most played sports include basketball,
football, rugby, tennis, athletics (track),
swimming and many more
Inspiration
• The are so many athletes who
have refined the sports they
played. Athletes like Cristiano
Ronaldo, Kobe Bryant,
Maradona, Pele, Usain Bolt,
Michael Phelps and many
more have all become an
identity for the sports they
play, which shows they’ve all
achieved something really
great.
• Creating a videogame like
the Olympics is what I’m
going to do, but instead it’s
with legendary athletes and
their stories for each athlete
in their sport. They get to
choose an athlete of their
choice and live their life in
the sense of getting to choose
certain choices and teams
within their journey.
The colours that I’ll be using for the cover of
the videogame are mainly yellow and purple
because this is the Lakers jersey that was
worn Kobe
Idea generation
• This videogame called
All Stars will be created
in 2023 and only
published in 2024, that’s
why my choice of Kobe
Bryant and his jersey
number 24 would be
perfect if my game will
be published in 2024.
• I will have two other athletes,
swimmer and footballer that’ll
surround Kobe and the 24.
Outcome
This game will
be advertised
on billboards
beside sports
stadiums.
This’ll get to
the right target
market
It’ll also be advertised
on social media
because most young
people are there and
it’ll become viral very
quick
Project 3
Background
• Drip: a slang term used to describe
“fashionable”, “sexy” and “confident”.
• For this project, I was inspired to do a
photoshoot based on UK drip.
• UK drip falls under streetwear, containing
baggy clothes, puffer jackets, sneakers,
balaclavas, Nike tech fleeces, scarfs from
Burberry and Nike or Adidas gloves.
• UK drip initially started in the UK, England,
and was worn by a lot of artists, mainly the
men like Central Cee, Digga Dee, Russ
Millions and Tion Wayne. Obviously, these
artists are role models to many young people
and it became a trend and a lot of people
across the world started dressing accordingly
to this fashion style.
Inspiration
• I decided to do a photoshoot on myself and create a front cover magazine for
Vogue. Scenario was that they wanted to focus on the UK drip fashion sense.
• The type of photoshoot vibe I went for was a dark room and a main
focus/light on the model (me).
• i decided to go for a full black outfit so that the colours I use to edit my
photos will be dark cool colours like a blue greyish colour.
Idea generation
• Step 1: ensure you’ve got an:
• Empty toilet paper roll
• Tape
• An extra phone with the torch/flashlight on
• A stand (anything) where you will place the
phone
• Step 2: take your tape and cut strips
(maybe 4 or 3) and place it on the toilet
roll then place it on your phone, over the
torch
• Step 3: place the phone onto or into your
designated stand
• Step 4: turn off room lights so that the
torch light shines brightly
• Step 5: take your pictures using another
phone

UK DRIP
&
MUSIC
I created a cover for vogue
that’ll be published in
England.
I used the app called
Prequel to edit my photos
to turn them into a bluegrey
tone since my outfit
was all black.
For the words on my photo
in the middle, I used the
Century Schoolbook font.
Why did I choose the study
and career path in mind?
Growing up, I was always a huge fan of
photography, whether taking the photos or
being taken. I also grew up with being very
artistic from a very young age and grew to be
still very fond of art. I chose to study this
course because I do believe I have the
qualities to succeed and make the university
proud. I chose this course because design,
creating new things, marketing are all things
I’m passionate about and taking this course
will help me become better at it. The career
path I have in mind is me becoming a graphic
designer, working with big brands and
helping them create very effective sales,
marketing and rebranding.
How will this course help me
achieve my further study and
career aspirations?
This course breaks down everything such as
marketing, designing and photography that
will equip me and better me for my career
aspirations. Taking this course will help me
learn new and better ways to design and
create new things and still be able to be
versatile and attractive to the target market.
Taking this course means I will be
surrounded with many more creative around
me, so they will also encourage me and
motivate me to do better and succeed. This
course will equip me with better techniques
at being many things such as a salesman, a
designer and brand ambassador. This course
will help me become all of these which will
help me and give me an advantage to
becoming a Graphic Designer
