The Black Academy Institute is
offering a comprehensive business
course designed with home
educators in mind. The course can,
however, be used by anyone who is
looking to learn the ins and outs of
starting and establishing a family business.
Many topics will be covered in
this course starting from the bare basics
to the more complex concerns. It
is our goal to take the guesswork out of
starting a business and empower the
whole family to enjoy the process together.
By beginning with foundational
instructions, your students will have a
head start on the simplicity of imple-
implementation that will prove to be a
no-brainer for most. In this course, the
learner must be able to learn about
business strategy and also understand,
the importance of having a business
strategy, Types of levels of business
strategy, How to create and carry out a
winning business plan, 10 steps to build
a successful business strategy, Importance
of branding your business, Tips
for creating a brand, having a successful
brand and so on... To help the
learner have good knowledge and experience
in business strategy we will
break down every aspect of the course
in our reading material. Here is just a
ing a business strategy. Allows planning.
The main reason for designing a
business strategy is that it not only allows
you to define what the objective of
your organization is but also how you
can achieve it. Establishing a work
methodology is necessary to know
what expectations you will be able to
meet, for how long, and with what resources
you have. Facilitates forecasting.
Establishing a good business strategy
can help you better deal with
unforeseen events and difficulties. If
you have previously defined your action
protocols, contingency plans, and corrective
methods, it will be easier to re-
type of complications. Promotes stability.
Creating a business strategy provides
stability to any business project and also
helps increase the success rates of your
purposes. Although when thinking about
the business strategy the elements of organization,
logistics, structure, and management
are usually considered, a true
business structure requires the development
of plans and schemes for the various
areas that make up your business.
Improve understanding of your company.

Some studies show that Black students
are more likely to be disciplined

likely to be taught by a White teacher
than a Black teacher. This is even true
when they're in predominantly Black
schools. And it does not just discipline
that Black students face—it's a lack of
resources, exposure to harmful toxins,
and low expectations from educators.
Black parents have a choice: do
we send our children into this hostile

clear.
Homeschooling has become a
popular choice for African American
families for several reasons.
Chief among these is the need to
protect children from racism and
white-washed history lessons in public
schools. African American children
are often forced to sit through classes
that erase their culture and history or
portray them negatively. By homeschooling
their children, parents can
give them a more accurate view of
their history and identity.

There are also many online communities

find support and advice from other
black parents who homeschool their
children. These can be a great way to
connect with people who understand
what you're going through and can offer

How can homeschooling have
such a positive impact on the African
American community? Well, it all
starts with education. In America, the
public education system was designed
to fail Black and Brown children.
From underfunded schools to a
curriculum that doesn't accurately reflect
our history, it's no wonder that
many Black children end up falling
behind.
But when parents take the time to
educate their children at home, they
can create a curriculum tailored
specifically to their needs. And not
only that, but they can also instill important
values and lessons that will
stay with their children for life.

Imagine for a moment that you're lost in the
woods. What would you do? How would you find
your way back home? Survival skills are more important
than you think.
In today's world, it's not enough to know how to
start a fire or build a shelter. Survival skills are
about so much more than that. They're about being
prepared for any situation, no matter what
might happen.
That's why survival
skills should be an essential
part of your life.
Whether you're out camping
or hiking or just stuck
in a traffic jam, there's always
the potential for
something to go wrong.
And when that happens,
you'll be glad you know
how to survive. Survival
skills are essential not only in an emergency but in
everyday life as well. They can help you stay safe
and prepared for anything, whether you're
stranded in the wilderness or caught in a rainstorm.
There are many different survival skills that
you can learn, but some of the most important
ones are fire-building, shelter-building, navigation,
and first aid. These skills can help you if you're
ever lost or stranded or need to get yourself and
your family to safety in an emergency.
In a time when natural disasters are happening
more and more often, it's important to be prepared
for anything. Survival skills can give you the tools
to stay safe and make it through whatever comes
your way.

best way to learn, however, is
to practice. Get out into the
wilderness and try out your
skills. The more you practice,
the more prepared you'll be if
you ever need to use them.
What Are the Basic Survival

emergencies, both big and small. You never know
when you might find yourself in a life-or-death situation,

AMERICAN HISTORY IN PUBLIC
EDUCATION
Black children must see themselves
in their history books. They should be
taught about the great contributions of
people who look like them. However,
that's different from what is happening
in public education.
Black history is often reduced to a few
token paragraphs. Or, it's presented
so that white students can understand
tory, which can lead to a misrepresentation
of important figures and events.
However, homeschooling allows parents
to supplement or replace standard
educational materials with more
accurate content.
Parents can use African American
History Month to expand on the standard
curriculum and provide a more
holistic view of black history. This can
include exposing children to primary
sources, such as speeches, poetry,
and music from the Civil Rights Movement,
and discussing how black history
has been suppressed or erased
from public memory.

THE IMPORTANCE AND IMPACT
OF SHARING TRUE HISTORY

You might be wondering why it's important
that we share true history with students,
not the remnants or altered versions
often found in public schools. And
the answer is simple: because knowledge
is power.
If students are only given a partial or

Setting Yourself Up To
Succeed
Some days you might feel the “blahs”, go ahead and get
ahead of yourself. Always get up early. Take time to think
about what your daily goals will be. This isn’t just about instruction
in academics, but also how you will allow the children
to help YOU today, and what that looks like. After breakfast
can the four year old help you by putting the silverware
in the dishwasher? Why yes she can! This activity serves as
a great math activity because sorting and counting is involved.
Chores can be a fun learning activity that the children look
forward to. Enjoy their willingness to help and reward them
for the work that thry have done.
Just a thank-you goes a long way with children.
Take out and prepare activities that the child loves to explore
and play and experiment with. Set a few things out and let
them self govern along with you supervising them.

ON THE BENEFITS OF CHORES
Imagine if children were to view chores
in a different light. Perhaps more like
their helpful contribution, versus an inconvenient
burden. There are many
ways of doing this in which it is sometimes
necessary to try a new approach
when the message isn't coming across.
It is unfortunate that parents oftentimes
have to compete with what the world
presents to their children, which is why
it is very important to monitor and direct
what they have access to. That being
said, it can sometimes be a difficult task
to subvert the message that the world
puts out there concerning children and
chores. In some cases, the world has
thoroughly subverted parental rule concerning
these matters. Chorepals aims
to restore order with our unique and entertaining
approach to doing chores.
Students will begin to see chores in a
totally different light and at the same
time gain a full understanding of how
this benefits them in the long run. Many
years ago, some of our students wrote
a children's book called 'A World Without
Chores'. Our current students will

Outings and travel can also be a great

In addition, when you're out and

teach your child in a hands-on way.
They can explore, ask questions, and
learn in a fun and interesting way.
One of the great things about homeschooling
is that you can design your
curriculum to be anything you want.
And if you want to incorporate travel
and outings into your student's homeschool
experience, you can do a few
things to ensure it's effective.
First, you'll want to ensure that the

Second, you'll want to ensure that the travel and outings
are structured in a way that allows plenty of learning
opportunities. This means choosing destinations that offer
educational programs, museum tours, and other opportunities
for hands-on learning.
And finally, you'll want to ensure that you take advantage
of any downtime during travel and outings to sneak in
some informal learning opportunities. This could be anything
from reading aloud from relevant books while on the
road to discussing what your student has seen and learned
during your travels.
When you take your homeschooled student on an outdoor
trip, you can do a few things to ensure they're engaging
with their surroundings and getting the most out of the
experience.
For one, please bring a journal or notebook and encourage
them to jot down their thoughts and observations
throughout the day. You could also pack some binoculars
so they can get a closer look at birds and other animals. Or,
if you're visiting a museum or historical site, see if you can
find a scavenger hunt sheet to help them focus on specific
things.
Another idea is to play some educational games during
your travels. I Spy always a classic, or you could try something
like The Geography Game, specifically designed to
teach kids about different world cultures.
And finally, remember to take plenty of pictures! You
can use these as part of a post-trip debriefing session,
where you talk about everything you saw and learned.
