4 Cleanroom: Workshop CLEANROOM-JOURNAL
OPEN-AIR WORKSHOP
Top ideas that stay down-to-earth
During the Corona pandemic in the
summer of 2021, Cleanroom Future
created a new concept to provide more
safety during face-to-face seminars: a
two-day exclusive open-air workshop
in the Swiss mountains at an altitude of
1,200 metres.
In the Bernese Oberland, where the
air is particularly pure and good for
thinking, cleanroom managers and
suppliers find freshness, sunshine and
far-sightedness at a rustic farmhouse -
ideal conditions for achieving the best
possible results from the workshop in
exchange with other participants and
the speaker Frank Duvernell.
The topics for the cleanroom managers’
workshop range from the recruitment
and management of employees
to purchasing strategies and the design
and operation of cleanrooms. Particular
focuses are the handling of cleanroom
purity, and the improvement of personnel’s
behaviour and of the clothing
systems.
The workshop for suppliers, on the
other hand, centres around topics for
greater success in the cleanroom sector.
The main focus is on increasing the
value of products and services, their optimal
positioning with clean room managers
and increasing market activities.
The knowledge acquired in the seminar
is discussed and deepened in a casual
atmosphere with hearty delicacies and
mountain spring water. The ideas and
inspirations offer high utility for im-
mediate implementation in day-to-day
business.
Overnight accommodation is organised
in the valley, in a hotel typical of the region,
and a shuttle service ensures safe
transfer to and from the farmhouse. The
ride through the picturesque mountain
landscape to the farmhouse already creates
the mood for a way of working that
can be not just effective but also a fun experience.
The beneficial mountain air and
the open expanses of the landscape add
an extra dimension to this learning space.

OPEN-SPACE WORKSHOP
Ideas for decision makers
Different technologies place different
demands on their production environments.
But a decision that is now regarded
as up-to-date can soon run into a
dead end with excessive costs and useless
equipment. Projects for a pure production
environment can very quickly become
oversized. Especially when regulatory or
customer requirements are over-fulfilled
as a precautionary measure. Approaching
the projects with restraint and thinking
from the lowest requirement to the highest
requires specialist knowledge and
experience. The participants get to know
both in our open-air workshops. Important
insights support the decision-making
processes for planning, construction,
qualification and operation and
should ultimately ensure greater efficiency
and cost-effectiveness.
FOR PLANNING, CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN
Controlled area – cleanroom: Learning for the future
The question is, when is it sensible to install
a controlled area and when a cleanroom?
Is it meant to be just an entry-level
solution or a long-term measure? What
costs and risks can arise for the warranty?
How can production capacities be
flexibly configured and how can existing
production be upgraded without interruption?
The range of topics is being expanded by
the innovative energy with which cleanroom
technology is processing. Useful
and disruptive switches are presented.
The day is rounded off with an AMC
workshop. AMC stands for Airborne
Molecular Contamination and comprises
all gaseous impurities which may be
harmful for certain product surfaces and
are therefore undesirable in those clean
rooms. Increasing technologisation is
increasing demand for and dealings with
AMC processes.
There is a need for solutions arrived at by
exchanging experiences.
Focuses:
• From controlled area to a cleanroom
• Requirements for cleanroom technology
• Flexible solutions for renovation and
new construction
• Innovation in cleanroom technolgoy
• Challenges with AMC
