2022 Girls in STEM Final Report

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
In an all-girls learning environment, Girls in STEM provides a safe place for girls to ask questions, take the
lead, and build confidence. In 2022, Keystone Science School’s Girls in STEM program consisted of two
overnight retreats on our campus.
Each session is focused on motivation, reflection, and introducing girls to new career opportunities in
STEM. Girls interact with female professionals, our STEM Mentors, who share their journey within STEM
careers and potential careers girls may wish to pursue.
PROGRAM GOALS
• Inspire young females to build their confidence to pursue or continue studies in STEM subjects.
• Encourage teamwork and leadership skills through group challenges related to STEM.
• Incorporate the engineering design process into interactive, engaging activities with real-life applications.
• Expose participants to STEM-related careers and professional females in those roles.
• Promote reflection through journaling and meaningful conversations.
