Folsom has a new interactive, all-you-can-eat restaurant at 510
Natoma Station Drive, Suites 100 and 200. Tao’s Hotpot & Shabu
serves “hotpot”—where diners add their choice of thinly sliced
meats and vegetables into a tabletop pot of simmering soup
stock (pick from broths like tonkotsu, spicy beef, and miso).

Asha Urban Baths (ashaurbanbaths.com)—a communal gathering
place to restore well-being through heat and water (pool, sauna,
steam room, salt lounge, massage, and more)—is expanding to
Folsom. The 6,389-square-foot space at 9611 Greenback Lane is
expected to open at the end of the year and have a similar setup
as their Sacramento location along the Broadway corridor.

Vosswood Permanent Jewelry (vosswood.com), located at 815
Sutter Street, Suite A, features custom-made, durable bracelets
and anklets (sterling silver, gold-filled, and 14k gold) that are
welded closed after being designed and fitted; Orange House
Wood Studio (orangehousewoodstudio.com)—a husband-andwife
team that handcrafts hardwood cutting boards, laser-cut
earrings, wine caddies, coasters, and more—opened at 815
Sutter Street, Suite B; and Little Society (shoplittlesociety.
com), which sells soft, breathable kids’ clothing, along with
toys and accessories, is sited at 813 Sutter Street, Suite F.
Smile & Company (smileandcompany.com), a cosmetic and general
dentistry practice in Folsom
that specializes in providing
an exceptional and unique
experience, is expanding to
Roseville. The new location
at 240 Conference Center
Drive, Suite 120, is expected
to open early this summer.

Applications for Wickline Scholarships (up to $2,000 each)
awarded via Women’s Fund El Dorado are being accepted
through March 11. To be eligible, students must be female and
22 years of age or under, reside on the western slope of El
Dorado County, plan to attend an accredited educational or
vocational institution between this summer and next spring,
and demonstrate financial need, among other criteria. Visit

Hundreds of people gathered at Green Valley Community
Church for the swearing in ceremony of El Dorado County’s
new sheriff: Jeff Leikauf. A Cameron Park resident and
32-year veteran of the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office,
Leikauf’s vision is “a modern approach to traditional law
enforcement values; total enforcement on crime and criminals;
total care for victims, witnesses, and the community; and
total professionalism, through training and by example.”
The Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary is seeking docents ages 21 and
up to help host school tours, assist with story times and youth
day camps, participate in community events, and other ongoing
activities. The training course begins February 13 at 9 a.m.; the
fee ($40) includes training materials. To register (deadline is
