Year of the Salvia<br />

Every year the marketing campaign ’Plant of the Year’ from the international<br />

organisation Fleuroselect nominates a flower of the year with the intention<br />

to raise awareness of specific crops and to show the wide range of varieties<br />

to the consumer.<br />

Salvia farinacea Victoria<br />

The annual ’Victoria’ convinces with<br />

a strong, deep blue flower color.<br />

The dense, well-branched plants are up<br />

to 24” (60 cm) high and bring an excellent<br />

effect to any garden. This nonstop<br />

bloomer delights every gardener until<br />

the first frost in winter.<br />

Salvia splendens Salvano<br />

The annual ’Salvano’ is the perfect<br />

plant for beds and borders with a plant<br />

height around 12” (30 cm) and basal<br />

branching. The vivid red flowers on<br />

dense spikes shine from afar.<br />

Due to the weather tolerance the<br />

garden performance is excellent.<br />

Salvia x superba Queen<br />

The FastraX perennial ’Queen’ is a<br />

first year flowering plant that does not<br />

require vernalization. The two colors of<br />

Rudbeckia fulgida Goldsturm<br />
