Residents in the area described their
experiences on the road as terrible and
lamented the damage caused by the road on
their vehicles.
Some commercial drivers decried that the
situation had seriously affected their income,
and noted that daily trips along the route had
drastically reduced.
The contract for the rehabilitation of the road
which was awarded in May 2017 and was
supposed to be completed within 18months.
However, the rehabilitation of the road was
taking longer than necessary, which resulted in
the termination of the contract by Governor
Seyi Makinde.
Residents called on Governor Seyi Makinde to
prevail in the situation and re-award on the
road contract to ease the hardships being
