Besides the surprisingly mild climate
throughout the year, with moderate
pleasant average temperatures of 25ºC
in Summer and 17ºC in winter, the
archipelago also offers a wide variety of
activities for all ages and tastes. This
wonderful climate allows you to fully
enjoy the pleasures of the sea and
nature. There will be plenty of
opportunities to swim in volcanic pools,
stretch out in the sunny beaches, take
a boat trip to see whales or dolphins,
hike to waterfalls, experience a
mountain bike adventure or go
canoeing in the heart of the Laurissilva
Forest.

What-to-do activities
There are different experiences that
can be lived in nature, such as walks
around cascades and waterfalls in the
Laurissilva Forest, a UNESCO World
Heritage Site. You can choose between
relaxing activities such as golf,
birdwatching, trekking, jeep excursions
or the adrenaline rush of canoeing,
parachuting, trail running, BTT or
climbing.

This is much more than a simple trip;
Madeira allows you to collect exclusive
memories of the destination: a ride in
the iconic basket cars, a stroll around
waterfalls, a cable car descent to the
fajã dos padres, or a climb to the
highest peaks of the island.

Flower Festival, the Atlantic Festival,
Carnival, the Colombo Festival and the
Wine Festival are some of the most
popular events. They attract thousands
of tourists, year after year, in search of

energy that culminates on New Year’s
Eve, with one of the largest fireworks in
the world.
