Hello and welcome to our 2023 catalogue!

Nearly twenty-five years ago, we set out to help women of all shapes and sizes

to find their perfect bra, so that they could feel and look fantastic. Today, we are

still based on our North Yorkshire farm where we started, helping women to find

comfortable underwear, and feel their best every day.

During that time AmpleBosom has grown and we carry a huge array of bra

brands in band sizes 28 to 58 and cup sizes ranging between A-N. We can supply

matching briefs and we also specialise in cup size swimwear and cosy nightwear.

Our dedicated team of bra fitting specialists are all part of our extended

AmpleBosom ‘family.’ Having worked with us for many years, they know our

product ranges inside out, and help thousands of women, just like you, to find

the perfect fitting bra whatever their size or shape.

A well-fitting and supportive bra will

be comfortable but how do you know

if the bra is fitted correctly? We have

put together a guide to help you find

a well-fitting bra.

How to measure your correct bra size

Step 1 Step 2 Step 3

Measure your back size

Measure (in inches) directly under

your bust keeping the tape tight

and level around your body.

Finding your bra back size

If your rib cage measurement is

an even number, add 4 inches. If

your rib cage measurement is an

odd number, add 5 inches. Now

you have your bra back size.

Measure your bust size

Measure (in inches) around the

fullest part of your bust with your

bra on, keeping the tape level all

the way round your back.

How to measure your cup size

The difference between your back size measurement (your initial back measurement) and your bust size measurement will give you

your cup size. Different manufacturers use different bra sizing methods. You can use the bra cup size chart below to help find your cup

size for each bra brand. You can also refer to our ‘what are sister bra sizes’ blog on our website which will suggest alternate sizes for

you. Please see page 9 for a separate Anita chart.

What a well fitting bra looks like

Bra styles

Part of findng the perfect fitting bra is making sure the bra shape

and style is the right type for your breast shape.

Bra band should be level

all the way round, not

riding up at the back,

curling up or digging in.

Straps should run parallel

at the back and not dig in

to the shoulders or slip off.

Breasts should be

comfortably enclosed

in the cups with no over

spill or puckering.

Centre front should be

snug to the chest wall

with no gaps or digging in.

Snug fit at the underarm,

not too tight and not

gaping.

Underwired bras

An underwired bra is a bra with a covered wire under the cups.

This style helps to lift and support the bust and the wires can

be either padded or un-padded. Some wired bras also have a

shorter wire which are recommended for a shorter torso, so the

wires don’t dig in under the arms. An underwire bra is suitable for

all breast shapes.

Soft cup bras

A soft cup bra has no underwiring to the cups. Non wired bras

tend to have a deeper support underband offering gentle

support. Wire free bras naturally shape and comfort the breasts,

making this bra style extremely comfortable for any breast shape.

A wire free bra is recommended for close set breasts which are

narrow or have no space between the breasts for comfort.

Soft cup

bra

Non wired bras are a great choice for everyday wear as they are

so comfortable, as well as for providing support and comfort

during sleep, pregnancy and post-surgery. Read our customer’s

Finding the right bra band for bigger busts

We understand it can be difficult finding a comfortable supportive and stylish bra for the heavier bust. That’s why all of the bras we sell

have been designed to work with your body style, not against it. Three brands that Sally recommends for ladies with heavy breasts are

Goddess, Ulla Dessous and Elomi who all have bras that feature side support, wide straps and full cups.

Best Bra brands for big busts

Goddess (page 39)

They specialise in support and comfort in their bras as well as

providing an excellent fit. They have soft cup and underwired

plus size bras, with sizes ranging from 34 to 56 back sizes and

B to K cup sizes.

Ulla Dessous (page 52)

They create exquisite, high-quality bras and shapewear, using

firm fabrics for extra support and structure. Their bras are

luxurious items made from fabulous fabrics providing fantastic

fit, support and comfort in sizes ranging from a B cup up to an

N cup.

Elomi (page 17)

Their lingerie is a very popular underwear brand catering for the

fuller figure. Everyday bras that are comfortable, well-fitting, and

supportive. Created especially for the fuller figure and available

in cup sizes B to K. Offering wired and non wired bras in an array

Brands for larger busts and large bodies

Glamorise (page 35)

They are specialists in soft cups and experts for those hard-tofind

sizes, with our Glamorise collection you never have to suffer

in a bra that’s not comfortable again. Famous for the Magic Lift

Apple-shaped bodies have smaller hips and broader shoulders

and can find that they may have extra weight around their waist.

tummy control – look for swimsuits with a control lining that will

help to flatter the tummy and smooth the silhouette.

Hourglass figure

Hourglass figures are those that have balanced shoulders and

hips with a smaller waist. Choose a swimsuit with all over colours

and prints to keep you evenly balanced.

Pear shaped figure

Pear-shaped bodies are those with larger hips and slimmer

shoulders who may be a larger dress size on the bottom than

top. Wear a two piece so you can get the bra size for the top

and dress size for the bottoms to fit your size. Our swimwear
