CookNancy&#8217favorite mantra is &#8220Beieve it and youcan achieve it,&#8221one that held her in good stead as earlyas six years old when she first learned to ski while growing upin Jericho and Georgia, Vermont.This mantra continuedthroughout her childhood and adult life, adding basketball andfield hockey to her repertoire in high school and college atCastleton State, where she started running and competing intriathlons. She started believing at a young age, and she willnot stop!Currently, Nancy has completed 4 Ironman distancetriathlons, went to the World Championships for the HalfIronman and competed in 2 National USATF Championshipsin the Olympic distance. Today, she is a ranked master crosscountry, mountain, and marathon and ultra-runner, placing 7thmaster at the Boston Marathon in 2007 with a 3:05:59 andfinished her 36th marathon and 12th Boston Marathon thispast October, where most of her training was completed onher Concept2 indoor rowing machine. Currently, she holds theAmerican Record in her age group for the marathon on theindoor rower with a 2:59:52.She continues to pursue her firstlove &#8211skiing &#8211as a 22-year PSIA-certified, Level 3Alpine Ski Instructor, ambassador for REVO sunglasses andgoggles, and a certified skateIA inline skating instructor. Forthe past 25 years, she has taught at various resorts across theU.S., including Keystone Colorado, Mt. Sunapee NewHampshire, and Mount Snow and Stowe in Vermont.
