DEGREES WITH
A DIFFERENCE
Here are ten
reasons why you
should study for
a degree–level
course at Grŵp
Llandrillo Menai:
STAY LOCAL
At Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, you can
study for a degree right here on your
doorstep, without having to move away
to university. Most courses are delivered
at the University Centre in Rhos-on-Sea,
with some programmes available locally
at our Bangor, Dolgellau, Llangefni and
Rhyl campuses.
CONVENIENT
AND FLEXIBLE
Our timetables are designed to make
it easier for you to fit your studies
around your work, family and other
commitments. Our full and part-time
courses are timetabled over one or
two days per week with some of our
provision delivered in the evenings.
AFFORDABLE
AND ACCESSIBLE
If you live at home, you could save
thousands of pounds as you won't have
to pay the additional accommodation
costs incurred by students who move
away to study. Additional bursaries may
be available, depending on individual
circumstances.
EMPLOYMENT
OPPORTUNITIES
Our degree–level courses are developed
in consultation with regional employers
to ensure you’re equipped with up to date
skills that employers need. We continually
review courses to ensure they lead to
real employment opportunities. Many
of our programmes also include work
experience, placements, guest speakers
and visits.
"According to the National Student Survey
2021, 80% of our degree students said that our
flexible timetables worked efficiently for them"

PROGRESSION
All of our Foundation Degrees offer
further progression opportunities to
honours level of study, either with
ourselves or at another university and
many of our graduates gain a promotion
at work. We also offer Access to Higher
Education provision for those looking
to return to education, aspiring to do
something new or changing careers,
with a range of routes available.
SUPPORTIVE
All degree–level students get a
dedicated Personal Tutor. Class sizes
are small, so your expert tutors will
have more time to dedicate to you for
individual support and guidance. Our
friendly staff in Learner Services can
also provide you with help with CVs
and interview techniques, and offer
careers advice.
EXCELLENT
“I wouldn’t be where I am today without
Coleg Llandrillo’s amazing tutors
...and my amazingly supportive wife.
During my whole degree experience
at Coleg Llandrillo I received fantastic
support for my dyslexia and had a
brilliant team of tutors.
I benefited from small class sizes,
flexible studying, very accessible
I could ask for.”
LYDIA RYAN
“The course was interactive, fun,
extremely motivational, whilst at
times challenging.
A benefit of the course was that I was
able to become a Special Constable
alongside my classmates with North
Wales Police.
I can’t recommend the Policing
course enough and I will be forever
grateful for the experience it has
given me, as I never would have
become a Special Constable or Police
Constable without having enrolled on
the course.”

continue your practical work experience and progress in
your career.
