Registration Early Registration for Returning Students 1. Returning students should pick up registration worksheets at the Advising and Transfer Center, Student Development (Counseling), their local Kirkwood centers or Enrollment Services. 2. See your advisor for recommendations on courses appropriate for you and your program. 3. Use preferred sections on EagleNet to pre-build your schedule prior to your registration time. Registration Priority Students who are currently registered will be notifi ed through the mail and e-mail of their registration priority. Registration priority determines the fi rst time that you will be allowed to register. Priority is based upon the total number of credits earned to date (see Registration Priority Schedule, below). Registration Priority Schedule April 20 8 a.m. 50 credits or more 12 p.m. 40–49 credits April 21 8 a.m. 30–39 credits 12 p.m. 20–29 credits April 22 8 a.m. 14–19 credits 12 p.m. 9–13 credits April 23 8 a.m. 3–8 credits 12 p.m. 0.5–2 credits April 24 8 a.m. 0 credits Registration priority is assigned to students who are currently registered for the Spring 2009 semester. Students who have earned credit, but are not currently registered, can contact their advisors to receive priority. Degree Audit You can check your progress toward obtaining a degree, diploma or certifi cate. Use the Degree Audit link on EagleNet to check required courses for any program. To use the program evaluation (degree audit) function: 1. Go to https://eaglenet.kirkwood.edu 2. Log in using your User ID and Password, then select Submit. Your User ID is k (lowercase), followed by a seven-digit number (example: k0003750). 3. Click on EagleNet for Students. 4. Go to the Credit Registration section and click on Degree Audit Evaluation. 4 (Summer 2009) 5. To evaluate your progress toward your current program, select your program and click Submit. To see how your credits transfer to different programs of study, select the desired program from “What if I changed my program of study?” and click Submit. The requested degree audit information appears on the screen. 6. After you register for your classes, you can run a degree audit to confi rm that you are registered for the correct classes for your major. Open Registration To get your fi rst choice of classes, and good advice about what courses are best for you, it’s advantageous to see your advisor and register during Priority Registration. Sections will be open for general registration beginning April 25. Internet: Registration through the Internet is available at https://eaglenet.kirkwood.edu. To use this 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week registration method, see page 6 for step-by-step instructions. Phone: Registration by phone is available by calling 319-398-5412 or 1-800-332-2055 ext. 5412, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In-Person: If you’d like to register in person and are in an Arts and Sciences program, go to the Advising and Transfer Center at 108 Iowa Hall on the main campus, or go to your nearest Kirkwood center. Applied Science & Technology and Career Option students should go to the offi ce of the appropriate department, Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Refunds Changes involving refunds will be computed as of the date they are changed via Internet or received in Enrollment Services. As a Kirkwood Community College student, it is your responsibility to follow procedures that assure valid registration for courses. If special circumstances prevent you from following registration procedures as listed, special arrangements can be made. However, you must notify Enrollment Services in advance. How To Get Started. If you’re new to Kirkwood, here are the basic steps for enrollment: 1 Complete an online application at www.kirkwood.edu/apply. Application forms are available from high school guidance counselors; Admissions Services, 116 Iowa Hall; Student Development, 115 Iowa Hall; Enrollment Services, second fl oor, Kirkwood Hall; Kirkwood centers; and on the Internet at www.kirkwood.edu. Residence Qualifi cations 319-398-5477 Students enrolling at Kirkwood are classifi ed as residents or nonresidents of Iowa, or as international students, for admission and tuition purposes by the college’s Enrollment Services department. The legal defi nition requires 90 consecutive days of residency within the state for a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card). All others remain at nonresident status. EagleNet EagleNet is your online access to Kirkwood resources and registration information. EagleNet allows you to: • Check your grades; • Register for classes; • Drop classes; • Get your class schedule; • Check your tuition bill; • Check your fi nancial aid status; and more. 2 Contact 3 Submit the Registrar’s offi ce at any other college you’ve attended and have the college submit an offi cial transcript to Enrollment Services, second fl oor, Kirkwood Hall. your ACT test scores or take the COMPASS placement exams to determine the appropriate writing and mathematics courses for you.
