known as Plastico, onto a platform of 

growth and innovation. The new name 

underlines our heritage by honouring our 

founder David Green, and his daughter 

Eileen, our current Chairman. It also

Eileen Wiggins - Chairman & Caroline Wiggins - Chief Executive 

Founded in 1947 by David Green, an 

entrepreneur by nature, he saw the 

opportunity for selling confectionery 

and catering accessories. 

The company had had success with 

wooden products and over the years 

has developed an extensive range of 

paper and plastic items to meet the 

market needs. As a family business 

David welcomed his daughter Eileen 

into the business and she now runs 

the company with her daughter Caroline. 

We have a distribution and manufacturing 

base in Poland and the UK and inward 

investment in Asia.

Eco-Fibre tableware & packaging 

The Eco-Fibre range is sustainable and made from 100% rapidly renewable and 

reclaimed resources. 

The range has OK HOME COMPOST certification. Home compostable means that the 

customer simply can place the packaging in the home compost bin along with fruit 

and vegetable. Home compostable packaging means that any component or 

material used in the packaging decompose into organic soil. 

The base material is a by-product of wheat (using the straw and not the grain) and 

is certified gluten free. Unbleached, it is preferable to paper and wood pulp and fits 

with the EU Environmental Policy:- a directive which favours the use of 

agricultural waste. 

The product has an organic look and feel, which is the ideal complement to all food types. 

Water resistant to 100°C | Grease and oil resistant to 120°C | Cut resistant 

The range will compost naturally and can be disposed of with food waste.

Boats, cones and cups in poplar 

Our FSC® 100% certified range of wooden boats, cones and cups add a natural, yet 

premium feel to your food service. This range consists of three shapes in various sizes 

to meet the needs of any occasion. 

Ideal for use in many applications such as canapes, street food, sampling and 

buffets. These boats, cones and cups are crafted from poplar wood, sourced from 

responsibly managed forests and are kinder to the planet. This range is fully 

biodegradable and wood is compostable (check facilities locally), with the ability to 

be disposed of in normal waste streams.

CPLA cutlery 

Our CPLA cutlery set is made from 100% renewable resources, offering a biodegradable 

and compostable solution. 

Be kinder to the environment by using this EN13432:2000-12 European standard 

certified cutlery. The word “compostable” is embossed on the handle of each item. 

In an industrial composting site, our CPLA cutlery breaks down in 12 weeks. After 6 

months, 90% of the material will be composted.

Wrapped cutlery 

Our meal kits are flow wrapped under strict hygienic conditions. All of our cutlery can 

be flow wrapped individually or incorporated in meal packs with a napkin. In 

addition to the stock items, bespoke products can be produced for a minimum of 

10,000 packs. 

Meal kits can contain up to 12 items, to include cutlery and any of the following:- 1 or 2 

ply napkin, fresheners, salt, pepper, vinegar, vinaigrette and sugar. Open ended meal 

kits are also available. 

Our standard film is made from polypropylene. If you require compostable film, this is 

available upon request.

Paper straws 

Paper straws are the most eco-friendly option. The paper based material comes from 

responsibly managed forests. FSC®-certified carrying FSC MIX label. 

We use natural cellulose paper as the primary material for our paper straws. Being 

made from paper, they naturally degrade in oceans, rivers, lakes and are safe for 

marine life. 

They are strong due to their 3-ply in construction, and made from 300-350gsm paper. 

They are not suitable for hot drinks. Our straws do not contain wax, use food-safe inks 

and can be recycled.

Our PLA straws are made from 100% renewable resources, offering you a 

biodegradable & compostable solution for your cold drink service. 

Be kinder to the environment by using these EN13432:2000-12 European standard 

certified straws. 

In an industrial composting site, our PLA straws break down in 12 weeks. After 6 

months 90% of the material will be composted.

Go Green with our range of 100% r-PET cold cups. These eco-friendly products are 

made from food safe, 100% post-consumer waste, from items such as water and 

soda bottles, using carefully selected 100% recycled material, guaranteeing a high 

quality product with excellent clarity. 

The material we use (used PET bottles and cups from events and festivals) is collected 

sorted, cleaned and re-ground before being used in manufacturing again, ensuring 

this valuable material has a second use and diverts it from landfill, our rivers, streams 

and oceans. The material is sourced from an EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) 

registered supplier in accordance with EU282/2008 regulation on recycled plastic 

materials. 

Please ensure you recycle after use and help create a circular economy. These cups 

are 100% recyclable; PET is the world's most recycled plastic and can be used to
