Tidworth<br />

The small town of Tidworth lies close to the <strong>Wiltshire</strong>/Hampshire<br />

border. If you are travelling through, keep an eye out for clues<br />

to its long and interesting history. The Iron Age earthworks on<br />

Sidbury Hill, the Norman church of Holy Trinity, the thatched<br />

cottages, Station Road, St Mary’s Church and Tedworth House all<br />

stand testament to the centuries of this town’s existence.<br />

Tisbury<br />

The picturesque village of Tisbury has been a settlement for<br />

over 2,000 years. With a mainline railway station and an excellent<br />

choice of independent shops, it makes a superb base for walking,<br />

riding and cycling. <strong>Visit</strong> Old Wardour Castle just three miles away<br />

and the excellent medieval tithe barn at Place Farm, a stunning<br />

centre for the arts.<br />

Trowbridge<br />

A Magna Carta Baron town. Unique industrial architecture and<br />

a superb museum showcase its rich past as a centre for woollen<br />

cloth production. Today it boasts a vibrant heritage and arts<br />

scene, quality markets, independent retailers, family restaurants,<br />

a cinema and a Premier Inn. Great transport links, with mainline<br />

rail connections to Bath, Bristol and London.<br />

Vale of Pewsey<br />

White horses, ancient downland and the Kennet & Avon Canal<br />

make this a great base for walking, cycling and riding. You’ll find<br />

and shop, as well as Pewsey Heritage Centre, Crofton Beam<br />

Engines, Wilton Windmill and the Crop Circle Exhibition.<br />

Warminster<br />

A historic market town packed with listed buildings and a variety<br />

Meadows Nature Reserve. Longleat and Stourhead are nearby,<br />
