"exaine"or "assss"whether there is "wase"or "MUD"within
your department or organization accompanied by real life examples illustrating how each approach

approaches that can be used to identify or "dianose"the cause(s) of any waste or
"MUD"observed in your organization or department (i.e. the 5 WHYs, the
Fishbone/Cause Effect diagram, etc.). Actual examples from healthcare illustrate how the tools
can be used to determine or "dianose"the cause(s) of waste in your department or
organization. The fifth chapter discusses 40 different strategies and approaches that can be used
to "tret"or eliminate the 8 different types of "wase"that might be observed in
your department or organization. Approaches such as "pok-yoke" "kanan"
load leveling, 5s, and more are discussed in detail and reinforced by real life examples showing
how each of the approaches can be applied in the healthcare setting to “trat”or
eliminate "wase"while improving access, quality, safety, service, and affordability. The
sixth chapter discusses the most common tools and approaches that can be used to
"preent"waste (i.e. FMEA, poka-yoke, simulation, etc.). The seventh and final chapter
