Greetings....
You
are hereby
ordered for
induction
into supporting
the
entertainment and events
of Post 496. Remember
that we put on the dinners
and entertainment for all
of you the members of
our Post. Please come
Greetings
from the
Chaplain.
This
newsletter
should
arrive
sometime
between the Christmas
and New Year holidays. I
hope that all of you have
enjoyed the season and
are getting ready to enjoy
a Happy New Year.
Take note though of the
good things that happened
to us all in 2011.
We shared both happy
times and sad times as
well.
We lost Dennis Brady and
Sol Cunha since the last
newsletter. We received
news in October that Dennis
had passed away last
January. Sol Cunha’s
out support these events
and if you seldom or never
come by, come out
and meet people that
share the same interests
as you. Come out support
the events that are put on
by your Post. Membership
alone does
not support the programs
that we work
so hard on. It takes
all of you to come
Don Walsh Chaplain
passing in late October
was only the second female
veteran that died in
my time here at 496. She
served in the Army in the
Philippine Islands during
World War II. We extend
our sincere condolences
to their families and loved
ones.
Post 496 continues to be
an influence in our community
as we support our
veterans and those on
active duty. Our club
room has remained a
wonderful place to see
friends we care about,
catch up on the news,
have a cold drink or share
a meal. If you have not
stopped by in a while you
are really missing out.
And perhaps you all have
a New Years Resolution
out participate and do
your part as a Veteran....
Happy New Year!
Till next time...
God Bless
that you will try to stick
too. Statistically, most
are about weight loss or
the stopping of smoking
or drinking. The focus of
both Lent and Rosh
Hashanah lead believers
to become “better” whether
through reflection or
self sacrifice. Others favorites
are to make more
time for family and
friends, complete one of
your personal “bucket
items” or to become more
organized. The editor of
this newsletter is wishing
that last one for yours
truly.
I’m hoping that 2012 finds
us better in everyway. A
good start to that would
be to love one another.
Happy New Year to all.
