The Martin County Historical Society’s current projects
involve a book portraying the history of businesses in
Martin County and an Interactive Room. The book is a
compilation of business histories submitted for this project. The goal of
this project is to provide documentation of those submitted businesses
so that they won’t be lost over time. Most displays in museums are meant
to be viewed but not touched. The Interactive Room will incorporate
items that can be touched, manipulated, and utilized as originally intended,
such as rotary phones, a 1983 computer, typewriters, and more.
