Description
This is a story about the innocence of children and how in their minds, they just want to be your friend and
play. Austin and Asher love to go to the city park. They especially love it when there are other children
there. They walk up and just make friends. “Hi, I’m Asher and this is my brother Austin. We are twins. Do
you want to play?” It started with a question. What is this story about? The answer was a dragon. Ok, what
does he look like? He is a red, fire breathing dragon. Oh wow! Where does he live? In a volcano with hot
lava. Austin and Asher love to make up stories and during my time as their stay at home dad, we’d have this
exchange often. In 2019 when they were not yet five, they created George The Dragon. While it is about
their innocence and just wanting to meet George and play even though he was different, I think it is more
about being an engaged, creative and loving parent. So sit on the park bench, read George The Dragon to
you children and marvel at their ability to just walk up and say “HEY Dragon.”We adults could take a lesson
from our children. Austin and Asher will continue to make up stories. We hope you will ask your children,
what is their story about? If you see us out and about, just walk up and say HEY DRAGON!
