Introduction
You probably know that when you want to achieve something,
you need to focus. Learning how to concentrate is crucial. In
fact, if you want to succeed at anything, you need to be able to
give your undivided attention to the task at hand.
Don't get disheartened if you find it hard to keep your mind
focused on a subject for long periods of time initially. You're
not alone; most people struggle with this. It's strange, but it's
often easier to concentrate on something that's not good for
us rather than something that will benefit us. However, this
tendency can be overcome by consciously practicing
concentration.
If you dedicate some time to practicing a few concentration
exercises each day, you'll quickly develop this amazing power.
When you can focus and concentrate, you'll be able to utilize
all the constructive thoughts that come your way and shut out
all the destructive ones. This means you'll be well on your way
to achieving success. It's incredibly valuable to be able to
think only about things that will benefit you.
Have you ever thought about how important concentrated
thoughts are to your life? This book will show you just how farreaching
and significant their effects can be.
You'll find these lessons to be extremely practical and the
exercises we've included have been thoroughly tested. They're
designed so that you'll notice an improvement from the very
start, which will give you the encouragement you need to keep
going. These lessons also highlight ways in which you can help
yourself along the way.
You have unlimited potential to achieve greatness, but it takes
training and development to make it happen. With
concentration and effort, you can accomplish a great work.
Even a dwarf can outperform a giant when they harness the
magic of mental concentration. On the other hand, even giants
can underperform when they lack this power. This book will
6
help you awaken the power of concentration and unlock your
full potential.
When it comes to achieving success, it's not just about being
physically fit for the job - it's about being mentally focused.
Often, the person who may seem like the perfect candidate
doesn't necessarily excel in the role. The key to being truly
successful is to concentrate on every aspect of the
opportunity, and make the most of it. By focusing on both
your work and your life, you can transform them into works of
art.
If you want to advance, you must make individual effort your
priority.
This course of lessons will inspire and motivate you to achieve
success; it will help you align perfectly with the laws of
success. You'll gain a better understanding of your duties and
responsibilities and become more confident in fulfilling them.
If you follow the thought concentration methods given in this
book, you will unlock your mind to connect with the
unchanging truths of the universe. This will give you an
unshakable foundation for your life and your endeavors.
We understand that everyone is unique and has their own way
of doing things. This book is designed to awaken something
within you that perhaps you never knew existed. By studying
these lessons, you can train yourself to be the best you can
be. Let each of your actions and thoughts be filled with
intense and powerful concentration.
If you want to gain the most from these lessons, try this
technique: read a page, then close the book and take a
moment to reflect on what you just read. Practicing this
method can help you establish a habit of focused thinking,
which will allow you to read quickly while still retaining
everything you've learned.

Lesson One - Finding the Way: The
Art of Concentration
You have two sides to your personality, one that pushes you to
move forward and another that holds you back. You have the
power to choose which one to focus on. Your will is what
determines your success or failure. By exerting your willpower,
you can change the course of your life and achieve the
extraordinary. Believe in yourself and your ability to create
your own path. Willpower can make the impossible possible.
Have you ever heard of people who suddenly become
successful after plodding through life? They awaken from a
slumber and start to realize their potential. You could be one
of those people. The key is to choose to let your better self
take the lead instead of the brute inside. You always have a
choice in what you do, and you are in control of your life. Your
actions depend on how you have trained yourself. Think of
yourself as moldable putty, ready to be shaped by your
willpower.
In life, we tend to fall into habits, often emulating those
around us. But the good news is, habits can be broken the
moment you decide to make the change. Whether you've been
stuck in a rut or labeled a "good-for-nothing," by harnessing
your "I will" power, you can become the master of your
destiny. Even older individuals have been able to accomplish
amazing feats when they've made the decision to turn their
lives around. You may feel like you've lost an opportunity, but
don't believe that it was your only chance to succeed. In fact,
opportunities don't come knocking at your door - you have to
seek them out. It's often your quick thinking that will set you
apart from others, allowing you to take advantage of the
chances that come your way. So don't put off until tomorrow
what you can do today. Make the decision to change your life,
and see what a difference it can make.
Have you ever read a good book or taken a course and felt like
8
you didn't get much out of it? The truth is, the power of the
book or course is limited to how much you are willing to put in.
It can only awaken you to your potential and inspire you to use
your willpower. You can be shown the way, but it is up to you
to take action and apply what you have learned. As the old
saying goes, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't
make him drink."
Looking for the good in people and everything around you is
one of the most powerful habits you can cultivate. Every
person and situation has something good in it, and focusing on
that goodness can have an incredibly positive impact on your
life. By actively seeking out the good in others, you will be
encouraging and uplifting them while also improving your own
outlook on life. When we look for the good in others, we often
inspire them to be their best selves, and this can create a
ripple effect of positive change in the world.
To make progress in life, it's important to take the
opportunities presented to you and strive to meet the
expectations set before you. On the first of every month, take
some time to reflect on your progress thus far. If you haven't
met your goals, try to identify why and what you can do
differently next time. Remember, when we fall behind, that
time is lost forever. While there may be reasons why we didn't
meet our goals, excuses won't get us anywhere. Don't be afraid
to take on a difficult task, as it is often the hardest ones that
lead to the greatest rewards. Don't shy away from a challenge,
as accomplishing one of these can often bring more good than
a dozen easier triumphs.
If you are willing to put in the effort, you can achieve success.
But success doesn't come from money, it comes from hard
work. The first thing you need is the desire to be something, to
achieve something. Once you have that, the next step is to
learn how to do it, and then to actually do it. The most
successful people are those with a broad mind, who have
knowledge that is valuable in all situations. To be successful,
you must be open-minded and acquire as much knowledge as
9
possible, not just in your field, but in every part of your
business. If you do this, you can achieve success.
To be successful, the key is to constantly strive to improve
yourself, no matter where you are or what your position is.
Don't settle for doing the bare minimum; instead, challenge
yourself to see how much you can accomplish. This kind of
mindset will set you apart as a hard worker, and will make you
an asset to any company that values progress and innovation.
With this attitude, you'll always find opportunities for growth
and advancement in your career.
If you want to reach the top, you need to be a hard worker who
is not afraid to take risks. Employers want to see results, and
they will promote those who have shown they can achieve
them. They are looking for people who are determined and
have a can-do attitude. Those who are timid and slow to act
will not be given positions of responsibility and power. It is the
gritty, plucky, hard worker who rises to the top.
Concentration and focus are key if you want to reach the top.
You must learn to direct your thoughts towards the task at
hand. The successful ones are those who can block out
distractions and give their full attention to what they are
doing. It is essential to maintain your mental energy by
avoiding multitasking, as it can lead to a lack of productivity.
You must have the determination to persevere through
challenges and obstacles. By staying motivated and
committed, you can accomplish anything you set your mind
to.
The person who emerges as the winner in the end is not
necessarily a genius, nor does he have any greater talent than
the rest. However, he has learned that the key to achieving
success is through persistent and focused effort. There are no
"miracles" in business; he knows that results only come from
staying committed to a goal and seeing it through until the
end. This is the only secret to success. Successful people are
accustomed to seeing their goals being achieved, and they
always expect to succeed. In contrast, people who are used to
10
failing expect failure and end up attracting it.
Imagine the possibilities if everyone had the chance to unlock
their full potential. It's a pity that so many people with talents
and abilities go to waste. There's a gap that needs to be filled,
and perhaps someday, a millionaire philanthropist can start a
school specifically designed to train people to be successful.
Just a year of learning practical psychology could work
wonders for individuals who lost their way, lost their will, or
became discouraged due to personal struggles or misfortune.
What they need is a little help, but they're usually met with
negativity instead. As a result, their innate talents and abilities
remain untapped, and they and the world lose out. I hope that
someone will take advantage of the opportunity to inspire
those who are beginning to falter. They only need to be shown
that there is an omnipotent source within them that is ready
to assist, as long as they make use of it. All that's needed is a
shift from despair to hope to help them regain their footing.
If you feel like you've lost your way, it's up to you to take
control of your life and get back on track. In today's world,
there isn't much inspiration or encouragement to help you, so
it's essential to rely on yourself to succeed. You have to stop
wasting your energy on things that don't matter and start
focusing on building a meaningful career. You have to be
strong and make the decision to change your bad habits and
weaknesses. No one else can do it for you, but they can offer
you some support and encouragement to help you along the
way.
You are capable of overcoming any obstacle on your path to
success. There is no challenge too great for you to conquer.
The only obstacle that might hold you back is poor health.
However, with determination, grit, and willpower, you can
overcome any handicap and achieve your goals. Don't let
anything stand in your way. You have the power to overcome
anything that comes your way.
You are capable of overcoming any obstacle on your path to

The only obstacle that might hold you back is poor health.
However, with determination, grit, and willpower, you can
overcome any handicap and achieve your goals. Don't let
anything stand in your way. You have the power to overcome
anything that comes your way.
You have something far more powerful than money - it's called
willpower. If you have the grit and determination to succeed,
you can achieve anything you want, even if you're currently
struggling. Money may come and go, but willpower will help
you overcome any obstacle in your way. It's the key to
success, and it can carry you through the toughest times, if
only you give it a chance.
To achieve great things, you need to be willing to overcome
obstacles. Look at the inventors who have made it big - they
often faced hardship and were misunderstood by their loved
ones. Some even struggled to make ends meet. But what set
them apart was their unwavering determination and courage.
They kept pushing until they succeeded, and their inventions
went on to help countless others. The lesson here is that
success is possible, even when the odds are stacked against
you. All you need is a strong will and the willingness to
persevere.
You've got big dreams, but sometimes it can feel like they're
just out of reach. The truth is, anyone can achieve their goals -
it just takes effort and sacrifice. The key is to take action and
push forward. You have the power to make almost anything
happen if you're willing to put in the work and stay focused.
Sure, there will be obstacles in your way, but they're no match
for your determination. The bigger your vision, the smaller
those obstacles will seem. And as you overcome them, you'll
gain the courage you need to keep going. So don't be afraid of
a challenge - embrace it, and watch as you soar to new heights.
In your journey to success, it's important to remember that
there will be rough patches. Don't let these obstacles
discourage you, but rather use them to show your strength
and determination. Keep pushing forward, and know that your
12
ability to weather the storm will define you. Don't dwell on the
rough parts of the journey, but instead focus on the smooth
path ahead, and find joy in every moment.
Don't allow a single setback to halt your progress. Consider it a
minor obstacle to overcome on your path towards your
ultimate goal.
13
Lesson Two - Self-Mastery: The
Power of Directing Yourself
through Concentration
You are capable of great things, but sometimes, you may find
yourself lacking the necessary self-mastery and concentration
to achieve your full potential. It's not your fault, though;
society and life can be distracting and make it difficult to stay
focused on your goals. However, you have the power to
change that and take control of your mind. By harnessing your
innate ability to concentrate and direct your thoughts, you
can unlock your true potential and become the person you
were meant to be.
You have the ability to be in control of your own mind, but
many people have not trained themselves to do so. The
human mind has the power to engineer, direct, and
concentrate your thoughts and actions. It's important to learn
how to control both your thoughts and movements to achieve
self-mastery.
When your controlling faculties are untrained, your impulses,
passions, emotions, thoughts, actions and habits suffer from a
lack of regulation. As a result, mental concentration may be
difficult, not because the mind is weak, but because it hasn't
been properly trained. It's essential to develop your
autonomic faculties in order to regulate your mental and
physical operations.
Without proper development of your self-regulating faculties,
your impulses, emotions, and passions will run rampant,
causing your mind to become impulsive, restless, and irregular
in its actions. As a result, your mental concentration will
suffer.
When your self-guiding abilities are underdeveloped, you'll
find it difficult to concentrate. To improve your concentration,
you must first build up the faculties responsible for directing
14
your thoughts and actions. If you're struggling to concentrate,
one of the following factors may be to blame:
If you're having trouble with concentration, there are a few
reasons why. It could be due to a deficiency of your motor
centers, an impulsive and emotional mindset, or an untrained
mind.
You can easily fix the last problem with systematic practice -
it's the easiest to correct.
If you often find yourself caught up in strong emotions like
anger, excitement or hatred, then focusing your mind can be
quite challenging. Such impulses can prevent you from
concentrating on what's really important, making it hard to
stay productive and efficient. However, the good news is that
with a little practice, you can learn how to calm your emotions
and cultivate greater focus in your daily life. By taking steps to
restrain your impulses and emotions, you can create a more
conducive environment for concentration and achieve greater
success in all areas of your life.
To improve your concentration, you can make changes to your
diet and avoid consuming food and drinks that have a negative
effect on your nerves or that cause you to feel overly
stimulated. In addition, it can be helpful to spend time with
people who have a calm, steady, and controlled demeanor.
Surrounding yourself with those who exhibit these traits can
help you naturally decrease impulsive and emotional
tendencies.
t's harder to correct a deficiency of the motor centers because
it means you're lacking willpower due to an undeveloped
brain.
Do you find yourself often feeling negative or absent-minded?
It's a common misconception to think that this is a form of
concentration. In fact, it's the opposite - negative thoughts
tend to create an absence of mind, making it difficult to
concentrate. In fact, it can even harm your brain. To truly
concentrate, you must have a strong mind. Those who lack
15
willpower, or have minds that cannot center on a subject or
remove unhelpful impressions, tend to have weaker minds and
struggle with concentration. However, those who are able to
center their minds on any subject and remove unharmonious
thoughts show strength of mind, making concentration
possible. So remember, concentration is a sign of strength of
mind.
If you want to accomplish your goals and succeed in life, you
need to learn how to concentrate. Concentration is the ability
to focus your mind and energy on a specific task or thought.
By concentrating, you can bring together your mental and
physical energies and use them to their full potential.
To concentrate, you need to pay attention to your thoughts,
words, actions and plans. If you allow your mind to wander
and distract you, you'll waste your energy and won't get much
done. To achieve your goals, you need to say to yourself, "I
want to, I can, I will." When you make a conscious decision to
concentrate, you'll be amazed at what you can achieve.
Are you easily distracted by sensational stories and worthless
news items? If so, you're weakening your power of
concentration. Instead of being a free engineer who can steer
yourself towards success, you'll find yourself struggling to
focus. Don't let impulsive and emotional distractions drain
your energy and potential.
You need to start by paying attention to your thoughts and
feelings if you want to improve your concentration,. Watch
yourself closely, regulate your thoughts, and observe your
actions and those of others. This will help you develop your
autonomy and improve your faculties over time. Focalizing
your mind on a particular object or thought in a conscious
manner leads to concentration. The trained mind is the one
that can focus and hold a thought in place long enough for all
faculties to consider it. With practice, you can engineer your
every thought, wish and plan.
To succeed, you need to be in control of your thoughts,
wishes, plans, resolutions, and studies. Being impulsive one
16
moment and calm the next means you lack proper control
over yourself, and you won't be able to fully succeed. You
need to be the master of your own mind, thoughts, feelings,
and wishes. Otherwise, you won't be able to achieve success.
When you get irritated, you'll irritate others and ruin
everyone's chances of doing their best. But if you can direct
your energies and focus them on your work in a concentrated
manner, you'll have the power to control not only yourself, but
others as well. You can make every move you make serve a
useful purpose and every thought you have a noble purpose.
In today's society, it's essential to remain composed and
focused. Someone who gets easily agitated or irritated is not
viewed favorably. People who are well-mannered and cultured
tend to speak slowly and deliberately. They cultivate a calm
and collected demeanor, which requires conscious attention
to one thing at a time. When you engage in conversation with
someone, give them your undivided attention. Avoid letting
your mind wander and ignore any potential distractions. Unite
your will and intellect to be fully present in the moment.
Start your day with a determination to remain self-possessed
throughout the day. Regularly check in with yourself to see if
you have managed to stay poised. If you haven't, resolve to do
so tomorrow. The more self-possession you have, the more
effective your concentration will be. Don't rush; improving
your concentration will enhance your potential for success.
When you are better able to govern yourself and focus your
mind, you'll become more committed to your endeavors, and
that can increase your chances of success.
When you engage in conversation with someone, keep your
goals in mind. Focus your energy on the purpose you're
discussing, but don't lose sight of your own plans. Pay
attention to the other person's actions, but stay aligned with
your objectives. This way, you'll use your energy wisely and
achieve more than you would otherwise.
To improve your own self-control, observe the next person
you see who has a reputation for being a strong, forceful
17
character. Pay attention to how they move, and notice their
perfect control over their body. Compare this to an ordinary
person and notice how they waste energy with unnecessary
movements. These actions drain both vital and nerve cells,
weakening your overall power. It's crucial to conserve your
nervous and vital forces, so you can direct your full steam
towards one goal. Just like an engine, if all your valves are
open, you can't generate enough mental steam to achieve
success. Instead, focus your mind on one purpose, one plan,
and one transaction to center your energy towards success.
When you get excited, you waste your nerve force. It's
important to be calm and collected to conserve your vital
energy. When you let anger, sarcasm or excitement control
you, it weakens your personality and you can't develop the
finer qualities that make a gentleman. You must learn to
control yourself and not let emotions get the best of you, as it
can affect your ability to concentrate. Nervousness and
anxiety can come from not being able to manage your
excitement levels.
When you learn to focus your mind, every cell in your body
works together in perfect harmony. This creates a strong and
magnetic personality that attracts success and admiration.
Each tiny cell within your body contains life and energy that
can be harnessed and directed towards a single purpose. By
controlling and conserving this energy, you become more
influential and successful. On the other hand, if this energy is
wasted, your potential influence and success will suffer.
To achieve your best, you need to conserve and control your
energy. Like a steam engine, running at full throttle with all its
valves open, you can't waste energy and expect to function at
your best. Each neuron in your brain is a center of thought and
action, pulsing with intelligent energy. By keeping this energy
in check with a concentrated and systematic mind, you can
cultivate magnetism, vitality and good health. Every part of
your body, from your muscles to your nerves, is an agent for
carrying out the commands of your mind. To develop self-
18
mastery, focus on regulating your thoughts, emotions,
impulses, physical movements and the instruments that
control them. The more you succeed in this, the more your
power of concentration will grow.
If you’re easily distracted or often find yourself feeling
scattered and overwhelmed, it’s possible that your power of
concentration could use a little work. There are many things
that can interfere with your ability to focus, such as
excitement, strong drinks, emotional outbursts, and even
stimulating food. These things can create an erratic,
spasmodic type of concentration that is not nearly as
effective as the controlled, uniform concentration that comes
from slower, more deliberate actions directed by your
intelligence. Think of your energy as a gun; when used
properly, it can accomplish your goals, but if it goes off too
soon, it can cause harm and waste ammunition. The same goes
for your energy levels. If you let them explode, you’ll be
wasting your power and magnetism, which can injure your
chances for success. That’s why it’s so important to cultivate a
sense of self-control and discipline. By training yourself to
concentrate, you can achieve a sense of vitality, health, and
magnetism that will help you succeed in all areas of your life.
To truly master the power of concentration, you must practice
a variety of exercises and commit to them consistently. This
means taking control of your erratic thoughts, managing your
emotions, and staying focused throughout the day. With
consistent training, you can regulate your movements and
channel your energy to achieve your goals. It won't happen
overnight, but by dedicating yourself to the practice, you can
develop a steady and disciplined mind that leads to success.
You must learn to concentrate it if you want to tap into the
powerful energy stored in your lower brain,. Think of this
energy as a machine that's waiting to be operated. But without
a skilled engineer to direct and regulate it, you won't get very
far. To succeed in life, you must develop your engineering
skills, the power to control your every action. Every task you
10
undertake, whether big or small, contributes to your
development. So always keep in mind whether an action will
advance or hinder your growth before deciding whether to
pursue it.
You may have heard the phrase "work hard, play hard."
Focusing on pleasure or love can actually help develop your
concentration. By devoting your full attention to these
experiences, you can intensify them beyond what you thought
was possible. You can also concentrate on your true self and
the amazing potential it holds, boosting both your self-esteem
and your ability to focus.
Concentration can also be cultivated through systematic and
steady habits. Taking in the natural world around you or
consistently showing up at work at the same time each day are
both ways to develop this skill. On the other hand,
inconsistency can hinder your concentration. By honing your
ability to keep your mind fixed on a single thought for
extended periods, you'll become a master of concentration.
To improve your concentration, it is important to focus on a
specific task or object, much like a camera lens zooming in on
a landscape. Keep your mind centered on what you are doing,
whatever it may be, and be mindful of your attention. This
self-awareness is key to improving your concentration and
making progress towards your goals.
To increase your power, love, and life, try practicing deep
breathing exercises regularly. Not only will it benefit your
health, but it can also aid in your personal development.
Remember, every action you take contributes to your growth,
so keep striving towards your goals.
If you're looking to improve your concentration, you might
consider taking up muscular exercises. It may seem strange,
but it's important to remember that the mind is connected to
the muscles and nerves in your body. By strengthening and
steadying your nerves and muscles, you can also steady your
mind and improve your power of direction. Conversely, if your
nerves are out of order, your mind will become erratic, and
20
you'll struggle with concentration. That's why exercises that
help to steady your nerves and muscles are so essential for
developing your concentration.
To lead a successful life, you need to control the impulses you
receive every day. This is why it's important to control your
movements, such as your eyes, feet, and fingers, and even
your breathing. Slow, deep breaths are particularly important
because they steady your circulation, heart, muscles, and
nerves, making your mind more stable and focused. When
your heart flutters, your circulation becomes irregular, and
when your breathing is uneven, your mind becomes unstable,
making it hard to concentrate. By controlling your breathing,
you create a solid foundation for physical health and mental
concentration.
It's not enough to just train your mind if you want to boost
your concentration and focus. You also need to train the
movements of your eyes, ears, and fingers - each of which has
its own mini-mind. Think of yourself as the master engineer
who can control all these aspects to achieve your goals. By
understanding this, you'll be able to develop your
concentration skills more quickly and effectively.
If you want to succeed in life, you must be able to
concentrate, and one way to do that is by listening. It's easy to
talk, but it's hard to listen. If you pay close attention to
someone speaking, you will not only learn from them, but you
will also improve your concentration. This is why many
successful people let others do the talking.
When you shake someone's hand, it's like shaking hundreds of
individual minds, each with its own intelligence. So, it's
important to put some feeling into your handshake to show
your personality. A listless handshake can indicate timidity,
lack of force, and a lack of personality. A weak or stiff grip can
suggest that the person has little love in their nature, no
passion, and no magnetism. A strong and warm handshake, on
the other hand, can indicate the opposite. A loveless person is
non-magnetic, and their handshake shows it. When two people
21
who have developed their souls shake hands, their clasps are
never light.
There's a thrill that goes through both people when the two
currents meet. Love arouses the opposite currents of the
positive and negative natures, and when there's no love, life
loses its charm. The handshake quickly shows when love is
being aroused. So, it's important to study the art of
handshaking and develop your social affections. A person that
loves their kind reflects love, and a person that hates reflects
hate. A person with a bad nature, a hateful disposition, evil
thoughts and feelings is erratic, freakish, and fitful.
When you allow yourself to become irritable, watch how you
breathe, and you'll learn a valuable lesson. Watch your
breathing when you're happy and in love with the whole world,
and noble emotions thrill you. When filled with good thoughts,
you breathe a plentiful supply of oxygen into your lungs, and
love fills your soul. Love develops a person, physically,
mentally, and socially. Breathe deeply when you're happy, and
you'll gain life and strength, steady your mind, and develop
your power of concentration, becoming magnetic and
powerful.
To live a fuller life, you need to cultivate love. Without real
affection for something, you lack sentiment, sweetness, and
magnetism. Therefore, use your willpower to awaken your love
affections and experience the power of love.
When it comes to connecting with others, your hand shake can
be a powerful tool. When you approach someone with love
and affection, it's important to keep a steady and controlled
hand. By concentrating your love and positive energy in your
hand shake, you can influence others and make a lasting
impression.
If you're feeling irritable, it's a great opportunity to practice
self-control. Take a moment to breathe slowly and deeply, and
use your will to stay patient. If you start speaking quickly,
make a conscious effort to slow down and speak clearly. Focus
on maintaining your poise and keeping a steady tone of voice.
22
These small actions will improve your concentration and selfcontrol
over time.
When you come across important people, it's best to maintain
a relaxed posture in their presence. This should be your
default attitude around them. Observe your own behavior and
theirs. Doing static exercises will help improve your motor
skills and your ability to concentrate. If you're feeling agitated,
restless or powerless, plant your feet on the ground, square
your shoulders and take a deep breath. You'll notice that your
agitation will fade away and a peaceful calm will come over
you.
Do you find yourself surrounded by people who always seem
to be irritable or angry? If so, it may be time to make some
changes. Being around negative people can drain your energy
and weaken your ability to concentrate. It's important to build
up your power of concentration before you try to associate
with people who may test your limits. Try to focus on spending
time with people who uplift and inspire you. It will help you
build your concentration and keep you focused on your goals.
If you're looking to develop better control over your mind,
exercises that improve your control over your body can be a
great place to start. Activities like training your fingers, eyes,
ears, or feet can have a positive effect on your mind's
steadiness. When you observe someone's physical
movements, you can learn a lot about their mind because
actions are an expression of the mind. A steady mind
translates to steady actions, while an unsettled mind results in
erratic actions. Concentration means having control over both
your mind and body. It's essential to realize that you cannot
have control over one without the other.
If you often find yourself lacking in ambition or energy, it
might be due to your mind being sluggish and unengaged.
However, don't be too quick to assume you lack the ability to
concentrate. Individuals who appear patient and in control
may still struggle with directing their focus. They may also
come across as lazy or unmotivated because of their lack of
23
energy. Yet, it's this same lack of energy that makes them
seemingly unflappable and unruffled. In contrast, people who
have a natural strength and force are also able to manage their
energy and focus. They possess the ability to direct their
thoughts and movements with control and precision.
If you lack the energy, both physical and mental, you need to
develop it. On the other hand, if you already have energy, but
struggle to direct and hold it to a certain point, you need to
learn how to do so. You may have great abilities, but they
won't do you any good unless you have the willpower to
control and direct them.
You’ve probably heard a lot about the benefits of exercise for
your body, but did you know it can also benefit your mind?
Static exercises, which involve holding positions for a certain
amount of time, are especially good for building your
concentration and focus. When you learn to control your
body, you’re also gaining control over your mind. Don’t
overlook the power of physical culture for developing your
mental abilities!
24
Lesson Three - Achieving Your
Goals with Concentration
You may have heard people say that merely wishing for
something won't make it happen. While it's true that simply
having a desire won't bring it to you, concentration can.
Through concentration, you can achieve anything you want.
Every desire can be fulfilled, but it depends on your ability to
concentrate on it. It's important not to simply wish for
something without taking action towards it. You use up just as
much mental energy by imagining something worthless as you
do when thinking about something meaningful. So, rather than
wish for something, focus on it and work towards making it a
reality. We're not living in a "fairy age", so it's time to take
control and focus on what truly matters.
As you work towards achieving your goals, it's important to
have a clear idea of what you want. Take the time to envision
your desired outcome and use the power of your will to bring
it to life. Don't let yourself get sidetracked or drift aimlessly.
Stay focused on your goal and put all your effort into making it
a reality. With enough dedication, you can achieve anything
you set your mind to.
You have to believe in yourself to achieve what you set out to
do. Often, people begin a task with the belief that they will fail,
and, as a result, they often do. Consider the example of a
person who visits a store to purchase a particular item but is
told by the clerk that it is not available. If the person is
determined to obtain that item, they will persist by asking if
anyone else knows where it can be found, and even escalate to
the manager if necessary, until they finally find it. This
persistence is driven by a firm belief that they can accomplish
their goal.
If you want to get what you want, you need to concentrate on
it. Believe that you have the power to accomplish anything
you set your mind to. People who doubt themselves usually
fail. Think about a time you wanted to buy something, but the
25
store didn't have it. Did you give up and go home? No, you
probably asked the clerk if they knew where you could find it.
If they didn't know, you might have asked the manager, and
kept asking until you found what you were looking for. That's
the secret to getting what you want. You have to focus your
mind and be determined to find a way. Think of yourself as the
center of all power. Believe that you can do it, and you will.
There's a story about a man who became the head of a big
bank. He started out as a messenger boy. His father gave him a
button with a "P" on it and told him it stood for "president." He
said, "Son, some day you'll be the president of this bank. I
want you to do something every day to get you closer to that
goal." Every night, his father asked him what he had done that
day to get closer to becoming president. He concentrated on
his goal and eventually became the president of the bank. His
father had told him never to reveal the secret of the "P," and
he didn't until he became the president.
Your mental powers are valuable, so don't waste them by just
wishing for things. Instead, focus your energy on doing
something truly worthwhile. Trying to satisfy every desire will
only drain your energy and leave you unfocused. Remember,
the person who stays dedicated to a goal is the one who
ultimately succeeds.
"Emerson once said, 'Power to him who power exerts.' It's a
simple, yet powerful reminder that when you exert your
power, you become more powerful. By focusing your energy
and efforts, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. So
don't be afraid to exert your power and take control of your
life.”
To succeed in the present day, you must focus on harnessing
the internal power of your mind. By doing so, you awaken your
thought powers and unlock your full potential. This can lead to
lasting success in your professional life.
When you concentrate your inner force, you tap into a world
of unlimited potential. This universe is filled with boundless
energy, waiting to be utilized. To make an impact in the world,
26
you must believe in yourself and focus on what truly matters.
Remember, you have the power to make your mark on the
world. No dream is too big or too small. As long as you are
willing to put in the effort, the universe will work with you to
make your goals a reality. Don't waste your time wishing for
greatness. You already have everything you need to succeed.
All you have to do is believe in yourself, work hard, and stay
focused. With determination, you can overcome any obstacle
and achieve everything you desire.
In times of trouble and challenge, you are ready. You
represent the infinite law of force, or all power. Your soul is
unconquerable. The difficulties that come your way only serve
to make you stronger. No matter what happens, you have an
ever-present help within you: the God within. As you face
harder trials, you develop your inherent strength even more.
This interior reliance is all-sufficient, and the right must
prevail. You demand wisdom and power to know and follow
the right. Your higher self is all-wise, and you draw nearer to it
with each passing moment.
27
Lesson Four - The Silent Force of
Concentration in Business
To fully harness the power of concentration and focus, it's
important to understand just how powerful your thoughts are.
Believe it or not, a single thought of fear has been known to
turn a person's hair gray overnight! Consider this other
example: A prisoner was told that if he consented to an
experiment and lived through it, he would be freed. They
wanted to see how much blood a person could lose and still
survive. The prisoner agreed, but when they made a small cut
on his leg and dropped water on the floor to simulate the
sound of blood dripping, he died the next day from sheer
mental fear.
These examples may sound extreme, but they serve to
illustrate the immense power of thought. Concentrated
thought power is capable of transforming you into whoever
and whatever you want to be. By harnessing the power of
thought, you can boost your efficiency and strength to new
heights.
But be warned: your mind is constantly bombarded with both
positive and negative thoughts. It's up to you to build a
positive mental attitude and keep negative thoughts at bay.
It's important to understand the power of your thoughts. Your
thoughts shape who you are and what you experience in life.
Negative thoughts, like anxiety and worry, can take over and
create a destructive environment. You can see the effects of
these negative thoughts in the faces of those around you. But
don't worry, by controlling your thoughts, you can change
your life.
By harnessing the power of your thoughts, you can achieve
amazing things. Good thoughts are constructive and will
attract positive people and experiences to your life. But the
opposite is also true, if your thoughts are negative, you will
attract negative people and experiences. Remember, your
28
thoughts are like invisible wires that influence you and
everyone around you.
If you want to succeed, you must focus on positive, highquality
thoughts. When you think positively, you will attract
people who share your mindset and help you reach your goals.
And when you are honest and positive, people will be more
likely to trust and believe in you.
It's time to take control of your thoughts and focus on the
good. Your future depends on it.
In today's fast-paced world, you know how valuable it is to
stay focused and concentrate on the task at hand. But did you
know that the power of your thoughts goes far beyond that?
Your thoughts can literally make or break your life.
When you allow yourself to become consumed by negative
thoughts, such as anxiety, worry, or despair, you'll start to see
the results of those thoughts reflected in your daily life.
Conversely, if you train yourself to focus on positive,
constructive thoughts, you'll start to see those same results
reflected in your life.
Think about it - have you ever met someone and immediately
known that you could trust them? Or conversely, met
someone and felt like you should steer clear of them? That's
your instincts at work, reacting to the subtle energy that
others put out into the world.
The good news is that you have the power to control your
thoughts, and by extension, control the energy you put out
into the world. When you cultivate thoughts of good will and
positivity, you'll naturally draw the same type of people and
situations into your life.
It's not always easy, but by training your mind to focus on
what's right, you'll be able to navigate the challenges of life
with grace and ease. And with time and practice, you'll find
that you can tap into a spiritual power that will help guide you
on your journey.
29
Remember, the world is full of invisible forces just waiting to
help you succeed. By concentrating your thoughts in the right
channels, you can tap into those forces and create the life
you've always dreamed of.
You have an incredible power within you, waiting to be
developed, that can bring you immense happiness. Many
people rush through life, unintentionally pushing away the
very things they desire. However, with concentration, you can
transform your life, achieve much more than you ever thought
possible, and all without exerting much effort. Take a moment
to look within yourself and discover the amazing potential you
possess.
In order to speak wisely, you need to concentrate your mind at
least partially on the subject at hand. Talking interferes with
the mind's ability to focus, as it takes your attention away
from your thoughts and towards external factors. The best
thoughts come from the deep silence of the subconscious
mind, where powerful, high-potency thoughts are generated.
Before you can speak wisely, it is necessary to be silent.
The person who is alert, well-poised, and can speak wisely
under difficult circumstances is the one who practices in
silence. However, most people do not know what silence is and
assume it's easy to attain. In reality, entering the silence
requires persistence and intelligent thought concentration.
Try focusing on the thought: In silence I will allow my higher
self to have complete control. I will be true to my higher self. I
will live true to my conception of what is right. I realize that it
is to my self interest to live up to my best. I demand wisdom
so that I may act wisely for myself and others.
In the next lesson, you will learn about the mysterious law that
links all of humanity through the powers of co-operative
thought and allows us to find companionship and friends.
30
Lesson Five - The Link Between All
Humanity Through Concentrated
Thought
You have the power to achieve anything you desire. The way
you think can make or break your success. This book will show
you how to think to achieve your goals.
You have the power to rule and attract success. The only thing
stopping you is your own mental barriers, which you can
control. Your thoughts connect you to an omniscient source,
and you have unlimited power to think.
Success is the result of certain moods of mind or ways of
thinking. You can control these moods and produce them at
will.
The power to think is what has evolved you to your current
state. You have the power to keep evolving and to create new
desires, which can be fulfilled. Concentrated thought can
accomplish seemingly impossible results and make you realize
your fondest ambitions.
Through deep concentration, you become linked with
thoughts of omnipotence, which helps to kill out your belief in
your limitations and drive away fear and negative thoughts.
You can build up a strong assurance that your every venture
will be successful. When you learn how to concentrate and
reinforce your thoughts, you control your mental creations.
These, in turn, help to shape your physical environment, and
you become the master of circumstances and ruler of your
kingdom.
You have the power to surround your life with whatever you
want, be it positive or negative. It all comes down to the
choices you make. As long as you desire what is right and just,
there are no walls that can keep you from reaching your goals.
It is important to keep in mind that temporary setbacks should
31
not deter you from pursuing your ultimate success. You need
to maintain an unwavering belief in your goals and stay clear
of negative thoughts such as fear and anger.
Your thoughts have the power to shape your reality, but they
must align with universal laws of thought and justice to be
successful. Otherwise, you may experience short-term results,
but they will not last.
Building a solid foundation of truth is essential to achieving
long-term success. Any plan that is not based on truth will
produce destructive vibrations, ultimately leading to failure.
All just causes succeed in time, even if they face temporary
setbacks. In difficult times, it is important to quiet your fears
and focus on upholding the dignity of your moral and spiritual
life.
Remember, where there is a will, there is a way. The more you
develop your willpower and align it with positive forces, the
higher it will lead you.
When things get tough and you feel discouraged, this is the
moment to show your resilience and take control of your
mood. By remaining calm, serene, and positive, you can
manifest the success you desire, as if it was already yours.
You don't always have to focus on your goals while you are
working on them. Sometimes, when your body is inactive, your
mind is more open to new ideas that can enhance your
chances of success. When you are working, you are likely
thinking in pre-established patterns, and you don't need to do
the work twice.
Negative moods can make your intuitions more active, as you
are not controlling your thoughts with your will. Everything
you do should have the approval of your intuition.
When you are in a negative mood, you tend to attract similar
thoughts, through the law of affinity. Therefore, it's crucial to
focus your thoughts on success and positive outcomes to
attract the same. If you haven't studied this subject, you might
32
think this is foolish, but the reality is that there are thought
currents that can bring similar thoughts together. Those who
focus on failure tend to attract it, by worrying, being anxious,
or being overactive. Such thoughts can only bring failure. By
learning the laws of thought and focusing on the good, the
truth, and success, you will make more progress with less
effort than ever before.
If you want to achieve more in life, you need to harness the
incredible power of your mind. There are forces within you
that you might not even be aware of, but with the right
mindset and knowledge, you can unleash them and achieve
incredible things.
To get started, you need to learn how to control your
thoughts. If you're feeling fearful, anxious, or discouraged, you
can take charge of your mind and overcome these negative
emotions. You can tap into invisible forces that will help you
remove any unfavorable appearances.
One way to gain better thought control is to focus on the
present moment. No matter what you're doing, try to think
only of that one activity. By doing this, you'll learn to control
your unimportant acts and establish habits that will help you
concentrate on the important things.
When you're feeling down, it's easy to let your mind wander
and get into mischief. But you can avoid this by organizing the
powers of your mind and keeping your focus on the task at
hand.
Your mind is a powerful tool that you can use to achieve
incredible success. By learning to concentrate and focus, you
can tap into the amazing forces within you and achieve your
dreams.
If you want to be happy and productive, you need to learn how
to concentrate. With concentration, time flies by and you
always have something to do. There's no time to dwell on past
mistakes or feel unhappy.
33
But concentration is not something that comes naturally. You
need to train your will to act with clarity, decision, and
promptness. To do that, you must observe what you're doing
with sufficient orderliness and accuracy. It's not difficult to
know what you're doing all the time if you practice
concentration with a reposeful deliberation and train yourself
to think clearly, promptly, and decisively.
Worry and haste are your enemies. They prevent clear thinking
and accurate action, which can't be imprinted on your mind.
But with practice, you can develop accuracy and
concentration of thought, as well as absolute truthfulness.
Claim your great heritage and enter into your birthright in
eternity. Life, truth, and force will permeate your life and make
you happy, busy, and successful.
34
Lesson Six - The Will to Do:
Training Your Concentration
The power of the human Will is beyond measure, and it is what
drives us to achieve great things. Today, what was once
thought impossible is now within our reach. The Will To Do is a
practical force that we can direct to determine our own future.
Just like electricity, we cannot see the Will To Do, but we know
it exists through its cause and effects. You use this power
every time you accomplish a task, whether you're aware of it
or not. With the Will To Do, you can achieve anything, whether
it's good or bad.
The Will To Do is an inner energy that controls all of your
conscious actions. What you choose to do directs your life
forces. Your habits, both good and bad, are the result of what
you will to do. If you want to improve your condition in life,
you must learn to direct your will towards positive actions.
The power of your Will is connected to all areas of knowledge,
activities, and accomplishments.
You've probably heard stories of people accomplishing
amazing feats in the face of adversity. Think of the farmer's
wife who, despite being frail and weak, single-handedly
removed objects from her burning home that later required
three men to handle. What allowed her to accomplish this
seemingly impossible task? The "Will To Do.”
The Will To Do is the force that drives human accomplishment.
It's what makes the impossible possible. When we learn to
concentrate our thoughts and direct our willpower towards a
specific goal, we become a force to be reckoned with.
Willpower is not just physical strength, but the ability to
control our thoughts and emotions, directing them towards
our goals. It is through the proper use of our willpower that we
gain the ability to control not only our physical actions but our
mental and moral forces as well.
Few people possess perfectly developed and balanced Will
35
Power, but we all have the ability to improve it. By studying
yourself carefully, identifying your weaknesses, and using your
willpower to overcome them, you can build a strong character
and personality.
To improve your willpower, follow these simple rules. When a
desire arises, consider whether it would be good for you. If it's
not, use your willpower to crush the desire. But if it's a
righteous desire, summon all your willpower to your aid and
crush all obstacles that stand in your way.
Slowness in decision-making is a common weakness of
willpower. It's easy to put off doing something, but successful
people know the importance of making quick decisions and
grasping opportunities when they arise. You can use your
willpower to bring about culture, wealth, and health. The
power to achieve anything you want is within your grasp.
For the next week, challenge yourself to make quicker
decisions in your daily routine. Set a specific time to wake up
and commit to rising at that exact time. Complete your tasks
ahead of schedule and don't wait until the last minute. This
exercise will help you to make decisions more easily and
quickly when it comes to bigger, more important matters.
Remember, even if you make the wrong decision, it's better
than procrastinating and not making a decision at all.
One thing that holds many people back from success is the
lack of initiative. They spend their days going through the
motions without ever taking risks or trying something new.
Don't be afraid to think outside the box and take action. The
more initiative you show, the more opportunities you'll have
to improve your life.
You are just as capable as anyone else to achieve success. You
have the willpower within you to claim the life you want. Don't
rely on others to help you get there. We all have to fight our
own battles. Those who take charge of their lives are admired,
while those who play it safe and shy away from risks are not.
Everyone's path is different, so take the time to analyze your
36
own opportunities and natural abilities. Create a clear plan for
improvement and stick to it until you've achieved your goals.
Don't make vague plans; make specific ones and follow
through with determination. By applying these suggestions,
you'll see significant changes in your life. Repeat this
affirmation to yourself daily: "Through my willpower, I dare to
do what I want." You'll be amazed at the positive impact it will
have.
To succeed in anything, you need to persevere. Many give up
just as they're about to succeed. Instead of diffusing your
energy through various channels, you should focus it all on
one. This means having a clear goal in mind and selecting a
path that leads you to that goal. It's not just about starting,
but finishing what you set out to do.
Perseverance requires the will to do. When you feel like giving
up, remind yourself why you started in the first place and
concentrate on that goal. It's important to make decisions only
when you're in a calm state of mind. If you have a quick
temper, count backwards to regain your calm. This requires
concentration, and it will help you to break the habit of losing
control.
Lack of perseverance is the lack of the will to do. It takes the
same energy to say "I will continue" as to say "I give up." The
moment you say the latter, your determination is gone. Every
time you allow your determination to be broken, you weaken
it. So when you notice your determination beginning to
weaken, concentrate on it and make it continue with sheer
willpower.
When was the last time you were angry? Take a moment to
reflect on what you said and thought. Try to see yourself from
an outside perspective. One exercise you can do is to write out
the scene as a story and then judge the character who played
your part. This can help you develop the willpower to control
your emotions and reactions.
Willpower is not something that only certain people possess.
It's the gathering of mental energy and the ability to
37
concentrate it at one point. The amount of willpower you have
is determined by how much you demand of yourself. You don't
need to develop more willpower if you are constantly using all
that you have.
Remember, the way in which you use your willpower
determines your fate, as your life is shaped by the decisions
you make. Without proper use of willpower, you have no
independence or firmness and become a machine for others
to use. Learning to use your willpower is more important than
developing your intellect. Those who haven't learned to use
their willpower cannot make decisions for themselves and are
easily swayed by others, leading to a lack of accomplishment.
On the other hand, those with a trained will take their place
among the world's leaders.
38
Lesson Seven - The Power of
Concentrated Mental Demand
The key to achievement lies in your mental demand. Your
attitude can impact your facial expressions, your actions, your
physical condition, and your life. You want to develop your
mental powers to effect positive change, and that's precisely
what we aim to teach you in this book.
The concentrated Mental Demand is a powerful force,
controlled by laws and subject to improvement through
systematic effort. To bring this force to bear, you must direct
every power of your mind towards a single goal, using every
possible element at your disposal.
When you focus your desire and exclude all distractions, you
will hone your Will, capable of accomplishing whatever you
wish. Let us show you how to unlock the incredible power of
your own concentrated Mental Demand.
If you want to stand out from the crowd and become a success
in life, you must do more than just the average. It's not the
person with the longest legs or the strongest muscles that
wins the race, but the one with the greatest desire force. You
can best understand this by thinking of an engine, slowly
building up speed until it reaches its maximum. The same is
true for runners - the one with the greatest intensity of desire
will win.
Successful people haven't always been those with great
physical strength or superior genius. They've won their
success by being determined to achieve results and not
allowing setbacks or difficulties to discourage them. They
never lose sight of their goals and are constantly urged on to
greater achievements by a silent force of wonderful power
within them.
This force can be developed by anyone and can help
overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. The more you
become acquainted with it, the better strategist you become,
39
the more courage you develop, and the greater the desire
within you for self-expression in many areas of life. So, focus
on what you desire and put forth your best effort to achieve it
- that's the key to rising above mediocrity and becoming a
success.
To unlock your full potential and achieve success, you must
tap into the power of your inner self. Once you become aware
of this force within, you will gain a clearer vision of what you
want, and you will have the ability to control your external
conditions. Mental resolve is the key to unlocking your
potential. Once you've set your sights on a goal, you must
never let go of your determination until you've achieved it. To
make your plans work, you will have to harness all your mental
powers, including patience and perseverance.
Perseverance is the essential ingredient in any success story.
To persevere, you must be unwavering in your commitment.
You must focus all your mental energy on the task at hand and
not let anything distract you from your goal. Quitting early is
not an option, as it will only weaken your future efforts.
The Mental Demand is a force that may seem intangible, but it
is the most powerful force in the world. It is a force that you
can use freely without any cost. It is not an illusion, but a
potent energy that can guide you, counsel you, and give you
courage when you are in doubt or fear. The Mental Demand is
the driving force that supplies the energy needed to achieve
your goals. With each demand you make, you strengthen your
brain and draw external forces to you. You have a vast
storehouse of possibilities within you, and the Mental Demand
turns them into realities. It provides you with the tools you
need and shows you how to use them. So, if you want to
achieve greatness, you must learn to make the Mental Demand
work for you.
Have you ever experienced a moment when your thoughts had
the power to create events? For instance, have you had a
friend unexpectedly bring up a topic you were planning to
discuss, or take an action you had just thought about? These
40
events are not coincidences but are the result of your Mental
Demand launched by strong concentration.
The power of the Mental Demand is absolute and seemingly
unlimited. It causes the conditions and opportunities
necessary to achieve your purpose to materialize. But you
need to demand resolutely to take the first step towards
getting what you want. If you never want anything, you'll get
little in life.
The Mental Demand, if used for only righteous purposes, can
bring a fuller life. But once you've made a Mental Demand,
never let it falter. Doubt can creep in and cause the demand
force to weaken. Take all the time you need to build a strong
foundation and hold steadfastly to your demand until your
need is supplied.
The Power of Mental Demand is not some mysterious force
that is out of reach for you. It is simply a concentrated power
that can be harnessed by anyone. It is not supernatural but
rather, requires the development of your brain centers. The
outcome is certain, as long as you possess a strong and
determined mindset.
If you haven't recognized this force within you, then you have
not achieved much in life. It is this "something" that sets
successful people apart. It is this subtle power that creates a
strong personality.
To achieve greatness, you must demand it. Once you make
your demand, believe that it will be fulfilled. It all depends on
you. You will be rewarded according to your efforts. The Power
of Mental Demand can bring you everything you desire. You
can become whatever you decide to be. You are in control of
your own destiny.
Adopting the right mental attitude is crucial. With your ability,
you can achieve success. And every average person, the
people you see around you, can be successful, independent,
worry-free, and their own boss if they can manage to do just
two things.
41
As you strive towards achieving your goals, you should never
be content with what you have accomplished so far. Always
aim higher and push yourself to do better. Secondly, it's
essential to develop a strong belief that the word "impossible"
doesn't apply to you. This mindset builds confidence and
empowers you to harness the full potential of your mind.
It's natural to wonder how to build self-confidence in your
mind, especially if you've been discouraged for months or
years. However, the truth is that it can be done, and many
people have already accomplished it. Look at the example of
Littre, one of the most respected names in France. He
compiled the great French dictionary, a monumental work of
learning, when he was already over sixty years old. If Littre
could do it, so can you. Don't resign yourself to a monotonous
routine that leads to nowhere. Push yourself to pursue your
dreams, no matter your age or circumstances.
42
Lesson Eight - Attaining Mental
Poise through Concentration
When you concentrate, you are calm, collected, and in control.
But if you let your mind wander, you become easily upset and
cannot access your subconscious wisdom. To work in
harmony, your conscious and subconscious minds need to be
in a state of mental quiet. Concentration brings you peace of
mind.
If you struggle to stay calm, try reading literature that has a
calming effect. When you feel your poise slipping, repeat the
word "Peace" and focus on that thought to regain control.
Remember, you cannot achieve perfect concentration without
first finding inner peace. Practice thinking and acting
peacefully until you are at peace with the world. Once you
reach this state, you will be able to concentrate on anything
you set your mind to without difficulty.
When your mind is at peace, you are confident and unafraid.
No negative thought can influence you. You can cast aside fear
and anxiety and think of yourself as a spark of the Divine
Being, as a manifestation of the "One Universal Principle" that
fills all space and time. You are a child of the infinite,
possessing infinite possibilities.
Write on a piece of paper, "I have the power to do and to be
whatever I wish to do and be." Keep this thought in your mind
and you will find it to be of great help.
It's important to concentrate, but don't let it consume you. It's
easy to bring your work home with you, but doing so can burn
you out quickly. Don't let work distract you from the other
important aspects of your life.
It's common for people to become so absorbed in their
business that they miss out on other aspects of life. When you
go to church, you might not hear the preacher because your
mind is elsewhere. When you go to the theater, you might not
43
enjoy it because your mind is on your business. When you go
to bed, you might be unable to sleep because you're thinking
about work. This is the wrong kind of concentration, and it's
dangerous. When you're unable to get something out of your
mind, it can become unwholesome. Any thought held
continuously causes weariness of the flesh. It's a mistake to let
a thought rule you instead of ruling it. Those who cannot
control their concentration will suffer.
Maintaining focus and self-control are key to success. It is
important to never become so absorbed with one thing that
you cannot lay it aside and take up another.
Concentration means paying attention to a chosen thought.
Although everything that passes before the eye makes an
impression on the subconscious mind, unless you focus on
something in particular, you will not remember what you saw.
In other words, you only see and remember what you think
about.
Self-study is valuable, and it is important to be aware of your
negative habits. Whether it's complaining or thinking that
you're not good enough, these thoughts should be cast aside
and replaced with thoughts of strength. Your mental condition
shapes who you are, so it is essential to monitor how much
time you waste on worrying, fretting and complaining.
When you think a negative thought, immediately change to a
positive one. If you start to think of failure, change your
thoughts to success. You have the germ of success within you,
and you should care for it the same way a setting hen broods
over her eggs.
In the world we live in, it's easy to forget that our thoughts
have a tangible effect on the world around us. When you focus
on something, you turn all the vibrations of your energy
towards it. This is why it's so important to learn to
concentrate. The power of thought is amazing, and by
mastering your thoughts, you can become a force of nature.
When you enter a room, you can make the people around you
44
feel as you do. This is because the vibrations of the way you
feel are felt by others. If you enter a room feeling unimportant,
nobody will remember you, because they are not attracted to
you. But if you enter a room feeling magnetic and focused,
others will feel your energy. This is why it's so important to
cultivate positive feelings and thoughts.
Enthusiasm is a force that can move mountains. If you look at
the most successful people in history, you'll find that they all
possessed an enthusiasm that was infectious. This is a force
that's latent in everyone, but it needs to be aroused. You can
cultivate enthusiasm by concentrating your thoughts and
meditating with sincere desire.
Remember that the way you feel can affect the people around
you. If you radiate positive vibrations, you'll attract positivity
in return. The key to success is to think, speak, and act as if
you're already successful. This is the power of concentration,
and it's a force that can change your life.
You are who you think you are, not just who others see you as.
Though you may be able to deceive others, you cannot
deceive yourself. Just like how you need to think about raising
your hand before actually doing it, you need to control your
thoughts to control your life. It's not hard if you focus on what
you think about.
The key to concentration is interest and a strong motive. The
more motivated you are, the better your concentration will be.
Successful people are those who are able to concentrate,
while those who cannot concentrate become helpless and
reliant on charity.
You have the power to train yourself to centralize your
thoughts and develop your brain power. You can increase your
mental energy and become efficient, or you can become a
slacker, a drifter, a quitter, or a sleeper. The choice is yours.
When you concentrate your thoughts, you create a fixed
power that allows you to avoid wasting time on unproductive
thoughts. Instead, you focus on the thoughts that will bring
you what you desire, and they become a reality. Remember,
45
whatever you create in your mind will eventually materialize.
In the past, people could drift through life without
concentrating, but now it's a different story. In today's world,
we must be efficient and concentrate our efforts if we want to
achieve true success.
Do you ever find yourself feeling like the things you want are
just out of reach? It can be easy to get discouraged and give
up. But what if you made the effort to reach for what you
want, with all of your strength and focus? You might be
surprised by what you can achieve.
The truth is, we often limit ourselves. Our current situation is a
result of our inner thoughts and beliefs. But the good news is
that we can control our external circumstances. We have the
power to attract what we want by concentrating our thoughts
and becoming aligned with the universal forces that can help
us achieve our goals.
Think of a race you’ve seen before. Each competitor is focused
on reaching the finish line before anyone else. This kind of
concentration is what you need to achieve your goals. By
choosing to concentrate on a specific thought and shutting
out all others, you can accomplish anything you set your mind
to.
To get started, you need to be in the right frame of mind. You
need to be calm, focused, and receptive. Take your time and
work deliberately, especially when you’re tackling something
new. Rushing and pushing too hard can actually hinder your
progress. When you allow yourself the space to think and work
without pressure, you open yourself up to new thoughts and
ideas. So, try to relax and concentrate on what you want. You
might be surprised by how quickly things start to fall into
place.
46
Lesson Nine - Overcoming Bad
Habits with Concentration
Habits play a crucial role in our lives. They can be both your
greatest strength and your worst enemy when it comes to
concentration. Many of us are slaves to our habits, blindly
following them without giving much thought to their impact.
We go about our lives on autopilot, never realizing that these
habits can be changed or modified to better suit our needs.
The goal of this chapter is to help you examine your habits and
determine which ones are helping or hurting you. By making
necessary adjustments, you can improve even the habits that
are currently not benefiting you, and take the good ones to the
next level.
One thing to remember is that all habits are shaped,
consciously or unconsciously, by your will. We are always
creating new habits, sometimes without even realizing it. The
more frequently you repeat an action, the more ingrained the
habit becomes in your psyche. Over time, it becomes a part of
your personality and can be difficult to break. However, by
focusing your mind on the opposite of the habit, you can break
it with the power of concentration.
You are a creature of habits, and habits are what shape your
destiny. They are the practical, emotional, and intellectual
routines that you have systematically organized over the
years, either for your well-being or to your detriment. As you
go about your day-to-day activities, your habits carry you
irresistibly toward your future.
Just like how you can easily fold a piece of paper repeatedly in
the same spot, you can bend and curve your life through your
habits. Every time you repeat an action, you leave a crease,
making it easier to repeat the action in the future. Your mind
and willpower are spiritual functions, but they are carried out
through your physical body. Your brain is a material
correlative of your will and intellect, making it possible to form
habits of thought and habits of will.
47
As you grow older, your habits become stronger, and you may
find yourself working like an automatic machine. Your habits
define your life and your identity, and they can influence the
expectations that others have of you. You are solely
responsible for the habits you form, and it is equally easy to
develop good habits as it is bad habits. If everyone could
recognize the importance of forming positive habits, the world
would be a happier place where everyone could achieve
success.
Habits form more easily during your younger years, but if you
have already passed that phase, there is no better time than
now to take control of your habits. It is never too late to
develop the right kind of habits and set yourself up for
success.
As you pursue your goals, you can benefit from these
principles:
First Principle:
Your nervous system can either help or hinder you, so make it
your ally.
Second Principle:
When forming or breaking habits, take decisive action to get
the best results. Surround yourself with positive influences,
avoid bad habits, and scrutinize your behavior. Every time you
resist temptation, you weaken the power of bad habits and
strengthen your resolve.
Third Principle:
Never make exceptions until your new habit is firmly
established. Build your willpower through repetition and
fortitude.
Fourth Principle:
Act on your resolutions and follow your aspirations. Keeping
your commitments can build good habits and make them part
of your everyday life. When you let an opportunity pass, you
48
waste the chance to build new habits and deepen your
resolve.
Fifth Principle:
To maintain your willpower, it's important to exercise it
regularly. The more you do, the more control you'll have over
your habits. Every few days, challenge yourself with a difficult
task just for the sake of doing it.
As a young person, you have the perfect opportunity to
develop positive habits and lay the foundation for a bright
future. Focusing on building good habits now will help you
avoid becoming a bundle of harmful ones later on. This is
because youth is a malleable stage that can be molded into
something great. Take advantage of this time to concentrate
on creating positive habits that will serve you well in the years
to come.
Habits can make or break you. They have an incredible impact
on your life, for better or for worse. They shape your character
and determine your success or failure. The power of habit is
undeniable - we are all creatures of habit. In fact, habit is the
deepest law of human nature.
Habits make things easier. They require less effort and less
mental energy. The more deeply ingrained a habit becomes,
the more automatic it becomes. This is an economizing
tendency of our nature, and it helps us conserve our energy.
Good habits keep us safe and prevent us from making
mistakes. For example, when crossing a crowded street, the
habit of stopping and looking prevents us from being hit by a
car.
Habits also improve our performance. They enable us to work
more efficiently and accurately. A chauffeur, for instance,
needs to develop good habits to be able to drive his car safely.
In an emergency situation, he knows what to do without
thinking. Habits reduce the risk of accidents, prevent fatigue
and help us achieve greater accuracy.
Therefore, it is important to develop good habits and stick to
49
them. The right habits will help you achieve your goals and be
successful in life.
Habits can have a profound impact on your life. They can
either make you stronger or weaker. While some habits can be
helpful, you do not want to become a slave to habits of a
trivial nature. For instance, Wagner required a certain costume
before he could compose corresponding parts of his operas.
Schiller could never write with ease unless there were rotten
apples in the drawer of his desk from which he could now and
then obtain an odor which seemed to him sweet. Gladstone
had different desks for his different activities, so that when he
worked on Homer he never sat among habitual
accompaniments of his legislative labors.
If you want to overcome undesirable habits, two things are
necessary. You must have trained your will to do what you
want it to do, and the stronger the will the easier it will be to
break a habit. Then you must make a resolution to do just the
opposite of what the habit is. Therefore one habit must
replace another. If you have a strong will, you can tenaciously
and persistently concentrate on removing the bad habit and in
a very short time the good habit will gain the upper hand.
To overcome a habit, you must grapple with the matter as
earnestly as you would with a physical enemy. You must go
into the encounter with all tenacity of determination, with all
fierceness of resolve--yea, even with a passion for success
that may be called vindictive. No human enemy can be as
insidious, so persevering, as unrelenting as an unfavorable
habit. It never sleeps, it needs no rest.
Habits can be difficult to break and they can have a negative
impact on your life. They grow with you and the longer you
have them, the harder they are to get rid of. But just like
parasites, they can be eliminated with a violent separation and
crushing.
When life gets tough, it's easy to develop bad habits. It's
important to make an effort to think and speak positively, even
if it doesn't come naturally. If you make the tiniest effort,
50
you'll be backed up by a tremendous power that can lift you to
a new level of realization. Progress is not made in the easy,
contented moments of life because it requires no special
effort to keep in tune. It's when you're in the midst of trials
and misfortunes that it's important to remember that you're
linked to a great power. If you live as you should, nothing can
occur in life that could permanently injure you or disturb your
peace. Always remember that you have unlimited power
within you that's ready to manifest itself in the form that you
need at the moment.
When faced with a difficult problem, it's best to be silent like a
child and wait for inspiration from within. You'll know how to
act when the inspiration comes, and it's always wiser to wait
for guidance from within than to act on impulse from without.
51
Lesson Ten - Achieving Business
Results through Concentration
You might think that successful businesses are simply lucky
breaks, but that's rarely the case. Similarly, failures are not
just a matter of bad luck. Most failures could have been
predicted if the founders had done their due diligence.
Starting a profitable business from scratch is a challenge, and
it's rare that everything goes according to plan. You might
need to pivot and make adjustments as you go. But as you
grow your business, your ability to achieve your goals also
grows. You develop an unwavering drive to succeed.
Starting a business with only a vague notion of how to conduct
it is common, but filling in the details as you go along requires
concentration. As you address one issue, others will arise that
require your attention. By tackling these challenges one by
one, you cover the field of your first endeavor, and new
opportunities will open up for you.
Desire is a great creative force that keeps stirring us to take
action. Pure, intense, and sustained desire is what drives
success. If you fail to fulfill your first desire, you will not
achieve the second. By materializing your desires, you will
broaden and strengthen yourself.
To become a master of business, you must learn to do well
whatever you attempt. Achieving success is not a matter of
luck, but rather the result of developing the power to do
bigger things. A skilled business director with a thorough
knowledge of their industry can easily oversee operations and
identify areas for improvement. If work is not being completed
to the necessary standards, it is then easy to apply the
remedy.
To achieve success in business, you need to concentrate your
efforts and utilize all your mental faculties. The more you use
them, the more they increase, giving you more power to solve
problems as they arise.
52
If you're currently working for someone else but want to start
your own business, take the time to carefully consider what
you want to do. Once you've identified your desire,
concentrate on it, put forth the necessary effort, and work
toward its materialization. Believe in yourself and your ability
to succeed, and approach big undertakings with determination
and grit. Even if you don't achieve complete success at first,
aim high and you'll still accomplish a great deal.
Remember that there is a law that opens the way to the
fulfillment of your desires, but you must actively work towards
their realization. By setting your heart on your purpose,
directing your efforts with all your intelligence, and
maintaining your determination, you'll be on the path to
realizing your ambitions. And when you feel like a success,
you'll attract the recognition and resources you need to
continue succeeding.
You have the ability to achieve what others have achieved,
and perhaps even surpass them. To do so, you must maintain a
strong desire to succeed and be passionate about your work.
Always strive for the greater good, and you will find that
success will come naturally.
To truly succeed in business, you must have the right attitude.
Expect great things from yourself and others, and you will find
that people will rise to the challenge. Remember that it's not
the quick bursts of effort that count, but the consistent and
steady work that will bring you to success.
Trust in your own judgment and make decisions based on what
you believe is right. Stick to your conclusions and don't waver
in your judgment. When you make mistakes, learn from them
and continue to move forward. By doing so, you will develop a
well-balanced mind that others will trust and respect. In
business, reliability is key. Make sure to always be firm,
decisive, and trustworthy.
If you are looking to start your own business, your reputation
is your greatest asset. Along with a healthy body, it is the most
important thing you can have. Make sure to maintain a good
53
reputation, and you will find that doors will open for you.
Building a successful business can be easier than you think, as
long as you are able to focus your mental energy on it. It's the
people who are unsure of their goals that often end up failing.
People often say that business is stressful, but it's not the
work itself - it's the worry and uncertainty that take a toll on
your nerves. If you plan your work and take breaks when
needed, you'll enjoy the process much more.
By focusing on your daily tasks, you'll be able to tackle even
bigger projects in the future. People who make a point of
accomplishing something every hour of the day make
progress. Your goal should be to take one step forward each
day. You don't even need to know the exact path - as long as
you're committed to moving forward, you'll find your way.
Many people underestimate their own potential. Every day,
people do things that have never been done before. We're
making progress faster than ever before. It used to take
decades to build a successful business, but now it can take
only months or years.
If you plan your day carefully, you'll be amazed at how much
you can accomplish. When you concentrate your mind and
commit to a certain amount of work, you'll be able to produce
a higher quantity and quality of work. I've shown that most
businesses could achieve the same amount of work in six
hours that they currently do in eight, without expending any
additional energy. Approach each task with confidence and
determination, and you'll find yourself with extra time to plan
even bigger things.
As you work towards success, it's important to remember that
you can benefit greatly from the ideas of others in your
chosen field. By learning from those who have come before
you and generating valuable ideas of your own, you can
contribute to the collective knowledge of your industry. After
all, we are all heirs to the ideas of those who have come before
us.
54
To inspire confidence and determination in those around you,
it's essential to embody these qualities yourself. By setting an
example of persistence and positivity, you can inspire others
to do the same.
Building a successful business requires more than just going
through the motions. You need to be able to envision your
success and work towards it with passion and purpose. Every
successful enterprise began as just a vision in the mind of its
creator. By working out the details in your mind and creating a
clear idea of your goals, you can turn your vision into a
tangible reality.
To truly succeed in business, it's important to plan ahead and
stay ahead of the competition. Progress requires foresight and
careful planning, and failing to prepare for the future can put
you at a disadvantage. However, if you're feeling exhausted or
burnt out, it could be a sign that you're not in harmony with
your work. Trying to force yourself to do something that
doesn't align with your temperament or training can be
draining and counterproductive.
Engage in work that you're passionate about and support
causes that align with your beliefs. By doing this, you'll find
pleasure in your work and perform at your best, all while
serving humanity.
Success in business is not left to chance, but rather comes
from a scientific approach to management. Utilize your mental
faculties and know that you have complete control over your
actions. Don't shy away from difficult challenges and always
strive to develop your own mind and those around you.
Embrace responsibility as it's necessary for personal growth.
The world is your playground, so step up and conquer it. Avoid
dodging or flinching from challenges, as your higher self never
wavers. Take on difficult tasks with courage and you'll discover
your true strength.
55
Lesson Eleven - Concentrating on
Courage
As you know, courage is a key element of success. It gives you
persistence, confidence, and the mental strength to achieve
your goals. Without it, you may struggle with financial, mental,
and moral difficulties. To avoid this, you need to concentrate
on building your courage. This means looking at every
challenge as an opportunity, rather than an obstacle. By doing
so, you'll be able to draw on all your mental and moral
qualities to succeed.
However, if you lack courage, you'll be more likely to view
challenges as impossible obstacles. This weakens your
confidence and undermines your ability to succeed. You'll be
more susceptible to failure and will likely draw to yourself all
the negative qualities that contribute to it. That's why it's so
important to cultivate courage in yourself. You need to
develop a strong, resolute attitude that can weather any
storm.
Courage is about the Will To Do. It's not about having more
energy than someone who is cowardly. It's about training
yourself to focus your mental and moral forces on the task at
hand. With courage, you can direct your efforts thoughtfully,
deliberately, and steadily towards your desired goal. This will
attract all the forces of success towards you, helping you to
overcome obstacles and achieve your dreams.
Avoid spending time with people who lack courage as they
have a habit of being fearful when faced with new challenges.
Instead, surround yourself with individuals who exude
courage, as they are never afraid.
Start your day with the belief that you have no reason not to
be courageous. If you have any fearful thoughts, dismiss them
as quickly as possible. Make it a habit to never think negatively
about yourself or others. When faced with a difficulty, new or
old, keep the thought of "I am courageous" in mind. If any
56
doubts arise, banish them immediately. You have control over
your mind and can choose to affirm that you have courage
because you desire it, need it, use it, and refuse to be a
weakling.
Losing courage is never justified. The problems that you will
face without it are much greater than those that you can
overcome with courage. Therefore, it is true that the only thing
you have to fear is fear itself.
Don't let anyone else's opinion affect your confidence in
yourself. They cannot know your abilities or what you can
achieve with your own resources. You are the only one who
can truly put yourself to the test and discover your own
potential. Don't allow anyone else to dictate your worth.
Many great accomplishments throughout history were once
believed to be impossible, until someone proved otherwise.
Once you understand the laws and principles behind
something, anything is possible. If it was truly impossible, you
wouldn't even be able to conceive of it.
The moment you allow someone else's influence to sway you
from your own convictions, you lose your confidence and the
courage to act on your own beliefs. You become a follower
instead of a leader, lacking the determination and drive that
you need to succeed. Instead of being self-reliant, you become
timid and this invites failure. When you allow someone else to
guide your actions, you give up your own power and become
unable to make sound judgments. Don't let anyone else rob
you of your courage and determination without giving you
anything in return. You deserve to trust yourself and follow
your own path.
To harness your full potential, focus on the opposite of fear,
want, poverty, and sickness. Doubting your abilities can
prevent you from building the strong mental forces necessary
for success. Fear is a major obstacle to attracting positive
forces and achieving your goals.
Belief in your abilities is essential for realizing your potential.
57
Developing resolute courage allows you to confidently pursue
your goals and overcome any obstacles that arise. Summoning
the strongest forces of courage will eliminate opposing forces
and help you succeed.
Courage is always within your reach. Believe in yourself, claim
your courage, and put it to use. To succeed in business,
visualize and work towards success. Courageous individuals
can inspire whole teams to achieve great things, because
courage is contagious.
In order to become a person of courage, you must be willing to
face life's trials and temptations head on. By doing so, you will
develop sound judgment, personal influence, and a forceful
character. With these qualities, you may even become a
mentor to those around you.
Depression and melancholia can be harmful and make you
unhappy. However, you can overcome these states by
concentrating on your higher self and disconnecting from
harmful force currents. You can also drive away negative
moods by choosing and fully concentrating on an agreeable
subject. With willpower and thought control, you can
accomplish anything you set your mind to. You possess a
wonderful inherent power within you, and there is never any
sufficient cause for fear, except ignorance.
Remember, every evil is a product of ignorance, and everyone
who possesses the power to think has the power to overcome
ignorance and evil. The pain we suffer from doing wrong is
simply a lesson of experience. When you become depressed, it
is evidence that your thought faculties are combining
improperly and attracting the wrong force currents. With
concentration and focus, you can overcome these negative
thought patterns and live a happier, more fulfilling life.
To focus on positive thoughts and overcome negative ones,
you can train your willpower and concentrate on happy
subjects. By choosing to think of subjects that are aligned with
your higher self and its abilities, you can cultivate a more
positive and empowering mindset. This practice can help you
58
improve your concentration and focus, and ultimately lead to
a happier and more fulfilling life.
59
Lesson Twelve - Concentrating on
Wealth
It's important to note that man was never intended to be poor.
Obtaining wealth under the right conditions can greatly enrich
your life. Everything has value, and the mind's power, like
wealth, can be used for good or evil. It's crucial to rest and
rejuvenate your mind, but too much rest can lead to laziness
and aimless thoughts.
If you acquire wealth through unjust means, you're not using
your resources wisely. However, if your wealth comes from
ethical sources, you'll be blessed. Wealth is often a goal for
many people, as it can help them dress well, live in
comfortable surroundings, and attract friends. In fact,
surrounding yourself with pleasant and inspiring surroundings
is important for proper thought and concentration.
To acquire wealth, you must surround yourself with positive
influences that will help you grow and develop. Surrounding
yourself with a culture of success will help mold you into a
successful individual.
Throughout history, the most accomplished individuals have
been those with wealth, either inherited or earned. Without
wealth, it can be difficult to achieve high ideals and ambitions.
Physical labor can be limiting, but financial freedom allows for
more leisure and greater opportunities.
Wealth is often the product of hard work and achievement,
but it is not always the result of physical labor. Thousands of
people work hard without ever achieving financial success.
The key is to use your mental faculties to recognize
opportunities and make the most of them. Without utilizing
your mental resources, you will remain a laborer, directed by
those who are able to harness their mental powers.
You cannot accumulate wealth simply by saving from your
earnings. Many people spend their whole lives scrimping and
saving, only to waste their energy and vitality in the process.
60
Consider a man who used to walk to work, an hour each way,
to save ten cents a day. He wasted an hour and a half, which
wasn't a profitable investment unless the physical exercise
yielded him great returns in the way of health. If he had spent
that same amount of time concentrating his efforts to
overcome his unfavorable business environment, he could
have planted his feet firmly on the path to prosperity.
One of the biggest mistakes people make is associating with
those who fail to bring out the best in them. When the social
side of life is developed too exclusively, and recreation or
entertainment becomes the leading motive, it can lead to
habits of extravagance rather than economy, wasting physical,
mental, moral, and spiritual resources instead of conserving
them. As a result, motivation is lacking, God-given powers and
forces are undeveloped, and poor judgment is brought to bear
upon all the higher relationships of life. Financially, this often
results in being a consumer rather than a producer, sometimes
even a parasite.
It's unfortunate that some people have to learn the hard way
before they understand the laws of life. It's rare that anyone
learns from the mistakes of others. Instead, they have to
experience the consequences firsthand before they can apply
the lessons they learn to better their lives.
If you want to accomplish anything worthwhile, you can't
spend all your time on the details. You need to set aside time
for reflection and deliberate, concentrated effort to
constantly improve your methods. That's what successful
people do.
You can learn why poverty has always been your companion.
Your appearance, your surroundings, and your beliefs are all
attracting poverty to you. What you may not realize is that
your thoughts and your environment can have a powerful
influence on your life. Your thoughts are moving forces, great
powers that can either attract or repel wealth. If you hold
thoughts of poverty, you will attract poverty. But if you make
61
up your mind to be wealthy, you will instill this thought into all
your mental forces, and use every external condition to help
you achieve your goal. So if you desire wealth, you must
attract the forces that will help you secure it, starting with
your thoughts.
If you're like most people, you probably think that having
money makes it easy to make more. However, this is a common
misconception. In fact, 90% of people who start businesses
fail. Just having money is not enough to accumulate more. You
need to be trained to seek out and use good investment
opportunities. If you inherit money, you're more likely to lose
it. But if you've earned it yourself, you not only know its value
but also have the power to use it wisely and make even more.
Today, business success depends on foresight, good
judgment, grit, firm resolution, and settled purpose. But never
forget that your thoughts are as real a force as electricity.
Make sure your thoughts are positive so that you send out
good energy to others. If you don't, you won't enrich others
and therefore don't deserve to be enriched yourself.
If you try to get everything you can from others without giving
anything back, you become selfish and mean. This will only
make you miserable and you won't enjoy your acquisitions.
What you take from others will eventually be taken from you.
All obligations have to be met fairly and squarely. We cannot
reach perfection until we discharge every obligation in our
lives. So why not willingly give a fair exchange for all that we
receive?
Once again, the first and last step in acquiring wealth is to
surround yourself with good influences. This includes good
thoughts, good health, a good home and business
environment, and successful business associates. Cultivate
the acquaintance of men of big caliber by bringing your
thought vibrations about business into harmony with theirs.
This will not only make your society agreeable but also sought
after. Once you've formed intimate friendships with clean,
reputable men of wealth, entrust them with your surplus
62
earnings for investment until you have the initiative and
business acumen to successfully manage your own
investments. By doing so, you'll find your place in life, and with
a secure financial future, you can use your resources to make
the road easier for those who follow in your footsteps.
You possess the potential to achieve great things, and it all
starts with tapping into the energy within your mind. Think of
your mind as an engine, much like that of a car. The gasoline in
the car's engine doesn't move the car until a spark ignites the
gasoline. Similarly, in your mind, you have the capacity to
achieve great success. You don't need to be a genius to do so;
you just need to have hope, self-confidence, and the
determination to do something. These qualities serve as the
spark that ignites the energy within your mind, propelling you
past the word "impossible" and into the realm of success.
63
Lesson Thirteen - You Can
Concentrate, But Will You?
Do you ever wonder why some people achieve success while
others don't? The truth is that we all have the ability to
concentrate and focus, but the key is whether or not you will
use that ability. It's one thing to have the potential to do
something, but another thing entirely to actually do it. Many
people have untapped potential that they never use, and it's a
shame.
So, what's holding you back from achieving the success you
want? Take a close look at yourself and your shortcomings.
Sometimes, it's just a small obstacle that's preventing you
from reaching your full potential. If you're not where you want
to be, take a hard look at why. Have you been waiting for
someone else to lead the way for you? If so, it's time to change
your way of thinking.
To succeed in life, there are two things that are absolutely
necessary: energy and the will to succeed. Without either of
these, it's impossible to achieve your goals. Don't expect an
easy path to success - the hard knocks are what develop your
courage and moral stamina. Those who live an indolent and
slipshod life never develop these qualities, because they've
never faced difficult situations. The world needs people who
are willing to put in the work and overcome obstacles, so don't
be afraid to take on the challenge.
You have the ability to create favorable conditions, rather
than waiting for them to happen on their own. Success is not
achieved by those who say "It can't be done," but by those
who forge ahead despite the naysayers and show that "it can
be done." Remember, "The Lord helps those who help
themselves." The road to success is not without obstacles, but
these stumbling blocks can be transformed into stepping
stones by the person who says, "I can and I will." Even those
with physical handicaps have achieved great things, so ablebodied
individuals have no excuse not to succeed.
64
Perseverance is an unbeatable force. The path ahead is not
always clear, but with concentration and belief in yourself, any
obstacle can be overcome. However, if you believe that
obstacles are unsurmountable, you won't even try or only
make a half-hearted effort that leads nowhere.
Many people are hesitant to start a project unless they're
confident they will succeed. This is a mistake because we can
never be certain of our abilities until we try. There may be
obstacles in your way, but don't lose courage. Remember,
there is always a way around the difficulty; it's up to you to
find it. If you approach tasks with little effort, instead of giving
it your all, you will not succeed. Every challenge requires a
concentrated effort that taps into all the power within you.
This is the kind of focus that leads to success.
When it comes to tackling a challenge, most people are
already defeated before they start. They anticipate obstacles
and focus on them instead of finding ways to overcome them.
This approach only increases the obstacles in their path. But
have you ever started something that you thought would be
difficult, only to find it surprisingly easy once you got started?
This happens all the time. Things that seem insurmountable
from afar often turn out to be simple once you begin. So, as
you set out on your journey, believe that the road ahead will
be clear, and if it isn't, you'll find a way to clear it. Successful
people have cleared their own paths without the resources
you have available to you today.
The key to success is determination. Stick to your path and
resolve to accomplish what you set out to do. Don't let a few
setbacks discourage you. Determination, concentration, and
whole-hearted effort are what lead to success. Goethe once
said, "He who has a firm will molds the world to himself." And
Victor Hugo said, "People do not lack strength, they lack will.”
Success doesn't require extraordinary skill, but rather, it
requires tremendous effort and determination. If you're doing
your best, you're already on the right track. Don't lose courage
or let the challenges you face today discourage you. The tides
65
are always changing, and someday they'll turn in your favor if
you're willing to put in the work. Remember, work develops
you and increases your courage. Without it, life would become
monotonous.
If you want to move ahead in life, you must not think of your
current position as your final destination. Instead, focus on
developing qualities that will help you seize opportunities
when they come your way. Be vigilant and always on the
lookout for opportunities, because what you focus on, you
attract.
If you have the qualities of a true leader, someone out there is
looking for you to fill a position of responsibility. When that
opportunity arises, give it your full attention and show that
you can concentrate your powers. Display confidence and
determination, for a man who believes in himself is destined
for success. No matter the circumstances, he will always make
it to the top.
66
Lesson Fourteen - The Art of
Concentrating: Practical Exercises
Have you ever tried to hold your mind on a single thought for
an extended period of time? It's a challenge, but one that can
greatly benefit your ability to concentrate. Start by choosing a
positive thought, like health, and focus on it for a set amount
of time. Use a timer to keep track, and don't allow any other
thoughts to intrude. As you become more proficient, increase
the duration of your concentration.
By focusing your thoughts on health, you can develop a more
positive mindset and begin to see yourself as you want to be.
It may be difficult at first to ignore any negative thoughts or
health issues you may have, but with practice, you can shut
them out and concentrate on the positive. This mental
exercise can help you form a clearer image of what you want
to achieve and move towards it.
Remember, the habit of forming mental images is a powerful
tool that successful people have used for centuries. Your
thoughts influence your actions, so it's essential to mold
positive images to create a positive life. If you focus on
negative thoughts, such as poverty or fear, your life will reflect
those images. But by concentrating on positive thoughts, you
can manifest positive outcomes in your life.
When you are deeply concentrated, you become connected to
the universe's great creative spirit, and its energy flows
through you, bringing your creations to life. Your mind
becomes attuned with the infinite, registering cosmic
intelligence and receiving its messages.
This state of deep concentration is highly desirable. When
you're connected to the supra-consciousness, you become
flooded with divine power. The supra-consciousness registers
higher cosmic vibrations and is often referred to as the
wireless station that records messages from the universal
mind.
67
Few people ever reach this stage of concentration, and fewer
still know it's possible. They believe that concentration is
limited to a single subject, but this deeper concentration that
brings us into harmony with the Infinite produces and
maintains our health.
Once you connect with your supra-consciousness, you
become the controller of your thoughts. The thoughts that
come to you are higher than human thoughts, and it's often
called Cosmic Consciousness. Once you experience it, you
never forget it. Although it requires a good deal of training to
reach this state, it becomes easier each time, and over time
you can become possessed of power that was unknown to you
before. You can direct the expression of almost infinite power
while in this deeper state of concentration.
When you focus your attention on an object, your every action
is in the direction of attaining that object. You generate force
that can bring you what you want. So, center your energies
upon a single thing to the exclusion of everything else, and
you'll see much better results than if you scatter your
attention.
Before we dive into the exercises, let's answer a question.
Maybe you've had a long day at work and you're too tired to
practice. But don't worry, you can still do it. If your job was
mostly mental, your mind might keep running even after
you've clocked out. This makes it hard to rest and recharge.
It's true that certain thoughts activate specific parts of your
brain. Other areas are left alone, giving them time to rest. To
really unwind, you should try doing something different in the
evening. This will give your tired brain cells a break and let the
unused ones do some work. By focusing on new ideas, you'll
give your tired brain a break and feel more energized.
Once you learn to control your thoughts, you can change them
with ease, just like changing clothes.
To achieve focus, start by shutting out all outside distractions
and concentrating solely on the subject at hand. This starts
68
with gaining control over your body and bringing it under the
direct control of your mind, which in turn is governed by your
will. Believe in the strength of your will and use it to reinforce
the power of your mind. When your mind is properly
strengthened, it becomes a more effective transmitter of
thought, with greater force.
The best time to concentrate is after you’ve read something
inspiring that puts you in a positive and elevated state of
mind. To get started, make sure you’re in a comfortable and
relaxed environment with good ventilation. Lie down without a
pillow and ensure that every muscle in your body is relaxed.
Take slow, deep breaths, filling your lungs with fresh air,
holding the air in for as long as you comfortably can, and then
exhaling slowly in a rhythmic manner. Take five minutes to do
this and let the Divine Breath flow through you, cleansing and
rejuvenating every cell in your brain and body.
Are you ready to improve your concentration and focus?
Mastering your thoughts is the key to changing them, just like
changing your clothes. The first step is to shut out outside
thoughts that are not related to your focus. To control your
intention, gain control over your body, and bring it under the
direct control of your mind. Strengthen your mind by
exercising your willpower. When your mind is properly
strengthened, it becomes a more powerful transmitter of
thought.
The best time to concentrate is after reading something
inspiring, as you are mentally and spiritually exalted in the
desired realm. Ensure your environment is conducive to
concentration by opening the windows and ensuring there is
fresh air. Lie down on your bed without a pillow, relax all your
muscles, and breathe slowly, filling your lungs comfortably full
of fresh air. Exhale slowly and rhythmically, letting the divine
breath flow through you, cleansing and rejuvenating every cell
in your brain and body.
Do not let any doubts or fears enter your mind. Instead,
believe that what you wish to accomplish is going to manifest.
69
Whenever you concentrate, believe that it is already a success.
With regular practice, you will find yourself becoming the
master of concentration. Train your body to obey the
commands of your mind through exercises that help you gain
control of your muscles. This practice will be of immense value
to you as you learn to accomplish anything you set your mind
to.
To develop your concentration skills, try these exercises:
Exercise 1: Find a comfortable chair and see how still you can
keep your body. It may be challenging at first, but with
practice, you can sit without making any involuntary
movements. Start by sitting still for five minutes, then
increase the time to ten and fifteen minutes. Remember, never
strain yourself to keep still, always relax completely.
Exercise 2: Sit up straight with your head up, chin out, and
shoulders back. Raise your right arm to shoulder level and
point it to your right. Look at your fingers and keep your arm
still for one minute. Repeat with your left arm. When you're
able to keep your arm still, increase the time to five minutes.
To make it easier, turn your palm downwards and keep your
eyes fixed on your fingertips.
Exercise 3: Hold a small glass of water with your fingers and
extend your arm in front of you. Focus your eyes on the glass
and try to keep your arm perfectly still for one minute.
Increase the time to five minutes and repeat with your other
arm.
Exercise 4: Throughout the day, monitor your body and make
sure your muscles stay relaxed and at ease. Strive to maintain
a poised, self-assured demeanor rather than appearing
nervous or tense. Eliminate any unnecessary gestures or
movements, as they indicate a lack of control over your body.
Once you gain this control, you'll notice how ill at ease others
appear who lack it. Take note of those who interview you and
observe how they lack poise.
Eliminate any habits of twitching or jerking any part of your
70
body. You may find yourself making many involuntary
movements, but you can quickly stop them by focusing on the
thought, "I will not.”
If you're easily disturbed by noises, practice self-control when
the door slams or something falls. View these situations as
opportunities to strengthen your self-control. You'll find many
exercises like this in your daily routine.
Exercise 5: Fist Exercise - Sit at a table and clench your fists,
resting them on the table with your thumbs bent over your
fingers. Focus your gaze on your fists and gradually extend
your thumb, giving your full attention to the movement.
Continue to extend your first finger, then your second, and so
on until you have opened all of your fingers. Then, reverse the
process by closing your fingers one at a time until your fist is
back in its original position. Repeat this exercise five times
with your left hand and then your right hand. You can increase
the number of repetitions gradually over a few days.
These exercises may seem monotonous and tiring at first, but
they are important for training your attention and gaining
control over your muscular movements. You must focus your
attention on each movement of your hand; otherwise, the
exercise loses its value.
Exercise 6: Finger Exercise - Place your right hand on your
knee with your fingers and thumb closed, except for your first
finger, which should be pointing in front of you. Slowly move
your finger from side to side while keeping your attention fixed
on the end of your finger. You can create a variety of exercises
like this to plan and perform. The key point to keep in mind is
to keep the exercise simple and your attention firmly fixed on
the moving part of your body. Your attention may want to drift
to something more interesting, but you must control it and
keep it focused on the exercise.
The ability to concentrate and focus can give you full control
over your body and mind, making you the master of your
inclinations, not their slave. By controlling yourself, you can
control others. Develop your willpower until you have it under
71
control, and you will become a giant compared to someone
who lacks willpower. Put forth your best efforts and be
satisfied with nothing less. Once you have gained control over
your attention, you have achieved a great victory that will
benefit you throughout your life.
Exercise 7: Smelling the Roses - When you're outside, pay
attention to the different smells around you. Take note of the
different fragrances you smell, and try to distinguish between
them. Once you've identified several smells, focus on just one
particular scent. You'll be surprised at how much your sense
of smell intensifies when you concentrate on one thing.
However, it takes a special kind of awareness to do this
exercise properly. You should shut out everything else from
your mind except the scent you're focusing on.
There are plenty of opportunities for exercises that develop
your sense of smell. When you're outside, be mindful of the
different odors you smell. Even though the air is full of
different smells, focus intently on the one you've chosen. This
exercise will create a strong connection between the fragrance
and the experience, so that the scent will remind you vividly of
this exercise in the future.
The goal of these exercises is to increase your ability to
concentrate. With practice, you'll find that you can control
your thoughts and direct your mind just as easily as you can
control your arm.
Exercise 8: Concentrating on Your Body - Lie down and let
your muscles relax completely. Concentrate on the beat of
your heart and nothing else. Think about how this powerful
organ pumps blood throughout your body. Imagine the blood
flowing in a stream down to your toes and up to your fingers.
After some practice, you will actually feel the blood circulating
throughout your body.
If you feel weakness or discomfort in any part of your body,
focus your thoughts on sending extra blood to that area. For
example, if your eyes feel tired, imagine blood flowing from
your heart to your head, then streaming out to your eyes. This
72
exercise can increase your strength and vitality. Some people
have even gained control over their hearts to the point where
they could make it stop beating for several minutes, but this is
not recommended for beginners.
I have found the following exercise helpful before bedtime and
after waking up: say to yourself, "Every cell in my body is full
of life; every part of my body is strong and healthy." This
positive self-talk has helped many people improve their
health. You become what you think you are. If you think of
yourself as sick, you will be sick. If you imagine yourself as
healthy and vigorous, that image will come true. You will be
healthy.
Exercise 9: Concentrating on Sleep - The water method is a
simple but effective way to fall asleep. Fill a glass with clear
water and put it on a table in your sleeping area. Sit next to the
table and focus on how calm and serene the water looks.
Picture yourself becoming just as calm and peaceful. In no
time, you'll feel your nerves start to relax and you'll be able to
drift off to sleep. If you're having trouble sleeping, imagine
yourself becoming drowsy. Another method is to imagine
yourself as something inanimate, like a hollow log in a quiet
forest. These exercises are great for anyone with insomnia.
Just remember to tell yourself that there is no difficulty in
falling asleep, and banish all fears of insomnia.
By now, you should be aware of the potential benefits of
concentration and how it can impact your life.
Exercise 10: Concentrate on Saving Energy and Appearance -
When you're not fully focused, you may find yourself moving
your hands, tapping your feet or twirling your mustache. Take
a moment to observe your facial expressions in a mirror. Are
you frowning or causing wrinkles to appear in your forehead?
Notice how others needlessly twist their faces when they talk.
Any facial movement that causes your skin to wrinkle will
eventually cause a permanent wrinkle. Your face is like a piece
of silk; you can fold it a few times and it will straighten out of
itself. But, if you continue to make a fold in it, it will be
73
impossible to remove it. Concentration can help you avoid
these habits and save your energy and appearance.
By Concentrating, You Can Stop the Worry Habit
If you worry over the smallest things, concentrate on this for a
few minutes and see how needless it is. When you start to
become irritable or nervous at the slightest thing, stop
yourself instantly. Start to breathe deeply and say, "I will not
be so weak. I am the master of myself." You can quickly
overcome this condition by focusing on concentration.
Exercise 11: By Concentration You Can Control Your Temper -
If you're someone who gets easily provoked and never tries to
control yourself, take a minute to think it over. Does it do you
any good? Do you gain anything by it? Doesn't it put you out of
balance for some time? This behavior will eventually make you
despised by all those who have dealings with you. Everyone
makes mistakes, so instead of becoming angry at them, just
say, "Be more careful next time." This thought will be
impressed on them, and they will be more careful. Continual
complaining about mistakes will only make the situation
worse. You can conquer all lack of self-control by learning to
concentrate.
You Can Avoid Useless Gestures, Worrying over Trifles,
Nervousness, and Irritability
Many of you reading this may think that you are not guilty of
these faults, but if you watch yourself carefully, you will
probably find that you are. You can benefit greatly by
repeating this affirmation each morning: "Today, I will try not
to make useless gestures, worry over trifles, become nervous
or irritable. I intend to be calm, and no matter what the
circumstances, I will control myself. Henceforth, I resolve to
be free from all signs that show lack of self-control." At night,
review your actions during the day and see how well you
realized your aim. Initially, you may have to plead guilty of a
violation a few times, but keep working at it, and soon you will
find that you can live up to your ideal. After you've gained selfcontrol,
it's still necessary to repeat the affirmation in the
74
morning and match your conduct with it in the evening.
Continue this process until the habit of self-control is so firmly
fixed that you could not break it even if you tried. Many people
have told me that this affirmation and daily review made a
wonderful difference in their lives. You too will notice the
difference if you follow these instructions.
Exercise 12: Practice Talking Before a Mirror - Make two marks
on your mirror on a level with your eyes, and think of them as
two human eyes looking into yours. Keep your head perfectly
still and focus all your thoughts on it. Stand tall and think of
yourself as a reliable person. You want to appear as someone
that anyone would have confidence in. Don't let your
appearance justify the remark, "I don't like his appearance. I
don't believe he can be trusted." While standing before the
mirror, practice deep breathing, make sure there's plenty of
fresh air in the room, and you are literally feasting.
Exercise 13: Controlling Your Sensations - Close your eyes and
imagine the sensation of feeling cool. Now, imagine feeling
cold. Finally, imagine feeling freezing. You may notice yourself
shivering just by thinking about it. But, can you also imagine
feeling the opposite? Imagine feeling so warm that you start to
sweat, even in the coldest of weather. It's possible to train
your imagination to do this, and it can help you handle difficult
situations with ease.
There are many other exercises like this that you can try. For
example, if you start to feel hungry or thirsty but can't eat or
drink, don't dwell on your cravings. Instead, picture yourself
finishing a delicious, satisfying meal. When you're in pain, try
distracting yourself with something else instead of focusing on
the discomfort. If you make these exercises a regular habit,
you'll soon have much better control over how you feel
physically.
Exercise 14: The Eastern Way of Concentrating - Find a chair
with a high back and sit upright. Place your finger on your right
nostril and take a deep breath, counting to ten as you inhale
slowly. Then, exhale through the right nostril, counting to ten
as you release the breath. Repeat this exercise with your left
nostril, doing at least 20 repetitions each time.
Exercise 15: Controlling Your Desires - One of the hardest
things to control is desire. However, by learning to control
your impulses, you can strengthen your powers of
concentration. It's natural to want to share what you know
with others, but try to resist the urge. Instead, focus on your
own tasks and goals. Avoid gossiping about others, and if you
learn something negative about someone, keep it to yourself.
Even if your opinion is correct, it's important to exercise selfcontrol.
When you hear good news, resist the urge to tell everyone
immediately. Practice suppressing your desire to share the
news until you're fully ready to talk about it. This kind of selfcontrol
can be an asset in business and personal relationships.
If you tend to get excited easily, practice receiving unpleasant
news without reacting emotionally. Remember, "He that ruleth
his spirit is greater than he that ruleth a city.”
Exercise 16: To improve your concentration, it's important to
train yourself to think clearly. Reading a short story or an
article in a newspaper and then summarizing it in as few words
as possible can be an excellent exercise to help you achieve
this. Reading with close attention to detail is key in this
exercise. If you find it difficult to summarize what you've read
in writing, you can also try expressing it orally. Go to a quiet
room and deliver the summary as if you were talking to
someone. These exercises will help you develop your
concentration and improve your ability to think.
Once you've practiced these simple exercises, challenge
yourself by reading a book for 20 minutes and then writing
down what you remember. You may find it difficult to
remember many details at first, but with practice, you will be
able to write a detailed summary of what you've read. A
helpful practice is to read short sentences and write them
down word for word. As you improve, you can gradually
increase the length of the sentences you read and summarize.
76
Through consistent practice, you can gain remarkable powers
of concentration. Remember that to remember every word in
a sentence, you must focus solely on that sentence and push
all other thoughts aside. This power of inhibition alone is
worth the effort of practicing these exercises. To be successful
in this endeavor, it's important to cultivate the ability to
imagine or picture what you read, to let the mountains and
rivers you read about come to life in your mind.
Exercise 17: You will learn how to overcome bad habits
through concentration. If you have a habit you want to break,
close your eyes and visualize your real self standing before
you. Then, practice the power of affirmation by telling yourself
that you are not a weakling and that you can stop the habit if
you want to. Acknowledge that the habit is bad and that you
want to break it. As you imagine someone else giving you this
advice, you will see yourself as others see you, and the habit
will lose its power over you. You will find it easier to take
delight in breaking bad habits by forming the mental image of
controlling yourself as another person might. Many people
have successfully broken their drinking habits in this way.
Exercise 18: Watch the Clock - Take a few minutes out of your
day and sit in a comfortable chair with a clock that has a
second hand on the table in front of you. Focus on the second
hand and follow it as it goes around. Your only goal for the
next five minutes is to think about the second hand and
nothing else. This exercise is great when you only have a few
minutes to spare, but it can be challenging to keep your mind
from wandering. The extra effort of will power required to stay
focused is what makes this exercise valuable. Try to stay as
still as possible during this exercise, as it can help quiet your
nerves and promote relaxation.
Exercise 19: Faith Concentration - Believing in your ability to
concentrate is key to achieving success. With the above
exercises, you have developed your concentration power to a
great extent, and you can become an even stronger believer in
its power.
77
If you have a desire or wish you want fulfilled, start by
picturing it clearly in your mind. Then, concentrate your
thoughts on achieving it. Have absolute faith that your desires
will be realized. Don't analyze why or how it will happen, just
believe that it will happen according to your faith.
A word of caution: never doubt your ability to succeed. Picture
what you want as already yours, and it will surely become
yours. Self-distrust can be overcome by focusing on your
higher self, which is not affected by doubt. Instead of wasting
your mental energy on negative thoughts, focus on finding
ways to make the best of any situation. Most of our troubles
are imaginary, and the habit of fearing them only attracts
more negative experiences. By concentrating on the positive,
you can triumph over all obstacles and discover your true
potential.
By concentrating your thoughts and attaching yourself to your
higher self, you will overcome self-distrust and find the power
to achieve your goals.
78
Lesson Fifteen - Concentrating to
Prevent Forgetfulness
Do you ever find yourself forgetting important tasks or
information? It's not uncommon, but the reason behind it may
surprise you. Forgetting is often the result of a lack of
concentration on the task at hand. In order to remember
something, it must make a deep impression in your mind. This
is where association comes into play.
Let's say your spouse asks you to mail a letter for them. If you
simply put the letter in your pocket without thinking about it,
chances are you'll forget to mail it. However, if you make a
conscious effort to associate the task with something else,
you're more likely to remember. For example, you could say to
yourself, "I will mail this letter when I pass the mailbox on the
corner of Main Street.”
This same principle applies to more important tasks as well. If
someone gives you instructions to visit someone during lunch,
you can associate the task with a landmark or specific action.
For instance, you could say to yourself, "When I reach the
corner of Blank Street on my way to lunch, I will turn right and
visit Mr. Smith." By making a clear association between the
task and something else, you'll be more likely to remember it
when the time comes.
To accomplish something, you must concentrate your mind on
the task. To be successful in anything, you must be able to
focus your entire attention on the idea you are working on. If
you don't concentrate your mind on your purpose when you
conceive it, you will forget it. That's because you remember
only what makes a deep impression. To make a deep
impression, associate certain ideas that are related to your
purpose in your mind.
Your mind is governed by laws of association, like the law that
ideas that enter the mind at the same time emerge at the same
time. One idea assists in recalling the others. If you don't
79
concentrate your mind sufficiently on your purpose at the
moment when it was formed, you won't remember what you
want to.
You can train yourself to remember by concentrating your
attention on your purpose and by following the laws of
association. Deepen the impression at the very moment your
purpose enters your mind. Surround it with all possible
association of ideas so that each one reinforces the others.
Once you form this habit, it becomes easier to center your
attention and to train your memory. Your memory will be a
valuable asset in your everyday work instead of failing you at
crucial moments.
To improve your memory concentration, try this exercise. Find
a picture, put it on a table, and study it for two minutes. Focus
your attention on the picture, taking in every detail. Then,
close your eyes and try to recall everything you can about the
picture. Think about what the picture is depicting, whether it
looks realistic, and what objects are in the foreground, middle
ground, and background. Pay attention to details like color
and shape. Open your eyes and correct any mistakes you
noticed. Close your eyes again and see if your mental image
matches the original picture. Repeat this exercise until your
mental image matches the original picture in every way.
When we connect with nature, we learn more about ourselves.
By tuning in to her voice and using our inner sense, we awaken
to our own hidden strengths. Listening and concentrating are
our most powerful interior tools, and they help us connect
with the highest parts of ourselves. Unfortunately, many
people don't understand this, and modern society often
focuses on other senses at the expense of this one. However,
children instinctively know the value of concentration. When
faced with a tough problem, they often pause and become
still, appearing to listen for a solution. When they do this, they
tap into their inner power and are able to accomplish their
tasks with greater ease. You too can cultivate this skill by
taking time to pause and focus your attention.
80
Concentration is a key trait that successful people possess.
Take doctors, for example, who carefully consider their
patient's symptoms and wait for inspiration to strike, often
without even realizing it. This approach leads to accurate
diagnoses. Similarly, writers hold their plots in their minds and
wait for the "aha" moment of illumination. If you want to tackle
complex problems successfully, you too must develop this
ability to concentrate.
81
Lesson Sixteen - Fulfilling Your
Desires through Concentration
Have you ever wished for something and felt like it was
impossible to achieve? According to a spiritual law, the desire
to do something implies the ability to do it. This means that
you already have the power within you to achieve your
deepest longings.
Think of yourself as having a magical lamp like Aladdin's that
can grant your every wish. It may seem like a fairy tale, but the
truth is that you possess God-given powers that, once
developed, can reveal priceless knowledge and unlimited
possibilities for success.
You deserve to have an abundance of everything, not just
enough to survive. All your natural desires can be fulfilled. The
Infinite wouldn't create wants that cannot be supplied. Your
power to think is the essence of all created things, and every
thought has the potential for greatness. By developing your
thoughts and connecting to mysterious powers beyond your
understanding, you can achieve true progress and success in
life.
When you sit in silence, you become aware of something
beyond your thoughts, something that uses thoughts as a
means of expression. While many catch a glimpse of this, few
attain the steady state of mind necessary to fully comprehend
it. Silent, focused thought is more powerful than spoken words
since speech can distract and draw attention away from the
mind's ability to concentrate.
It's essential to rely on yourself and seek the infinite within. By
doing so, you can gain the power to solve your problems, and
you'll never have to give up, as the infinite always has
resources available. Failure stems from seeking success in the
wrong places because you're unaware of your true potential.
The infinite helps only those who help themselves, so always
have faith and hope in its assistance.
82
Concentrate on what you want, and you'll get it. Weak people
are controlled by circumstances, while strong individuals
control their circumstances. You can either be the conqueror
or the conquered. By following the law of concentration, you
can achieve anything you desire, even that which seems
impossible.
In order to turn your dreams into reality, you must
concentrate on them with laser focus. Start by forming a clear
mental image of what you want to accomplish. This thoughtseed
will attract other thoughts of a similar nature. Build
associated thoughts around it and continue to concentrate on
it with unwavering determination.
Try thinking about your goal for five minutes each day,
shutting out all other distractions. Believe that you will
succeed and that any obstacles can be overcome. By utilizing
the natural laws of the thought world, you can tap into
incredible power.
Writing down your thoughts can also be a helpful tool in
developing your concentration skills. Start with the subject
closest to your heart and continue to add to it until you have
explored the topic fully. This habit will help you build the
strong focus needed to achieve your goals.
As you focus your thoughts on your desired outcome, you will
attract new ideas and methods to help you achieve it. This is
the law of attraction at work. Just like an advertiser seeking
ideas, you too can attract the resources you need to succeed.
As you form a strong mental image of your desire, you plant
the thought-seed which begins working in your interest.
Eventually, that desire will materialize if it's in harmony with
your higher nature.
It's important to concentrate only on achievements that won't
harm others. The way to success is through justice and
consideration for others. If you focus on what you want and
believe that you can achieve it, the path will open up for you.
By holding the thought of success in your mind every day, you
83
create a pattern that will eventually materialize. But don't let
doubt and fear become associated with your thoughts, as they
can be destructive. With time and practice, you will create the
conditions for success and find happiness by becoming the
master of your circumstances instead of their slave.
Some of the ideas presented in this book may seem strange or
even absurd to you, especially if you are new to this way of
thinking. But instead of immediately dismissing them, give
them a try. You might be surprised at how well they work.
Before anything can become a reality, it must first be created
in the mind. Think of an inventor who must envision their idea
before bringing it to life. Or an architect who mentally plans a
house before drawing it up.
One successful entrepreneur started with only thirteen cents
and no credit. Yet he built a profitable business within ten
years. His success came from two things: a belief that he
would succeed and hard work. Even when he faced bankruptcy
and creditors pressing him for payment, he maintained a
confident attitude. He would visualize certain people paying
him by a certain date, and they always did. He trusted that his
concentration of thought could influence others and rarely did
he ever end up disappointed.
When it comes to achieving your goals, concentration is key.
By focusing all of your mental energy on the task at hand, you
open yourself up to help from sources you may not even be
aware of. And don't forget the wise words of Jesus, who said
that when you pray for something, pray as if you've already
received it, and you'll see it come to fruition.
84
Lesson Seventeen - Developing
Ideals through Concentration
It's natural to have certain ideals and goals in mind. And, it's
crucial to realize that the success of those aspirations is
determined by how well you concentrate on them. When you
concentrate on your ideals, you are able to manifest them into
reality. Keep in mind that your thoughts and beliefs hold the
power to shape your life.
It's important to remember that your actions and decisions,
whether conscious or not, are your own responsibility. Every
step you take is a determining factor for your future. This
valuable lesson emphasizes the importance of concentration
and avoiding any unnecessary waste of effort. By being
mindful of each step, you can ensure that you are on the right
path towards achieving your goals.
Concentration is what brings your ideals to life. By working
towards your goals with focus, you can bring them into reality.
And, remember that it's never too early to start preparing for
your future. The ideals you form today will have a significant
impact on your future.
It's important to realize that any harm you cause to others is
ultimately harmful to yourself as well. Your ideals and beliefs
shape your thoughts and actions. Every time you change your
ideals, you are changing your thought process as well. So, it's
important to hold onto your ideals and beliefs to maintain a
sense of direction and purpose.
Finally, remember that your will-power is strengthened by
holding onto your ideals. When you lose sight of your ideals,
you also weaken your will-power. So, focus on your ideals and
beliefs, and use them to guide you towards achieving your
goals.
Many people fail to achieve their goals because they don't
hold on to their ideals long enough to make them a habit. But,
when you focus all your mental energy on your ideal and block
85
out all other distractions, you can turn it into a reality.
As the saying goes, "I am that which I think myself to be." Your
ideals are reflections of your innermost thoughts and desires.
The laws of matter and spirit are not the same; ideals cannot
be broken like material objects. By keeping your ideals in mind,
you ensure a positive future.
Human beings were not meant to suffer; we only suffer
because we disobey the laws of nature. We are aware of these
laws, so we cannot plead ignorance. Why do we break them
then? Because we fail to pay attention to the ideals that are
presented to us by the Infinite Spirit.
Life is a continuous journey of growth and self-discovery. You
have the power to choose whether you want to be happy or
miserable along the way. It all depends on how you respond to
the silent whispers of your innermost thoughts and feelings.
Don't search for noble thoughts in books or other people, but
within yourself. The most beautiful and inspiring ideas are
already present within you; all you need to do is let them
flourish.
To achieve anything, you must put in hours of focused,
consistent, and persistent thought. You must take the time to
examine yourself and identify your weaknesses.
Wishing won't get you over a fence; you must climb. Similarly,
if you want to escape the rut of a dull and monotonous life,
you must climb out of it.
If you find yourself standing still or moving backward, it's up to
you to figure out what's wrong. Don't blame others or feel
sorry for yourself. These are the thoughts of failure.
Instead, focus on the fact that those who have achieved what
you desire have done so through hard work. Don't pity
yourself; hold yourself accountable. Remember, you are the
only one you can truly count on.
86
Lesson Eighteen - Mental Control
through Concentrated Creation
At a recent banquet of inventors, brilliant minds shared their
visions of what could be accomplished in the future. One
inventor spoke of the incredible possibilities of the wireless
telephone, predicting that distance would soon become
irrelevant. He even suggested that we could talk to someone a
thousand miles away and forty fathoms below the surface in a
submarine. When he asked if anyone doubted his vision, no
one spoke up. These inventors weren't being polite; they
genuinely believed in the power of their ideas to materialize.
These inventors' visions led them to believe that someday we
might be able to transmit messages from one person to
another through mental control. If we can send wireless
messages a thousand miles, why shouldn't we be able to
project thoughts just as easily?
In the future, businesses may employ highly developed
individuals to send out influences. These influences will be so
powerful that employees may become partly controlled by
them. As you develop your mental powers, you can tap into
these helpful forces and use them to draw in success. You'll
also be able to send suggestions to your employees and
friends, who will receive them unconsciously. If you have a
strong personality, they may carry out your suggestions as if
you had spoken them out loud.
In any company, it's important for everyone to work together
to achieve the best possible outcome. When everyone is on
the same page, the atmosphere is filled with a high standard of
workmanship. You need someone to direct everyone towards
the same goal, but they don't have to micromanage. Instead,
they must possess the mental power of control over others.
When writing a business letter, you should aim to engage the
receiver's interest. Adding a word or two can make a letter
more compelling and elicit a response. It's not just about the
87
content of the letter, but the spirit it conveys. The intangible
something that defies analysis is the projected thought of the
master, which brings back the harvest it claims.
To help your friend or loved one succeed, you can use
visualization techniques. Imagine them in the position they
desire and visualize their weaknesses turning into strengths.
Take some time each day to send positive, uplifting thoughts
their way. Your mental energy can spark their motivation and
help them achieve their goals.
Sending positive and influential suggestions to another person
can go a long way. However, the way they act on those
suggestions is ultimately what determines their success. You
have the power to motivate and inspire, but it is up to them to
take action.
Life is a continual cycle of growth and progress. Every
accomplishment, no matter how small, builds your confidence
and ability to achieve greater things in the future. As a leader
or business owner, it's essential to continuously improve and
develop your skills. By doing so, you inspire trust and
confidence in those around you, creating a culture of success.
Your mental power can generate enthusiasm and a sense of
purpose in others, which can ignite their motivation to achieve
great things. Use your positive energy to inspire and uplift
those around you, and you'll be amazed at what can be
accomplished together.
When you're able to control your thoughts, you gain a power
greater than physical strength. Your mind has the ability to
direct and govern other forces towards achieving your goals.
No matter how strong you are, the mental forces of your
environment can affect you. You cannot remain neutral to
these influences. If your workplace is unhelpful, it can be
harmful to your productivity. That's why changing your
position can sometimes be the best thing for you.
Humans were not meant to live in isolation. If you're alone
with your thoughts, your mind can become narrow and your
88
mental abilities can weaken. Isolation can even lead to mental
health issues. Children who only associate with older people
will begin to imitate their actions, and the same is true for
older people who associate with younger people. If you want
to retain your youth, you need to surround yourself with
youthful influences. Like attracts like all over the world.
The power of thought is a vital component of both personal
and business success. Any enterprise needs not only physical
effort, but also mental effort to achieve its goals. Therefore, it
is essential that all employees are on the same page and share
similar ways of thinking. This enables them to work together
more efficiently and support one another to achieve their
objectives. A cohesive team that is focused on a common goal
is essential to creating a perfect organization.
In order to create such an organization, great leaders must
first inspire a spirit of cooperation among their team
members. This is achieved by demonstrating mental control
and convincing their assistants of its value. A bond is formed
between them as they work together towards a shared
objective, and they begin to profit from their combined effort.
Together, they can achieve much more than any individual.
If your business has the right spirit, you can influence your
employees' thoughts and ideas. Your methods and ideas can
become theirs, as your mental forces shape their work. This
mental energy is just as powerful as any physical force in
nature, and it can lead to great results.
As a modern business leader, you understand the importance
of fostering a positive and productive mindset in your
employees. Wasted time can be turned into valuable
concentrated effort that benefits both parties. A spirit of
fairness is crucial for the future of business.
To ensure that you are hiring the right people, take the time to
evaluate their capacity for efficient and cooperative work.
Look for applicants who have faith in themselves and avoid
those who may be obstructive to your success.
89
It is important to remember that dwelling on past difficulties
and spending time in negative company can attract bad
influences that hinder your progress.
Consider hiring inexperienced individuals who have not
developed bad business habits. They can be easily guided and
learn new methods more effectively.
Efficiency experts can be valuable in training employees and
familiarizing them with proven methods that have been
perfected over time.
Remember, the attitude you project has a significant impact
on your success. With the power of concentration, you can
generate positive forces and control your thoughts to achieve
your goals.
You may not be aware of all the forces that surround us. But as
time goes by, our understanding of these forces is only going
to increase. We're talking about psychic forces that are full of
possibilities that we can't even begin to imagine. If you want to
harness these higher powers and forces, you need to believe
in mental control, learn as much as you can about it, and put it
into practice. By doing so, you can direct your life in ways you
never thought possible and set a positive example for future
generations to come.
90
Lesson Nineteen - Developing a
Concentrated Will
In this Lesson, you will learn a practical and effective method
to develop your willpower. With consistent practice, you can
transform your will into a powerhouse that attracts incredible
opportunities. The exercises provided will strengthen your will
and enhance your concentration abilities. Even the simplest
exercises can yield remarkable benefits. Remember this, "In no
respect can a man show a finer quality of willpower than in his
own private, intimate life." Your willpower determines whether
you will be just or unjust, charitable or judgmental, and
whether you live up to your highest standards. By training
your will, you can overcome temptations and master your
thoughts and actions. Therefore, it is essential to incorporate
exercises to train your will in your daily life.
It's vital to understand that developing your willpower
requires your personal commitment and effort. No one can do
it for you. To succeed in these exercises, you must approach
them with a serious and dedicated mindset. While I can guide
you through the process of training your will, your success
depends on how much you master and apply these methods.
In order to train your willpower, find a quiet room where you
won't be disturbed, grab a notebook to take down your
observations and have a watch to keep track of time. For the
first exercise, choose a convenient time of day and sit in a
chair for ten minutes, looking at the door-knob. It may feel
strange and difficult to sit still for that long, but keep as still as
possible. You'll notice that your mind will wander, but keep
redirecting your focus back to the door-knob. Repeat this
exercise for six days, taking note of your progress each time.
On the second day, note that sitting quietly should be easier
and the time should pass more quickly. By the third day, you
may find it harder to concentrate as your mind may revert
back to your daily activities. Keep practicing and banishing
foreign thoughts until you feel a sense of control and power.
91
By the fourth day, you may notice that you can concentrate on
the door-knob right away and have more self-confidence.
Keep increasing the intensity of your concentration each day
until you're ready for another exercise.
Before starting a new exercise, summarize how successful you
were in controlling your thoughts and willpower. Paying close
attention to your mind's activities is an excellent practice for
strengthening your concentration and focus.
For this exercise, you will need a pack of playing cards and
some time set aside each day to complete the exercise. Start
by taking the pack in one hand and laying the cards down on
top of each other as slowly and evenly as you can, making sure
that each card completely covers the one underneath. You
should aim to do this exercise for six days.
On the first day, you may find the task to be tedious and tiring,
requiring your utmost concentration to complete. You might
feel the urge to lay the cards down faster, but it's important to
go slowly and make sure each card is placed carefully. The
exercise requires patience, but the benefit is lost if the cards
aren't placed properly. At first, your movements may be jerky
and impetuous, but with practice, you'll gain easy control over
your hands and arms. You may even notice that you're
acquiring a new sense of calmness and patience.
On the second day, you'll start laying the cards down slowly
and you'll find that with practice, you can lay them down
much faster. However, it's important to continue to lay them
down slowly and to watch yourself to ensure that you don't
hurry up. The slow, steady movement may be wearisome, but
soon you'll find that you can go slowly or quickly at will.
On the third day, you may still find it difficult to go slowly,
especially if you're an impulsive person. The exercise may still
be tiresome, but it will help you concentrate on disagreeable
tasks. Writing notes about your progress can be helpful.
On the fourth day, you may notice that you're beginning to
place the cards in a more mathematical way, but you'll also
92
find that you're getting a little careless and need to be more
careful. Command your will to concentrate more, and you'll
find that it's not so hard to bring it under control.
On the fifth day, you may notice that you're overcoming your
jerky movements and can lay the cards down slowly and
steadily. You'll feel that you're gaining more poise and better
control over your will each day. Your will should completely
control your movements, and you'll begin to look on your will
as a great governing power. This exercise is a good one and will
help you accomplish your tasks.
On the sixth day, you'll begin to feel the wonderful possibilities
of your will. You'll feel the strength and power of your will, and
you'll realize that you can control your actions. Whatever task
you're working on, your will should be concentrated on it until
it's finished. The more closely and definitely you determine
what you'll do, the more easily your will carries it out.
Determination imparts compelling force to the will, and the
will and the end act and react on each other.
On your seventh day, try to do everything at a faster pace, but
with a steady demeanor. By practicing slowing down, you have
steadied your nerves, and can now increase your speed. Your
will is under your command, so use it to carry out resolutions
rapidly. This builds up your self-control and self-command,
allowing you to act as the author of your own life.
Writing out your introspections each day can provide great
benefit. Take note of your experiences and describe your
feelings honestly. Avoid allowing your fancies to color your
report. With practice, your reports will become more accurate
and you will learn how to govern your impulses, activities, and
weaknesses.
Customize your exercises to fit your needs, even if it means
practicing them twice or three times a week. Start with small
time increments if necessary, and gradually increase them.
The exercises provided are only examples.
For those who do not have the time for exercises, you can still
93
train your will by willing and realizing. The more you will, the
more your will grows, and builds up power. Make it a rule to
accomplish tasks, big or small, to fortify your will. Focus your
will on the subject to be achieved and form the habit of
getting things done. This gives you confidence and a sense of
power that is unmatched.
The education of the will should not be left to chance. It is
only through self-study and self-discipline that your will can
become energetic, ready, persevering, and consistent. Though
it requires effort, time, and patience, the returns are valuable.
Developing your will gives you self-mastery, personal power,
and energy of character. There are no magical processes to
will development, but the results speak for themselves.
You know that in order to achieve your goals, you must
concentrate. But do you really know how to concentrate?
Learning to focus your thoughts and direct your energy is
critical to success in any area of your life. It's not just about
ability, it's about the will to do it. You have the power within
you to achieve great things, but it takes determination and
effort to unleash that power.
Many successful people didn't find their niche right away. It
took effort, trial and error, and a willingness to adapt to their
environment. It's not just about finding what you're good at,
it's about developing all of your latent powers to their highest
potential. That's where true success lies.
We all have a driving force within us that pushes us to do
better, to be better. It's not just about thought or emotion, it's
a quality of the soul that propels us forward. It's the force
behind the "I will do" of your willpower. The key is to tap into
that force, to become aware of it and use it to your advantage.
Your body is your greatest asset, worth far more than any
material possession. Yet, do you take care of it as well as you
would a car worth thousands of dollars? Taking care of
yourself means getting enough sleep, eating well, and treating
your body with the respect it deserves.
94
Are you open to learning from those who know more than you
do? Do you listen and take their advice to heart? It's important
to be willing to learn and grow, to seek out mentors and role
models who can guide you on your journey.
It's never too late to make a change, to break free from old
habits and ways of thinking. You have the power within you to
succeed, to be counted among the successful. It's up to you to
ignite that spark and unlock your full potential.
Each of us has our own unique challenges to face, but we also
have the ability to solve them. By focusing your thoughts and
directing your energy, you can overcome any obstacle and
achieve your goals. It's up to you to take action and unleash
the power of your concentration and focus.
95
Lesson Twenty - Reviewing the
Power of Concentration
As you near the end of this book, it's important to emphasize
just how valuable concentration can be. Those who lack this
power or fail to develop it often suffer from poverty,
unhappiness, and a lack of success. On the other hand, those
who use and develop this power will make the most of life's
opportunities.
\While reading these lessons is a good start, it won't do much
for you unless you practice the exercises and apply them to
your own life. If you take the time to develop the habit of
concentration, you'll see a significant improvement in your
work and overall happiness.
Remember, the best instruction is only useful if you put it into
practice. Try reading a book through once, then re-reading it
and focusing on the ideas that appeal to you. If they're
applicable to your life, repeat them over and over until they're
ingrained in your mind. This habit of picking out the good
things you read will have a wonderful influence on your
character.
In this closing chapter, it's important to stress the value of
concentrating on your work and avoiding mindless, automatic
routines that lead to bad habits. Many people find the thought
of concentrating difficult, but once they get started, it
becomes much easier. Approach it with a positive mindset and
you'll find that the acquisition of this skill is easy, and its
application is incredibly useful.
Think about the life of any successful person and you'll find
that their ability to concentrate was a major factor in their
success. On the other hand, many failed due to their inability
to concentrate. It's clear that concentration is a vital part of
achieving success.
You may not have the same powers as everyone else, but it's
how you use them that counts. Opportunity knocks at
96
everyone's door, but only the successful hear the knock and
seize the chance. The failures blame luck and circumstances,
rather than themselves, for their lack of success. Remember
that we get what we deserve, nothing more or less. Anything in
the universe is within your grasp, you just need to use your
latent powers and focus on your goals.
Everyone is capable of concentration, but some struggle to
hold a thought in their mind for the required amount of time. It
all comes down to determination. No one's will is stronger
than yours. Whenever you come up against a strong opponent,
remind yourself of this fact.
Never say "I can't concentrate today." You can do it, as soon as
you say "I will." You have the ability to keep your thoughts
from straying, just like you can control your arms. Once you
realize this fact, you can train your will to concentrate on
anything you wish. If your mind wanders, it's your fault for not
utilizing your willpower. Don't blame it on your weak will,
because it's just the same as when you act like it's strong. You
just need to put in the effort.
It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking "I can't," but that kind
of negative self-talk will only lead to failure. Instead, think
positively and say "I can." Remember, it's up to you to decide
whether you'll join the army of "I can't" or "I can.”
The mistake many people make is assuming that "I can't"
means they're unable to concentrate. In reality, it means they
refuse to try. You won't know what you're capable of until you
try. When you feel like giving up and saying "I can't," remind
yourself that you possess all the willpower you need, and you
can use as much of it as you wish. The more you train yourself,
the more you'll be able to use.
Before you go to bed tonight, repeat to yourself, "I choose my
own thoughts, and I will hold onto them as long as I choose. I
will shut out any thoughts that weaken or interfere, or that
make me timid. My will is as strong as anyone else's." Repeat
this again while going to work the next morning. If you keep
this up for a month, you'll start to feel better about yourself.
97
These factors are what make you successful, so hold onto
them always.
Concentration means choosing to do a certain thing and
willing that all other thoughts stay out. You can only realize
your potential if you start directing your mind consciously,
rather than unconsciously. This way, you'll notice mistakes,
overcome bad habits, and improve your conduct.
There have been times when you needed courage and were
surprised by the amount you showed. Once you've done this,
you can have that courage all the time and don't need a
special occasion to reveal it. My goal in strongly impressing
this on your mind is to make you aware that you have the same
courage and determination at your command at all times. Use
it often and well to work towards your highest potential.
You now realize that to make your life worthy, useful, and
happy, you must concentrate. We've given you exercises and
instruction, so now it's up to you to form the highest ideal that
you can at present and live up to it, trying to raise it. Don't
waste your time on foolish reading. Choose something
inspiring, that will allow you to connect with those who think
thoughts that are worthwhile. Their enthusiasm will inspire
and enlighten you. Read slowly and concentrate on what
you're reading. Let your spirit and the author's spirit
commune, and you'll be able to sense what's between the lines
- those great things that words cannot express.

Pay attention to one thing at a time for a given time, and you'll
soon be able to concentrate. Focus ceaselessly on that
98
thought until you reach your goal. When you're working, let
your mind stay on the task at hand. Think before you speak,
and keep your conversation on the topic under discussion.
Talk slowly and steadily, and don't ramble. Be deliberate in all
that you do, and avoid forming the habit of hurrying. Assume a
static attitude without moving any part of your body. Read
books that cover just one continuous subject, and read long
articles while recalling the thread of the argument. Associate
yourself with people who are steady, patient, and tireless in
their thought, action, and work. See how long you can sit still
and think about one subject without interruption.
Focus on your higher self. Time keeps going on and on, and
every day that passes is one less day you have on this planet.
Most of us try to master the external conditions of this world,
thinking that our success and happiness depend on doing so.
While this is important, you must realize that when death
comes, only the inherent and acquired qualities and
conditions within your mentality - your character, conduct,
and soul growth - will go with you. If these are what they
should be, then you needn't worry about being successful and
happy, for with these qualities you can mold external
materials and conditions.
Study yourself carefully to find your strong points and make
them stronger, as well as your weak ones and strengthen
them. If you've studied yourself carefully, you should have a
good idea of who you are and be able to make the necessary
interior adjustments. Always remember that right thinking and
living result in happiness, and it is within your power to obtain
happiness. If you're not happy, you're not claiming your
birthright. Concentration is the secret to accomplishment, or
the art of focusing all your power on one point at a time.
Imagine for a moment that you're at the end of your life,
looking back on everything you've done. What will you take
with you? It's important to think about this question, as it can
help you focus on the bigger picture and tap into your inner
strength. From this moment on, try to act according to the
99
guidance of your higher self. By doing so, you'll tap into
harmonious forces that will help you achieve your goals.
You have unique talents that can benefit both you and those
around you. However, if you don't put in the effort to develop
and use these talents, you'll miss out on opportunities and let
others down.
Instead of dwelling on external factors, focus on becoming in
harmony with your higher self. Keep in mind the mantra: "I will
live for my best. I seek wisdom, self-knowledge, happiness, and
power to help others. I act from my higher self, therefore only
the best can come to me." When you recognize the presence
