Kaslo May Days Champs, again.!
The Kaslo Screeners, formed in 1981, is the longest running
active ball team in Kaslo and boasts the oldest average aged
team as well. They have been participating in the Annual May
Days for 42 years, with teams from around the West Kootenay.
In the last 10 or so years, Kaslo has fielded most of the
teams itself – 6 of 8 recently. Over time, just about every team
has earned the bragging rights and Champ title, at least once,
none more then the Kaslo Screeners have.

Well deserved recognition goes to Erin McRae and Shad
Wilson for running another successful May Days Tournament...
they do an excellent job, every year. And hats off to
the Kaslo Slo-pitch Association for all the work creating our
magnificent field. Slo-pitch is alive and well in Kaslo.
Kaslo Student Graduates RMC
Lt. Helen Hawes has successfully graduated from the Royal
Military College of Canada (RMC), with a bachelor’s degree
in English, Culture, and Communications, and received a
Commission Script in the name of His Majesty to pursue
a career as a Public Affairs Officer in the Canadian Armed
Forces (CAF).
Hawes, amongst nearly 250 fellow students, has completed
a challenging academic program while meeting the highest
military standards, and is now well equipped to lead and
excel in the profession of arms in the service of Canada.

both culturally and
academically to a military
ethos, and have the skill sets
essential for success as leaders
representing Canada
internationally.
