About Barber Osgerby<br />
Barber Osgerby is a London-based industrial design studio founded in<br />
1996 by British designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby and is now<br />
one of the most renowned contemporary design studios in the<br />
world. The design studio's approach is experimental, exploring other<br />
materialities and colours. This results in solutions that are closely<br />
related to industrial processes and new technologies. Works by<br />
Barber Osgerby can be found in the collections of the Metropolitan<br />
Museum of Art in New York and the Art Institute in Chicago, among<br />
others. The studio's works have been awarded numerous<br />

How did this new collaboration between AXOR, Bette and<br />
Barber & Osgerby come about?<br />
–The design studio found working with both brands interesting. It’s Barber & Osgerby’s design philosophy to<br />
approach brands that they want to design for. Brands that caught their attention because of extraordinary<br />
craftsmanship and design. First, the idea for a collaboration started at the European trade fair ISH, in 2019.<br />
Following the event, Edward Barber, Jay Osgerby, AXOR and Bette had several meetings to see how the designs of<br />
the designer duo could fit into a shared vision of luxurious bathrooms.<br />

What is the extent of the collaboration between AXOR and<br />
Bette?<br />
–The collaboration reflects Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby’s personal idea of luxury, redefining familiar<br />
archetypes in minimalist, elemental shapes. It centres around creating products that have the same design<br />
language and so work beautifully together. This includes new <strong>BetteSuno</strong> basins and baths, working harmoniously<br />
with AXOR One showers, taps, accessories and drains in its new, Matt White finish.<br />
–There will be occasions when the products will be displayed together, such as in Hansgrohe’s Water Studio in<br />
London and at exhibitions and events. There will also be some collaboration in photography, with occasions when<br />
both brands’ products will feature together.<br />
–In terms of purchasing the products, nothing will change for customers in that AXOR products will be sold by<br />
AXOR and Bette products will be sold by Bette, as well as both brands being stocked by their retail partners.<br />

Have the AXOR and Bette products been specifically designed<br />
to be used together?<br />
–Barber and Osgerby created the AXOR and Bette products with the same design language, so they work<br />
extremely well together. They can, of course, also be combined with other products.<br />

Is this a one-off project or part of a longer collaboration<br />
between AXOR and Bette?<br />
–This is currently a one-off project, but AXOR and Bette are good cooperation partners, so there could be other<br />
