Dear Friends &
Intercoiffure Members
What a magical festival of friendship! Saint-Tropez has lived up to its
reputation as a place for the beautiful and rich and provided a wonderful
backdrop for a great Intercoiffure weekend - at least, that was the feedback
from the 500 people who attended our spectacular summer event.
A prestigious awards ceremony, an exclusive beach party and a magical “Soirée Blanche” enchanted
us all on the famous Côte d'Azur. The visit to the final resting place of our legendary World President
Alexandre de Paris was a particularly poignant and beautiful moment. And as for a few organisational
mishaps, they will spur us on to make improvements for the next annual event, which will take place
in Barcelona in 2024.
Due to the Olympics, Paris is so expensive for many months that we can't afford the prices for
our members given our budget. We are looking to the near future and have a lot of plans: the
new “Entrecoiffeurship” business seminar will start in September; we will finalize plans for the
MasterBarber programme, to include its conference in New York, as well as the Oceania region
conference in Cape Town, and shoot the new 2024 collection for men and women.
Preparations are under way for the 23 rd World Congress in Hamburg in 2025. We never run out of
energy. Thank you very much for your support - because together we can do great things and further
expand our brand: “the world’s leading hairdressers”. As a seal of quality for our customers, the
Intercoiffure star is in the ascendent! And I am delighted to be working on it.
Was für ein magisches Fest der Freundschaft. Saint-Tropez ist seinem Ruf gerecht geworden und
präsentierte sich auch uns als wunderbare Kulisse für ein tolles ICD-Wochenende – so jedenfalls
lautet das Feedback der fast 500 Teilnehmer unseres spektakulären Sommer-Events.
Eine ehrwürdige Award Zeremonie, eine exklusive Strandparty und eine magische „Soirée Blanche“
haben uns alle verzaubert an der berühmten Cote d’Azur. Auch der Besuch der letzten Ruhestätte
unseres legendären Weltpräsidenten Alexandre de Paris war ein besonders emotionaler, schöner
Moment. Und was ein paar organisatorische Schwächen betrifft, werden sie uns Ansporn sein für
das nächste Jahresevent, das 2024 in Barcelona stattfinden wird.
Aufgrund der Olympischen ist Paris über viele Monate so teuer, dass wir die Preise unseren
Mitgliedern und unserem Budget nicht zumuten wollen. Wir blicken mit Elan in die nahe Zukunft
und haben viel vor: das neue „Entrecoiffeurship“ Businessseminar startet im
September, die Konferenz der Region Ozeanien in Kapstadt im Oktober; wir werden
das MasterBarber Programm inklusive einer Konferenz in New York fertigstellen,
sowie die neue Kollektion 2024 für Frauen und Männer shooten.
Parallel laufen auch schon die Vorbereitungen zum 100 Jahre Weltkongress 2025
in Hamburg. Herzlichen Dank für Eure Unterstützung – denn gemeinsam können
wir Großes vorantreiben und unsere Marke „the world's leading hairdressers“ noch
weiter ausbauen. Der Intercoiffure-Stern als Qualitätssiegel aus Sicht unserer
Kund:innen wird mehr und mehr Realität! Und daran arbeite ich gerne!"

summer event in Saint-Tropez with a varied
programme of get-together over two days: the
festive Chevalerie Award Ceremony, a private party
on Moorea Beach, an exclusive «Soirée Blanche»
at the Domaine Bertaud Belieu vineyard with three
international hair fashion shows and many sneak
previews of future projects. A great Côte d’Azur
Celebration with over 400 Intercoiffure members
and beauty experts from 17 countries.

Glamour, international hair fashion shows and a
fantastic «Soirée Blanche» on the southern French
coast. Here, the blue shines more intensely and
magically than anywhere else: in Saint-Tropez,
on the Côte d’Azur, the blue of the sky dazzles
like the blue of the sea. Today, Saint-Tropez is
the epitome of luxury, extravagance and glamour
with a special twist. Over 300 international and
around 160 French friends met over two days
for the summer summit of the hair fashion elite:
Intercoiffure in Saint-Tropez.

It was an afternoon full of emotion
and joy for all the award winners,
who are wholeheartedly committed to
Intercoiffure Mondial.
Chancellor June Wilde from Australia
presented the prestigious medals together
with her Chevalerie Council. The highest
honour, the Grand Cross, went to ICD
Mondial Treasurer Martin Peterer from
Switzerland and to co-founder and longtime
President of ICD Spain, Luis Romero.
Sheila Wilson, President of ICD America/
Canada, accepted the award for «Section
of the Year».
A special goosebump moment was the
presentation of the Award of Honour to
Otto Sommer, who was linked via video
from Zurich to the Salle Jean Despas in
Saint-Tropez.

und Freude für all die Preisträger, die
sich mit vollem Herzen für Intercoiffure
Mondial engagieren.
Section of the Year Award to ICD America-Canada
Chancellor June Wilde aus Australien überreichte
gemeinsam mit ihren Chevalerie-Kollegen die
prestigeträchtigen Orden. Die höchste Ehrung, das
Grand Cross, ging an ICD Mondial-Schatzmeister
Martin Peterer aus der Schweiz und den Mitbegründer
und langjährigen Präsidenten ICD Spaniens Luis
Romero. Sheila Wilson, Präsidentin von ICD America/
Canada, nahm den Preis für die „Sektion des Jahres“
entgegen.
Ein besonderer Gänsehaut-Moment war die Verleihung
des Ehrenpreises an Otto Sommer, der per Video
aus Zürich in den Salle Jean Despas in Saint-Tropez
zugeschaltet war.

It's party time at the Moorea Beach Club
ICD Brazil and ICD Chile
Hot Cote d'Azur welcomed our worldwide
members at the Salle Jean Despas. Right
in the center of this city that still carries
a special meaning because "one of our
legendary presidents, the world-renowned star
hairdresser Alexandre de Paris, is buried here.
We remember him and honour his work." says
Peter F. Pfister.
Moderator, Christian Rupprecht-Essig, opened
the event accompanied by ICD Global President.
"We stand for 'The world's leading hairdressers'
with our craftsmanship - and that means our
expertise as women's AND men's hairdressers,"
says Peter. "What makes us unique is the
international exchange among friends and the
mutual support in business. We love people,
we pamper them and we beautify them in
our salons. This respectful approach is also
reflected in our organisation. We are all united
by the language of hair - regardless of political
situations”.
After the awards ceremony, the Intercoiffure
community met on the legendary beach of
Pampelonne at the Beach Club Moorea for an
exclusive beach party: feet in the sand, delicious
cocktails, tasty finger food, cool beats - plus the
sound of the waves and a warm summer breeze.
The full moon shone on the sea and provided the
perfect spotlight for an unforgettable evening.

Die sonnige Côte d'Azur hieß unsere Mitglieder
aus der ganzen Welt im Salle Jean Despas
willkommen. Mitten im Zentrum von Saint-
Tropez, dieser Stadt, die immer noch eine
besondere Bedeutung hat, denn „einer
unserer legendären Präsidenten, der weltweit
renommierte Starfriseur Alexandre de Paris
liegt hier begraben. Wir gedenken an ihn und
halten sein Werk in Ehren.“ sagt Peter F. Pfister.
In Begleitung des Intercoiffure Mondial
Präsidenten eröffnete Moderator Christian
Rupprecht-Essig die Veranstaltung.
„Wir stehen mit unserer Handwerkskunst für
,The world’s leading hairdressers‘ – und damit
ist unsere Expertise als Frauen- UND Männer-
Friseure gemeint“, so Pfister. „Intercoiffure
hat knapp 2000 Mitglieder weltweit und wir
wachsen stetig. Denn was uns einzigartig
macht, ist der internationale Austausch unter
Freunden und die gegenseitige Unterstützung
im Business. Wir lieben Menschen, wir
verwöhnen sie und wir verschönern sie in
unseren Salons. Dieser respektvolle Umgang
spiegelt sich auch in unserer Organisation
wider. Uns alle vereint die Sprache der Haare –
unabhängig von politischen Situationen.“
Nach der Preisverleihung traf sich die ICD
Community am legendären Strand von
Pampelonne im Beach Club Moorea zu einer
exklusiven Strand-Party: Füße im Sand,
köstliche Cocktails, leckeres Fingerfood, coole
Beats – dazu noch das Rauschen der Wellen
und eine warme Sommerbrise. Der Vollmond
strahlte auf das Meer und gab das perfekte
Spotlight für einen unvergesslichen Abend.

The grand finale of the Intercoiffure
Mondial summer event was the «Soirée
Blanche» at the beautiful Domaine Bertaud
Belieu winery, hosted by Intercoiffure France.
The atmosphere was magical and full of
positive energy - Intercoiffure professionals
from all over the world exchanged ideas,
celebrated, glowed in the evening sun and
made the evening very special with their
enthusiasm.
The open-air stage provided the backdrop for
three great shows - presented by the junior
hairdressers of the Fondation Guillaume, the
fashion team of ICD Japan and Christophe
Nicolas Biot for ICD France.

Das große Finale des Sommer-Events
von Intercoiffure Mondial war die
„Soiree Blanche“ auf dem wunderschönen
Weingut Domaine Bertaud Belieu, zu dem
Intercoiffure Frankreich als Gastgeber
eingeladen hatte.
Die Atmosphäre war magisch und voll positiver
Energie – Intercoiffeure aus aller Welt tauschten
sich aus, feierten, strahlten in der Abendsonne
und machten durch ihre Begeisterung den
Abend zu etwas ganz Besonderem.

The 17 juniors from the Fondation Guillaume
presented «White Nights» - a cool show with
sculptural up-dos, artfully woven braids, lots of
texture, dramatic XL Mohawk styling and big hair
towers with butterfly accessories. A nod to big hair
draping from the sixties and Brigitte Bardot appeal.
The Saint-Tropez style of Generation Z was artfully
disordered with a playful sense of fashion.

Die 17 Junioren der Fondation Guillaume
präsentierten „White Nights” – eine coole Show mit
skulpturalen Up-Do’s, kunstvoll eingeflochtenen
Braids, viel Struktur, dramatischen XL-
Irokesen-Stylings und großen Haartürmen mit
Schmetterlings-Accessoires. Eine Anlehnung an Big
Hair-Drapierungen aus den Sechzigern und dem
Brigitte Bardot-Appeal. Der Saint-Tropez-Style der
Generation Z zeigte sich kunstvoll ungeordnet mit
spielerischem Fashion-Feeling.

INTERCOIFFURE JAPAN SHOW
The hair artists Hiroyuki Obayashi, Koji Furukubo,
Hiroki Matsuki and Shogo Ideguchi showcased
their artistic cutting and styling techniques: flashy
fashion-pop hair designs in pink, blue and yellow
straight out of a manga story; silver-blonde graphic
cuts with black fringes and extra-long locks as well
as gorgeous hair sculptures. Fascinating hairstyles
with subtle finesse and beautiful dresses.

An explosive mix of rock’n’roll attitude and
glamorous elegance was brought to the
stage by artist Christophe-Nicolas Biot for
Intercoiffure France.
«Et bam» is an expressive, dynamic production.
Biot, one of France’s most renowned hair
artists, interpreted great music stars. His
show is a tribute to iconic personalities. The
hairstyles ranged from voluminous looks to
sleek, elegant styles. The result is hair art -
creative art made of hair.
Eine explosive Mischung aus Rock'n'Roll-
Attitüde und glamouröser Eleganz brachte
der Artist Christophe Nicolas Biot für ICD
Frankreich auf die Bühne. „Et bam" ist eine
expressive, dynamische Inszenierung. Biot,
einer der renommiertesten Haarkünstler
Frankreichs, interpretierte große Music-
Stars. Seine Show ist eine Hommage an
ikonische Persönlichkeiten. Die Haarstyles
reichten von voluminösen Looks bis hin zu
glatten, eleganten Styles. Es entsteht Hairart
– kreative Kunst aus Haaren.

«We want to give men’s hairdressers a new
level of quality and professionalism and will
establish ourselves as a quality alternative
to cheap men’s salons.» says Peter F.
Pfister. The MasterBarber team of Frank
Gambuzza, Sebastian Pfister and Holger
Maas will share their professional knowledge
through seminars to be held at the House of
Nations in Paris. In addition, MasterBarbers
will travel to all countries to promote the
programme and invite new Intercoiffure
hairdressers to become part of this project.
An «Intercoiffure MasterBarber Conference» is
planned in New York in March 2024.

His goal: «I want to grow with all our members to give
back education to our network and strengthen it.»
Intercoiffure educators provide training in techniques
related to cutting, colouring, texture, styling, fashion,
business in relevant courses such as MasterBarber,
FashionStar, ColourStar, StylingStar, MovementStar,
as well as the EntreCoiffeurShip business seminar.
The content is taught live or with the learning app
“GETHAIR”.

WORLD CONGRESS
Intercoiffure Mondial will celebrate its 100th
birthday in Hamburg in two years’ time. With
this event, Intercoiffure will return to its origins.
«Intercoiffure was founded on 14 April 1925 in
the Guild of Craftsmen of the Hanseatic City of
Hamburg,» explains Markus Herrmann, Vice-
President of Intercoiffure Mondial and President
of Intercoiffure Germany. «We will do everything
we can to make it an unforgettable experience - a
world congress that creatively combines fashion
and hair art, tradition and modernity. We want to
surprise our international Intercoiffure friends.
Put the date of 31 May to 3 June 2025 in your
diaries now.»
The programme includes a visit to the city’s new
landmark, the impressive Elbphilharmonie. The
Welcome Evening will take place in the historic
Fish Auction Hall, the Gala and international
shows will be held in the modern Congress
Center.
