“<strong>ARTIFACT</strong> è un’indagine sulla lavorazione<br />
delle materie utilizzate in architettura.<br />
Il recupero dell’estetica di pietre e marmi<br />
utilizzati in passato dai grandi architetti<br />
italiani - Carlo Scarpa, Giò Ponti, Piero<br />
Portaluppi, Angelo Mangiarotti - ci affascina.<br />
Ma vogliamo andare oltre e definire una superficie<br />
contemporanea che porta in sé tracce e<br />
memoria di materie naturali e che comprenda elementi<br />
di superfici conosciute: un’operazione di<br />
sintesi e contaminazione. Non una replica ma una<br />
sintesi, e quindi un prodotto di invenzione.<br />
Ci siamo concessi di sperimentarne le possibilità<br />
attraverso un’indagine libera sul colore<br />
e sulle texture spingendo la ricerca oltre ai<br />
limiti propri della natura per coniugarla e collocarla<br />
nel contemporaneo.”<br />

Paola Ascari e Alberto Zattin, partner nella vita<br />
e nella professione, dopo aver sperimentato in ambiti<br />
differenti il tema della progettazione e della<br />
creatività fondano nel 2003 LO STUDIO design.<br />
Sviluppano progetti in diversi ambiti integrando<br />
direzione artistica e creativa, grafica, architettura,<br />
progettazione d’interni, styling<br />
e design di prodotto interpretando il progetto<br />
in senso umanistico, come azione coordinata<br />
di persone e discipline, nella convinzione che<br />
la creatività sia un atto plurale e condiviso.<br />
LO STUDIO design è un luogo aperto a eventi culturali<br />
e collaborazioni con artisti e professionisti<br />
attivi in ogni campo.<br />

“<strong>ARTIFACT</strong> is an investigation into the processing<br />
of materials used in architecture.<br />
The revival of the aesthetics of stones and marbles<br />
previously employed by renowned Italian architects<br />
- Carlo Scarpa, Giò Ponti, Piero Portaluppi,<br />
Angelo Mangiarotti - captivates us.<br />
However, we wanted to go beyond and define a contemporary<br />
surface that carries traces and memories<br />
of natural materials, while also incorporating<br />
elements of familiar textures: a process<br />
of synthesis and fusion. Not a mere replica, but<br />
a synthesis, and thus a product of invention.<br />
We allowed ourselves to experiment with its possibilities<br />
through unrestrained exploration of<br />
colors and textures, pushing our research beyond<br />
the inherent limits of nature to place it within<br />
the contemporary context.”<br />

world of creative and design, Paola Ascari<br />
and Alberto Zattin, partners in life<br />
and in work, decided to pursue their own<br />
creative vision and founded LO STUDIO.<br />
They develop projects in different fields by<br />
integrating art and creative direction, graphic<br />
design, architecture, interior design, styling<br />
and product design by interpreting the project<br />
in a humanistic sense, as a coordinated action<br />
of people and disciplines, in the belief that<br />
