BATEMAN’S REIMAGINED
A new installation by book
artist Su Blackwell reimagines
the creative process which led
Rudyard Kipling to conjure up
his much-loved classic, The Jungle
Book. ‘Bateman’s Reimagined’
is created from copies of the
story’s handwritten manuscript.
Kipling’s words loop and curl
across hundreds of pages, nestling
a model of the house at Bateman’s,
once the home of the writer.

is a wonderful not-for-profit
organisation started by a group
of friends over 30 years ago to
raise money for local mental
health charities in Kent. Its
annual art sale is now one of
Kent’s premier exhibitions and to
date it has raised over £330,000
for the mental health charities it
supports. As a voluntary group,
100% of proceeds go directly
to KPG’s chosen charities.
