NOTES FROM NETJETS
“
Phil
support one of the fastestgrowing
teams in motorsport
with flight services that will
allow them to maximise their
time competing globally
heading into the World
Endurance Championship and
beyond,” says Myra Perez,
executive director sales and
service for NetJets Europe.
The FIA World Endurance Championship is the pinnacle
of endurance racing – the pinnacle of my discipline in
racing – and it really is a global spectacle
Hanson, United Autosports driver
The WEC is a perfect
opportunity to offer
NetJets’ support to
the United Autosports
ambitions. It is a series of
seven races ranging from
the 1,000 Miles of Sebring,
Florida, to the eight hours
of Bahrain in November
(via the world-renowned 24
hours of Le Mans, as well as
Portimão in Portugal, Spa in
Belgium, Monza in Italy and
Fuji in Japan). It is a test of
the stamina of drivers and
endurance and technical
abilities of the car on a global
stage. It is the ultimate
challenge for the United
Autosports team and one
they are doing well to live up
to at the moment.
As Phil Hanson, a fullseason
driver in the #22
United Autosports LMP2
car says: “The FIA World
Endurance Championship is
the pinnacle of endurance
racing – the pinnacle of my
discipline in racing – and it
really is a global spectacle.
You visit countless circuits
across three continents –
next year, four continents –
travelling to some incredible
places, including Japan –
where we’ve just come back
from with a podium result.
I flew into Tokyo, which is
one of my favourite cities.
Quite often, I don’t get the
chance to explore the culture
and cities themselves, I’m
much more familiar with
the airports and hotels by
the tracks! But when we’re
flying further afield, I try to
make a trip of it. Next year
the championship will go
to Brazil for the first time.
It’s great to be part of a
championship that puts on
a show in all regions of the
world.” unitedautosports.com
