Letter from CEO & Board ChairThis year marks 10 years since the Norwalk community cametogether and made a commitment to working collaboratively toimprove outcomes for our children and youth. We agreed to followthe principles of collective impact and became an emerging networkmember of StriveTogether. Many of us remember being part of thedesign institute and the early days of working in this new model.The work has not always been easy, but as a community we shouldbe incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together andour continued dedication to changing systems.This time last year we released our strategic plan, co-developed byour partnership, which laid out our collective vision to ensure thatall children and youth in Norwalk are thriving from cradle to career.We are pleased to now present the 2022-23 impact report whichserves as an overview of the achievements and advancements wehave made together to meet our ambitious goals. This report servesas a baseline for transparent annual reporting on the status andoutcomes of our collective work. We have always been groundedin data and will continue to use it to shine a light both on areaswhere we have experienced success, as well as areas where wecontinue to face challenges in advancing equitable outcomes.It is clear from the data in this report that our children suffered duringthe pandemic. The good news is that as a community, we have shownincredible resilience and are rebounding. It is through our continueduse of data analysis, partnership, and alignment across sectors that wewill make progress in ensuring that every child is developmentally ontrack throughout early childhood, has strong connections to meaningfulout-of-school activities, is engaged in supportive relationships, has thesocial-emotional skills needed to thrive and succeed, and is preparedfor post-secondary education and/or livable wage employment.Our progress relies on continued dismantling of the deep-rootedissues that perpetuate inequities, working through obstacles thatimpede our progress, and re-commitment to building trust with oneanother and aligning our collective work.
