Exclusive Interview with
Ezinne Kufre Ekanem
May We Meet You?
Hello, I am Ezinne Kufre
Ekanem, affectionately known
as the ‘UPYOU’ woman. My
profound passion for the 21stcentury
woman has driven me
to invest my time and resources
in creating a transformative
platform called the ‘UPYOU’
woman. At its core, ‘UPYOU’
is dedicated to YOU — the
essence of finding yourself,
discovering your purpose, and
elevating yourself into the best
version imaginable. This is the
essence of what we do: guiding
you on your journey onwards,
upwards, and forwards.
Our mission revolves around
helping you not only discover/
rediscover yourself but
also uncover your purpose,
facilitating your evolution into
the best possible version of
YOU. The ‘UPYOU’ experience
involves engaging with women
like you, delving into your gifts,
experiences, and values. We
then curate and showcase these
elements to the world, aligning
them with best practices. This
process serves as a continuous
cycle of learning, unlearning,
and relearning as we navigate
the journey together. It’s a
commitment to your growth
and development, always with a
focus on YOU.
‘UPYOU’ is more than a
structure; it’s a dynamic
space where we connect,
share, and uplift each other.
By understanding your
uniqueness, we collectively
strive towards aligning with
what resonates best with us. It’s
a collaborative effort that spans
beyond individual growth,
embracing the power of shared
experiences and wisdom. In
this endeavor, my commitment
is unwaveringly centered on
YOU. As I guide and teach, I am
simultaneously learning and
growing.
The synergy of this mutual
evolution fuels the heart of
‘UPYOU.’ This journey is not just
about discovering yourself; it’s
about embracing the passion
and enthusiasm that propels
you towards continuous
improvement.
In essence, ‘UPYOU’ is a holistic
approach to personal and
collective empowerment,
rooted in the belief that every
woman has the potential to
be the best version of herself.
It’s a journey of self-discovery,
purpose, and growth, and I am
honored to be part of it — to be
all about YOU.

‘UP YOU’ Women Summit
Ended Just Few Months Ago.
What Inspired You Into Hosting
The Event? Are You Satisfied
With The Outcome Of The
Event?
Covening and hosting the
‘UPYOU’ Women Conference
was deeply personal and
profoundly inspired. My
passion for empowering the
21st-century woman fueled the
creation of this transformative
event. It aimed to unravel the
layers of the modern woman
beyond the confines of work
and play, emphasizing the ‘YOU’
– the core essence that often
goes unnoticed.
Years of engaging in heartfelt
conversations with women
revealed a poignant truth –
many of us carry unresolved
traumas, and there’s often a
disconcerting gap between
our inner selves and the
personas we project externally.
Recognizing the metaphorical
masks we wear daily, masks
that have become so familiar
they shroud our authentic
selves, prompted the profound
insights that underpin the
‘UPYOU’ Women Conference.
This initiative was born
from a heartfelt response
to these revelations. The
central purpose is to guide
women on a journey of selfreconnection,
reminiscent
of the pure self-awareness
experienced in childhood. The
goal is not just self-discovery
but also initiating a process of
healing from within. It’s about
constructing bridges internally
to authentically address the
visible gaps in our external lives.
Like I always say, journey first
within then without.
The ‘UPYOU’ Women
Conference was a stellar
and magnificent event and
this is more than a mere
acknowledgment; it’s a
testament to the passion that
permeated every aspect. The
satisfaction goes beyond
the role of a convener – it’s
a sentiment I’d carry proudly
even if my involvement were
indirect. Being part of such a
transformative conference is a
source of immense pride and
underscores the belief in the
significance of this initiative.
In essence, the ‘UPYOU’ Women
Conference transcends being
an event; it’s a personal journey
of self-discovery, healing, and
empowerment. My personal
commitment is fueled not only
by the desire to bring women
up to date with themselves
but also by the creation of an
environment where authentic
connections, conversations and
transformations can unfold. The
energy, enthusiasm, and pride
in its outcome affirm the impact
and the ongoing commitment
to empowering women on
their unique journeys of selfrealization
and actualization.
Is ‘UP YOU’Conference Going
To Be An annual Event, Or A
One-Off Event?
Absolutely, the ‘UPYOU’
Women Conference isn’t just
a singular event; it’s a rhythmic
celebration of empowerment
that unfolds annually. This
decision is rooted in a deep
commitment to consistently
provide a transformative
space for women. It’s more
than an occasion; it’s a yearly
rendezvous, akin to the
cherished tradition of an August
women meeting in Africa.
The decision to make ‘UPYOU’
an annual event is a testament
to the passionate commitment
to the continuous growth and
empowerment of women.
It’s not just about hosting a
conference; it’s about creating
an enduring tradition that
women can look forward
to each August, a month
resonating with the spirit of
connection, learning, and
personal evolution.
How Would You Rate The
Event On A Scale Of 1-10?
Rating the ‘UPYOU’ Women
Conference on a scale of
1-10 is more than assigning
a numerical value; it’s an
opportunity to express the
profound impact and personal
resonance of this empowering
event.
Without hesitation, I would
wholeheartedly assign a
perfect 10/10 to the ‘UPYOU’
Women Conference. This rating
encapsulates the extraordinary
beauty and transformative
nature of the event. It’s not
just a numerical score; it’s a
passionate acknowledgment
of the depth of impact and
fulfillment experienced.

Many Feel That Moral
Decadence Is On The Increase
In Our Society, Because Parents
Of These Days, Especially,
Our Mothers, Are More Into
Money Than Raising Up godly
Children. What’s Your Take On
This?
My perspective is rooted in
the belief that prioritizing our
primary roles is fundamental,
and this philosophy guides my
approach to life. Specifically, for
women, this means recognizing
that the home holds a
paramount place—our primary
role. From this foundation, we
can then navigate our careers
and other pursuits with a sense
of alignment and purpose.
I am deeply passionate about
reshaping the prevailing
ideology that has, at times, led
to a misalignment of priorities,
especially concerning the role
of mothers in our society. This
passion drives our long-term
vision to instill a renewed
understanding through
continuous efforts, primarily
manifested in our summits.
To alter this mindset, we believe
in consistently providing
women with the knowledge
they need to navigate the
multifaceted roles they play.
By offering insights into the
various aspects of being a girl,
sister, mother, wife, and career
professional, we empower
women to make informed
decisions throughout their
lifespans.
Acknowledging the complexity
of a woman’s roles, we
understand that within broader
9
categories, there exist subtle
yet significant responsibilities.
A woman may be a wife and
a caretaker, a wife and a
teacher, embodying multiple
facets simultaneously. This
nuanced understanding forms
the basis for our informationsharing
approach during our
conferences.
Long-Term Commitment to
Empowerment:
Our commitment to reshaping
societal perspectives is not a
fleeting endeavor; it’s a longterm
mission. Through each
summit, we aim to reinforce
the importance of aligning with
one’s primary roles, ensuring
that every woman finds the
path that resonates best with
her, allowing her to excel in
fulfilling her purpose.
In conclusion, my take on the
societal concern regarding
moral decadence is rooted
in a commitment to realign
priorities, particularly for
mothers. By providing
continuous education and
sharing experiences, we aim to
empower women to navigate
their roles effectively, fostering
a society where individuals are
better equipped to fulfill their
various responsibilities with
purpose and integrity.
How Do You Rate The
Participation Of Women In
Politics? Do You Think The
Government Is Doing Enough
For The African Woman?
Reflecting on the participation
of women in politics, there
is an evident trajectory of
progress, a positive evolution
that unfolds with each election
cycle. In Nigeria, the landscape
is gradually shifting as more
women step forward for
elective positions, marking
a promising trend that, if
sustained, will undoubtedly lead
to significant milestones.
Personally, I am an optimist
eagerly anticipating the
historic moment when Nigeria
will witness its first female
president. This optimism
stems from observing similar
breakthroughs in other parts of
the world. I firmly believe that
with perseverance and a steady
commitment to progress,
Nigeria is poised for such a
transformative milestone in the
near future.
The question of whether the
government is doing enough
for the African woman,
especially in politics, often
draws a complex response.
While acknowledging the
strides made, there’s an innate
desire for more. It’s intrinsic for
us to aspire to higher standards.
However, the realization that
we, as individuals, are integral
components of the broader
10
government structure prompts
a call to action. Recognizing
our shared responsibility, both
as citizens and as part of the
government, underscores
the need for collective action.
Advocating for increased
female representation in
elective and appointive offices
becomes not just a suggestion
but a crucial imperative. By
encouraging more women to
step into these roles, we can
contribute to a collective effort
in reshaping the trajectory of
our societies.
In conclusion, the evolving
landscape of women’s
participation in politics is
promising, and my optimism for
a female president in Nigeria
remains unwavering. While
acknowledging the progress,
the call for more involvement
persists. The government’s
efforts, though commendable,
are viewed with the lens of
continuous improvement, and
it is our shared responsibility
to actively contribute to
the transformative changes
we aspire to see. Through
collective empowerment,
we can propel our societies
towards greater inclusivity and
progress.
your fellow women because
together, we can break barriers.
Remember, your journey is
unique, and every step, whether
small or big, contributes to your
story of resilience and strength.
Keep moving forward with
confidence and authenticity.

found nowhere else on Earth.
Iconic African animals such as
lions, elephants, and giraffes, as
well as lesser-known but equally
important species, contribute
to the continent’s exceptional
biodiversity.
2. Conservation Through
Protected Areas:
African national parks serve as
essential tools for biodiversity
conservation. These protected
areas are established to
safeguard ecosystems,

The Secrets to Longevity in
Africa: Environmental Factors
and Dietary Choices
Africa is a continent renowned for its rich cultural diversity, stunning landscapes, and a remarkable
phenomenon that often goes unnoticed - the impressive lifespan of many of its inhabitants. In
various regions of Africa, people tend to live longer, healthier lives compared to global averages.
This longevity is attributed to a combination of environmental factors and dietary choices that have
been honed over generations. In this article, we will explore the reasons behind the remarkable
life expectancy in Africa and delve into the environmental and dietary factors contributing to this
phenomenon.
16
ENVIRONMENTAL
FACTORS:
Climate and Weather:
Africa’s diverse climate and
weather conditions play a vital
role in promoting longevity.
Regions with mild, temperate
climates tend to be less taxing
on the human body, reducing
the risks associated with
extreme heat or cold. This is
particularly evident in countries
with Mediterranean climates,
such as Morocco and Tunisia.
Outdoor Lifestyle:
Many African communities have
maintained a strong outdoor
lifestyle. Engaging in physical
activities like farming, herding,
and hunting has both physical
and mental health benefits.
Regular exposure to sunlight
also ensures adequate vitamin
D levels.
Low Stress Levels:
In some regions, the pace of life
is less hectic than in urbanized
Western societies. Lower stress
levels have a significant impact
on longevity, as chronic stress is
linked to various health issues,
including heart disease and
mental health disorders.
Tight-Knit Communities:
The close-knit nature of African
communities fosters strong
social connections and support
systems. Social isolation can be
a major contributor to health
problems, and the presence of
robust community bonds helps
combat this issue.
DIETARY CHOICES:
Plant-Centered Diets:
Many traditional African
diets are plant-based, rich in
fruits, vegetables, and grains.
These diets are packed with
essential nutrients, fiber,
and antioxidants, which are
associated with lower rates of
chronic diseases.
Lean Protein Sources:
African diets often include
lean protein sources, such as
fish, poultry, and legumes.
These proteins are less likely
to contribute to heart disease
and obesity compared to fatty
meats.
Limited Processed Foods:
Processed foods, which
are high in sugar, salt, and
unhealthy fats, are less common
in traditional African diets. This
minimizes the risk of dietrelated
diseases, like diabetes
and hypertension.
Spices and Herbs:
The use of a variety of spices
and herbs not only enhances
the flavor of African dishes
but also offers potential health
benefits. Some spices, like
turmeric and ginger, have antiinflammatory
properties.
Water Intake:
Staying well-hydrated is
essential for good health. In
many parts of Africa, clean
water sources and the habit of
drinking water throughout the
day are integral to daily life.
Fermented Foods:
Fermented foods, such as
yogurt and sourdough bread,
are common in African diets.
These foods promote gut
health and provide probiotics
that aid digestion and
strengthen the immune system.
The longevity observed in
various African communities
is a testament to the profound
impact of both environmental
factors and dietary choices on
human health. Africa’s diverse
climate, outdoor lifestyles,
strong communities, and
balanced diets all contribute
to a longer, healthier life. While
modernization and urbanization
may introduce new challenges,
there is much to be learned
from the sustainable practices
and traditions that have
fostered longevity on the
African continent. Embracing
these principles can inspire
individuals and societies
worldwide to lead healthier,
longer lives.

The Impact of Globalization on
African Women’s Traditional
Roles and Values
The forces of globalization, including advancements in technology, communication, and
transportation, have significantly influenced societies worldwide, bringing about both opportunities
and challenges. In particular, African women’s traditional roles and values have undergone
considerable transformation as continent-wide integration with the global economy has progressed.
This article aims to explore the impact of globalization on African women’s traditional roles,
responsibilities, and values, shedding light on both positive and negative aspects.
1. Economic Empowerment and Education:
2. Breaking Gender Stereotypes:
Globalization has provided African women with
increased access to education, job opportunities,
and economic empowerment. Women’s
participation in the formal workforce has soared,
leading to improved financial independence
and a shift in traditional gender roles. As more
women enter the workforce, their perception as
homemakers and caregivers has undergone a
significant transformation.
Globalization has played a crucial role in
dismantling patriarchal norms and challenging
traditional gender roles. With the exposure
to global ideas and values, African women
have increasingly sought inclusion in decisionmaking
processes, both within their families
and communities. This shift has encouraged
society to further recognize and appreciate the
contributions of women beyond their traditional
roles.
18
3. Technological Advancements and
Communication:
Rapid advancements in technology and
communication have created opportunities for
African women to connect globally, allowing
them to voice their concerns, advocate for their
rights, and access information. Social media
platforms have empowered African women
by amplifying their voices, promoting gender
equality, and raising awareness about pressing
issues, such as domestic violence, female genital
mutilation, and child marriage.
4. Erosion of Cultural Values:
While globalization has undoubtedly brought
about positive change, it has also resulted in
the erosion of some traditional African values.
The appeal of Western ideals, consumerism,
and individualism has led to a decline in the
importance placed on communal values,
ultimately impacting the sense of community and
cohesion within African societies. This erosion
can be observed in changing marital dynamics,
inter-generational conflicts, and increased
materialism.
5. Challenges and Inequalities:
While globalization has broadened opportunities
for African women, it has also given rise to new
challenges and inequalities. Unequal access to
education, limited job opportunities, and wage
gaps persist, preventing many women from
fully benefiting from the positive aspects of
globalization. Additionally, as more women enter
the formal workforce, they continue to face
discrimination, sexism, and harassment in the
workplace.
6. Environmental Impact:
Globalization has also led to adverse
environmental consequences, affecting women
disproportionately. The exploitation of natural
resources and unsustainable agricultural practices
have disrupted women’s traditional roles as
caretakers of the environment. Challenges such
as deforestation, soil degradation, pollution,
and climate change negatively impact women’s
livelihoods, health, and overall well-being.
Globalization has undoubtedly had a profound
impact on African women’s traditional roles
and values. While it has empowered women
economically, politically, and socially, it has
also disrupted cultural values and created
new challenges and inequalities. It is crucial
to promote policies that ensure the benefits
of globalization are equitably distributed and
address the unique needs and experiences of
African women. By recognizing and balancing the
positive and negative aspects, African societies
can strive for an inclusive and gender-just future,
where women can embrace their evolving roles
while preserving their cultural heritage.

of both humans and
nature. Water is life, and by
conserving it, Africa is securing
its future and the future of
its unique and irreplaceable
biodiversity.

African Heritage
Museums and Exhibits
Africa’s rich and diverse cultural heritage is a
source of pride and fascination for people around
the world. African heritage museums and exhibits
play a pivotal role in preserving this history,
celebrating its vibrant present, and educating
visitors about the continent’s multifaceted
traditions and contributions to global culture.
Let’s explore the significance of African heritage
museums and the treasures they house.
1. Showcasing Cultural Diversity:
Africa is a vast continent with a tapestry of
cultures, languages, and traditions. African
heritage museums and exhibits offer a window
into this kaleidoscope of diversity, showcasing
the art, music, dance, clothing, and rituals of
different ethnic groups. From the Ashanti culture
of West Africa to the Maasai of East Africa, these
institutions highlight the unique identities that
define the continent.
23
2. Historical Perspectives:
These museums provide invaluable insights into Africa’s
historical trajectory, including its pre-colonial, colonial,
and post-independence eras. Exhibits often include
artifacts, documents, and photographs that illuminate
the struggles, achievements, and contributions of
African societies throughout history.
3. Art and Artifacts:
African heritage museums are renowned for their
extensive collections of art and artifacts. Visitors can
admire sculptures, masks, textiles, pottery, jewelry, and
more. These items often reflect both the spiritual and
artistic expressions of various African cultures, making
them a source of fascination and inspiration.
4. African Diaspora:
The African diaspora, resulting from the transatlantic
slave trade, has left an indelible mark on countries
around the world. African heritage museums often
explore the connections between Africa and its
diaspora, fostering a deeper understanding of shared

List of Female African
Presidents
Who is the first female President in Africa? How many female Presidents has Africa had so far? Who are
the curremt African female presidents?
These are some of the many unknown great stories of African women. In fact, the narrative we hear often
is negative, portraying African woman’s struggles, rather than her achievements and breakthroughs.
Thus, this profile of African Women Heads of State aims at telling the other side of their story and most
importantly inspiring today and tomorrow’s generations of African woman to be greater than those
who came before then.
Below is a list of the African Women Heads of States
27
Slyvie Kiningi, Acting President of Burundi
(February – October 1993)
The first female President in Africa was Slyvie Kiningi. She
was the Prime Minister of Burundi from February 10, 1993
to October 7, 1994. During this period, she served as the
acting President of the country from October 27, 1993 to
February 5, 1994 when the incumbent President Melchior
Ndadaye was shot together with 6 of his officials. After his
death, Kiningi gathered 15 ministers to continue to govern
the country. Thus, technically making her the first female
president on the continent.
Ivy Matsepe-Cassaburi, Acting President of
South Africa (September 2005)
Ivy Matsepe-Cassaburi also served temporarily as the
acting President of South Africa when the President and his
vice were out of the country for four days in September of
2005. She was also selected by the cabinet to serve as the
constitutional and official head of state for an interim period
of 14 hours on September 25, 2008. This was the period
between the resignation of the current President Thabo
Mbeki and the taking of office by the Kgalema Motlanthe.
Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of Liberia
( January 2006 – January 2018)
Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is Africa’s first elected President who
served two consecutive terms after winning the 2005
and 2011 Presidential elections. She had initially run for
Presidential office in 1997 against Charles Taylor, but she lost.
During her tenure she was also elected Chair of the Economic
Community of West African States in June of 2016.
28
Rose Francine Rogombe, Interim President of
Gabon (June 2009 – October 2009)
Rose Francine Rogombe served as interim President of
Gabon from June 2009 to October 2009 after the death of
President of Omar Bongo. As President of the Senate at that
time, she automatically became the Head of State because
she was constitutionally the first in line for presidential
succession.
Agnes Monique Ohsan Bellepeau, Acting President of
Mauritius (March – July 2012 and May – June 2015)
Agnes Monique Ohsan Bellepeau was the Acting President
of Mauritius from March 31, 2012 – July 21, 2012. This was
the transition period between the resignation of the current
President Anerood Jugnauth to the inauguration of the
new President Kailash Purryag. She served again as Acting
President between the resignation of Purryag and the
inauguration of the new President, Ameenah Gurib from May
29, 2015 – June 5, 2015.
Joyce Hilda Banda, President of Malawi
(April 2012 – May 2014)
Joyce Hilda Banda served as President of Malawi from April
7, 2012 to May 31, 2014 following the death of President
Bingu wa Mutharika. She was the country’s fourth President.
She was also the country’s first female Vice President (May
2009 to April 2012). In 2014, Forbes named President Banda
as the 40th most powerful woman in the world and the most
powerful woman in Africa.
29
Catherine Samba, Acting President of Central
African Republic (January 2014 – March 2016)
Catherine Samba Panza was the Acting Head of State of the
Central African Republic from 2014 to 2016. She became
interim President when rebel leader Michael Djotodia
resigned from his self appointed Presidency. Before she took
on this role, she was the mayor of the capital city Bangui
from 2013 to 2014.
Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, President of Mauritius
(June 2015 – March 2018)
Ameenah Gurib-Fakim was the first female President of
Mauritius from 2015 to 2018. She was selected to be a
Presidential candidate in 2014 following the resignation of
then President Kailash Purryag. She was unanimously elected
President by the National Assembly.
Sahle-Work Zewde, President of Ethiopia
(October 2018 – Present)
Sahle-Work Zewde is the first elected female President
of Ethiopia and currently the only female out of the 54
Presidents in Africa. She took office on October 25, 2018
after being unanimously elected by members of the National
Parliamentary Assembly. Prior to her election as President,
she worked as Special Representative of United Nations
Secretary-General António Guterres to the African Union
and Head of the United Nations Office to the African Union.
30
Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of Tanzania
(March 2021 – Present)
Samia Suluhu Hassan is the first acting female President of
Tanzania and joins the ranks of Sahle-work Zewde as the only
other current female President on the continent. She was
sworn into office on March 19, 2019 after the sudden passing
of the former Tanzanian President, John Magufuli. Prior to
being selected as Magufuli’s running mate, Hassan was an
avid journalist and activist in Tanzania.
These African women Heads of State stand on the shoulders of many female giants, known and
unknown, remembered and forgotten, who came before them. These include for example, but not
limited to the Dahomey Amazons of Benin, an all-female military regiment on whose shoulders stand
many women serving in armed services and law enforcement.
The contribution of women to what Africa is today is unquestionable. However, the recovery from the
disruptive and brutal colonization and slave trade has been very slow. Partially, African leaders mostly
male who mismanaged, abused and continue to abuse their power since the end of colonization equally
share the blame for disempowering African women whose contribution is unequivocally needed to
build a more prosperous, just and peaceful Africa.

15 Ways A
Woman
Wants To Be
Treated
There is no fool-proof plan for how to
treat a woman right. As individuals,
women are entitled to their own feelings,
unique emotions and expectations. Not
all of them like frequent lavish dinners or need
you to always hold the door for them. While they
do occasionally want to feel special and loved,
their actual wants in a relationship are more of an
emotional nature.
intimacy that she would savor.
The answer to how to treat your girlfriend right lies
in breaking down those walls, showing her your
vulnerable side and letting her into your heart and
life. Sounds like a tall order? Well, if your heart is in
the right place and you truly feel a connection with
her, it will come to you organically. To help you give
a little jumpstart, we’re here with some insights
into how to treat a woman in a relationship.
How to treat a woman you love is not merely
about taking her to the right movies to show her
that you care. It runs much deeper than that. In a
relationship, a woman does not just want to have
a good time but also wants to develop a strong,
meaningful connection with you, an emotional
So if you want to know how you should treat a
woman you love, how to make her feel wanted
and cared for, how to make her feel loved and
appreciated, then you should follow our handy
tips.
1. Be present in all your interactions
When you love someone, they expect you to
go beyond their superficial characteristics and
understand them more deeply. A woman does not
want you to simply fall for her charm, but identify
the depth to her personality. When a woman
opens up, she wants to show you a side of her she
does not show often to other people.
If you want to treat a woman right in your
interactions, you must be present and receptive
to everything that she is willing to share with you.
Whether it is anecdotes from her past or a quarrel
she had at the workplace, you must not ignore her.
To treat a woman right is to acknowledge her
existence and sometimes that is as simple
as giving her your undivided attention. Be it
understanding how to treat a woman on a date or
make your significant other feel appreciated and
valued, being a good listener is the key.
33
2. Ask about her day
How to treat your girlfriend right and be the
man of her dreams? Not only should you be fully
present and receptive, but you should also be
inquisitive. To know how to treat a woman you
love is to know all about her. She could be bursting
with emotions or stories that she might want to
share with you. But you must not always wait for
her to do it herself.
You should bring up the topics she spoke about
earlier, ask how her friends are doing and also
endearingly enquire about her day. A woman
does not just want to share her life with you. She
also wants to know that you want to do the same
with her.
Through your interest, you can let her know that
you’re just as invested in her as she is in you. That
alone is enough to make her feel like she’s loved,
valued, and cherished and has a partner who
treats her right.
3. Always call her back
Forgetting to call her back can make her feel like
she is not important enough to you
How is a man supposed to treat a woman? In a
manner that doesn’t leave her constantly secondguessing
his intentions and feelings. Being
responsive, initiating contact and reciprocating
her efforts to stay connected are just a few ways
to do that.
To treat a woman with respect is to be aware of
her approach toward you. When she calls you, she
probably misses you. However, if you are unable
to take her call, that is okay. Just do not forget to
call her back when you get the chance.
It is normal to forget to call somebody back but
not in the case with a partner involved. To be part
of each other’s lives is to give greater attention to
one another. Forgetting to call her back can make
her feel like she is not important enough to you.
Also, ensure you text her back even if you do not
text her first.
4. Tell her the things you are passionate about
The answer to how to treat a woman romantically
lies is making her feel like she’s an integral and
important part of your life. A woman needs to
know that you see her the same way that she sees
you. She wants you to be interested and would
love to return the favor to you.
To treat a woman right, you should not shield your
emotions, opinions, or ideas from her. A healthy
relationship stands on mutual communication.
When you talk to her you make her feel special.
She would love to know more about your personal
life and who you are as a person. Give her that
chance and open up to her.
5. Be perceptive
Most of my friends who are in their 20s complain
about the lack of this action by men. Especially
during the initial days of dating, it can be difficult
to gauge what a person wants or the things
that they like. However, women always do drop
some subtle hints. If you want to treat a woman
romantically in the right way, pick up those hints.
34
Whether a woman wants to
get physically intimate in that
moment or is plainly bored of
the situation, she will leave cues.
To sniff those cues becomes
your main responsibility. Do not
be oblivious to her even if she
gives you mixed signals to learn
how to treat her romantically.
You do not need to go over
the top in doing so, but a little
awareness and perception
would be much appreciated.
When she knows that you are in
tune with her feelings and value
them, she will feel content and
cared for.
6. Care about the things that
are important to her
To treat a woman you love is
not just about knowing her likes
and dislikes, but also showing
that you care about the same. If
she cares a lot about her family
or her dog, let your awareness
of that reflect positively in your
interactions. To know what she
cares about most you can ask
her a few questions.
If she cares about her sister
deeply, you should remember
that and perhaps invite her
over to a fun dinner. If your
partner is super invested in her
job and cares fiercely about her
work, revel in her ideologies
with her. Using the things that
are important to her to build
a strong connection with her
is an underrated but impactful
way to treat a woman in a
relationship the right way.
35
7. Empathize with her
How is a man supposed to treat
a woman? In a manner that she
can rest assured that he’s got
her back, and feels absolutely
secure in the relationship. One
of the many ways you can make
that special woman in your life
feel that way is by always being
there for her.
If the woman you love is having
a rough day or week, she might
need you to more than just
hug her through it. Remember,
a primary reason you two
are together is that she loves
you for who you are from the
inside.
When she is going through a
rough patch, she needs you to
work your magic and be the
person she fell in love with. To
remind her that she is loved
and appreciated. She needs
to know there are far better
things in her life than her
problems, she needs you to be
there for her.
8. Make her meet your
friends
What does it mean to respect a
partner? How to treat a woman
with respect? Is it about always
agreeing with her? Or through
chivalrous acts like holding
doors for her? No, and no.
You can make a woman feel
respected by making her a part
of your life and not leaving her
feeling like she’s a dark little
secret that needs to be hidden
from the people you’re closest
to.
that you are proud of her and
your relationship with her. You
never want her to feel like you
are ashamed of her. To avoid
those feelings completely,
weave her into your life as
much as you can. A great way
to do that is to introduce her
to your friends. That way she
will know that you enjoy being
with her and consider her
important enough to meet the
rest of the pack.
9. Cook her dinner once in a
while
The answer to how to treat
a woman romantically lies
in small, arbitrary and loving
gestures. Cooking is a beautiful
way to look after someone
and also charm them. It is a
relatively simple effort that can
go a long way.
When you put in the effort to
make your dates special, your
partner will feel more valued.
This is a great way to make her
feel wanted. By making her
favorite meal, you will make her
feel appreciated. Pop open a
bottle of wine and it’s basically
an adorable homely date.
It may seem like an insignificant
act compared to all the grand
gestures you can make to
let her know how much she
matters to you. But it is these
little things in life that actually
bring partners together and tie
them in a lasting bond.
A woman always wants to know
36
10. Be vocal about what you
like about her
To treat a woman like a queen,
you must always push her on
to be her best self. By putting
faith in you, she wants you to
be honest with her completely
about what you think of her.
It can be nice to pepper some
compliments to treat a woman
well.
These compliments should not
be made up or for the sake of
the conversation. When you
like her, you will truly notice the
things you appreciate about
her. All you have to do is let
her also know that you see and
appreciate those things. Tell
her you find her irresistible.
This is the ideal way to treat her
romantically.
Likewise, if you’re wondering
how to treat a woman with
respect and show her how much
you appreciate her for who
she is, pay her compliments
about her strongest suits and
personality traits. A little “You do
so much for everyone around
you” or “I value how passionate
you are about this cause” can
intensify the way you see each
other.
11. Know what her dreams are
To like a person intensely is
to always be on the quest to
understand them. One thing
you should pay close attention
to is her dreams. Everyone’s
aspirations are very important
to them and mold who they are
as people. You will absolutely
win her heart if you can be the
wind beneath her wings.
To treat a woman well is to
be aware of who she wants
to be. Whether she wants to
be a lawyer, a homemaker,
a businesswoman or all of
them, her dreams should be as
important to you as she is. The
key to how to treat a woman
right in a relationship is to never
get in the way of her dreams or
invalidate them.
12. Make her feel sexy in your
encounters
How to treat your girlfriend
right? By letting her know how
lucky you feel to have her in
your life. A boyfriend should
treat his girlfriend like she is the
hottest thing on the planet to
him. No woman wants to feel
insecure about not being good
or desirable enough for a man.
When you desire her physically,
let her know that she blows
your mind away. A soft ‘you
look so beautiful tonight’ in the
middle of a kiss, can triple her
confidence when she is with
you. She will feel so wanted.
37
13. Value her unique ideas
Whether in good or bad ways, a woman will always
be different from you and hold other opinions and
ideas. You do not have to conform to the way she
thinks but you should always value the things she
thinks about.
For example, she believes in a unique philosophical
notion that you completely disagree with. Yet,
you owe it to her to listen to her ideas and try to
understand what makes her think that way. How
to treat a woman with respect boils down to this.
15. Remember the little things
‘‘Wasn’t your first dog’s name, Peaches?’’ or “You
don’t like olives on your pizza, right?’’ are random
sentences that can bring a smile to her face. To
show a woman that you truly love her and have
made a space for her in your life, you should try to
remember the silly, little details she tells you.
Every time my own boyfriend knew things about
me that I didn’t even remember telling him, I felt a
whole new sense of security and love. It’s always
the little things that show the biggest picture.
Neither of you have to change the way you feel but
you should not judge or demean her for thinking
differently. You should respect her for who she is.
When you do, you will naturally respect her ideas
and perspective.
14. Respect her space
A woman will make it crystal clear to you if she
needs some time to cool off or alone time with
her thoughts. Barraging her with questions and
smothering her with love at that point will not do
the trick. Whether she is visibly upset or simply
contemplative, a woman deserves her time to
herself. Allow her to be on her own without feeling
threatened.
The right way to treat a woman in a relationship is
to give her space to be her own person. And that
includes not making a big deal out of her wanting
to take time to blow some steam off.
What does a woman need in a relationship?
A relationship can be like venturing into the ocean,
one that can be really fun to sail on. But to make
that experience a happy one, the captain and the
crew have to be in sync. For a smooth journey,
there needs to be smooth communication and
constructive exchange between both.
What a woman needs in a relationship, is a partner
that she can rely on. A smooth exchange of actions,
words, opinions and feelings is really important to
her. Not only does she want someone to trust, but
she wants to feel trusted too.
With love, comes a lot of responsibility towards
the other person. A woman needs someone to
have the strength to uphold those responsibilities
instead of driving straight into turbulent waters.
And even when the going gets tough, she needs to
have someone whose hand she can hold without
any concerns, amidst the crisis
