With digital remote monitoring, you can keep an eye 

on the operating data of your energy system easily 

and conveniently via computer, tablet or smartphone 

at any time and from anywhere. All data is logged 

over the entire operating time of the heating system, 

thus ensuring transparency and security.

With the current generation of mobile central heating 

units, HOTVIEW allows you to monitor all the operating 

data of your mobile central heating unit in real 

time via PC, tablet or smartphone - from the comfort 

of your own home. The COOLVIEW remote monitoring 

tool for COOLUNIT chillers from 100 kW can be 

used to call up the most important operating data.

Our classic option 

The mobile heating units with heat outputs from 20 to 2,500 kW are suitable for a wide variety of 

applications. For example, for thermal disinfection of drinking water systems to protect against legionella 

infestation, for conversion work on the heat supply, for screed drying, for supplying district heating, as 

process heat or as fermenter heating for biogas plants. Mobile heating centers are also used in the event 

sector for domestic hot water preparation or to generate heat. 

Chilling, air-conditioning and ventilation 

An increasingly relevant topic. Our comprehensive portfolio of mobile cooling offers you the best 

available. For example, mobile split air-conditioning units for cooling server rooms or replacement cold 

water for process cooling. Suitable accessories such as ventilation units, mobile pump units or plate heat 

exchangers round off the portfolio. 

Steam and hot water units 

Our mobile steam and hot water units are the high-end products in our rental fleet. Special 

designs and safety measures are required to cope with the particularly high temperatures and pressure 

conditions. Specially trained technicians will be happy to advise you on the implementation of your 

projects. Whether process steam for industry, production or district heating - we have the right solution. 

Our smallest units 

But still with great performance. Our mobile electric heating units are available for purchase or hire in 

various output classes up to 36 kW. Thanks to the mobile transport frame, they can easily be moved 

by one person and as no exhaust fumes are produced, they can be installed directly in the building. 

Complete with 3 pre-installed heating programs, they are ideal for drying screeds.

And, of course, fitted with heating water generation,

1. Which energies? 

There are numerous types of energy failures. What 

can the mobile HOTBOY energy units provide, also as 

temporary measures? And when does the use of a 

mobile energy unit make sense? 

HOTMOBIL: HOTMOBIL is specialised in providing 

energy to buildings. In specific, we offer mobile 

solutions for heating, cooling and providing hot 

water or steam. Our availability includes mobile 

heating units, mobile chiller units, mobile hot water 

units and mobile steam units. We also cover the low 

output range up to 40 kW, for example with mobile 

electric heaters. In addition we offer a large range 

of accessories with mobile air heaters, mobile tank 

systems, mobile pumps, mobile heat exchangers, 

mobile boiler tanks, mobile expansion vessels, and 

much more. Their use is always indicated when energy 

failures need to be compensated for over certain 

periods of time. This could be the case for alterations, 

disasters, building delays or acceleration, special 

and process applications, delivery problems, covering 

peak loads, etc. For prolonged use, the purchase 

of a mobile energy unit may prove to be the more 

economical solution. To this purpose we have our 

own planning department as well as state-of-the-art 

manufacturing facilities. 

2. Uninterrupted supply of energy 

Can mobile energy units maintain an uninterrupted 

supply of energy while the energy supply system is 

being reconstructed without requiring alterations or 

temporary measures in the building? 

HOTMOBIL: no alterations to the system in the 

building are necessary, other than providing suitable 

media feeds from the indoor installation. A mobile 

energy unit is delivered to the site at the agreed 

time, connected to the indoor installation via flexible 

and pressure-stable hoses, and operations can commence. 

This allows heating, cooling or steam systems 

and their distribution network to be dismantled and 

newly installed without having to interrupt the 

supply of energy. 

3. Costs and billing 

What costs can be expected for the use of mobile 

energy units? 

HOTMOBIL: the costs for hiring the used energy units 

is calculated on the number of days in use and the 

output provided. Add to this a flat fee for transport 

and set-up. If the period of use is known in advance, 

then the costs can be determined exactly from the 

outset. 

4. Transport and installation 

What are the requirements for transport and operation 

of a mobile energy unit at the site? 

HOTMOBIL: the selection of the suitable mobile 

energy unit already starts during the planning phase. 

On site, the unit can be placed directly next to the 

building to provide the shortest possible connection 

to the property, for example near a basement 

window or light shaft. If direct access to the point 

of installation is restricted or not possible, a variety 

of different unit models are available, for example, 

by placement using a crane. In the case of larger 

projects, the customer will be supported by a 

HOTMOBIL project consultant who checks local 

conditions and access routes to the building prior to 

placing the order. 

5. Connection to building 

How are the connections made to the system 

connection in the building? 

HOTMOBIL: hose couplings are provided on the rental 

units for connection to the building system which 

are then attached in the building. The HOTMOBIL 

service technicians will connect these to the feed 


points of the indoor installation via pressure-stable, 

temperature-resistant hoses. 

6. Tenders and billing 

How are mobile energy units described in the specifications? 

Which billing units apply? Which services 

need to be provided at the property and need to be 

specified? 

HOTMOBIL: specification texts are available as downloads 

at https://hotmobil.com/downloads for all 

energy units and other products for inclusion in the 

specifications. The rental period in days is the billing 

unit. Additional positions include transport, connection 

of the energy units, as well as set-up and instructions. 

The competent specialist company is to provide 

the required feed points for the connection of the 

connecting hoses at the property. It is the responsibility 

of the contractor to provide electrical power for 

the mobile energy units or to organise fuel (heating 

oil or gas). For the latter we also offer a so-called fuel 

management. 

7. Locations and availability 

Are mobile energy units only available in certain 

regions? 

HOTMOBIL: Hotmobil Deutschland GmbH currently 

has around 1,600 rental units available at its own 

locations throughout Germany. All requests for 

mobile energy units are initially received via the 

service hotline at the headquarters in Gottmadingen. 

All processing and coordination takes place 

from there, so that the customer has a central 

contact person and the organizational effort is 

kept to a minimum. Hotmobil customers have the 

option of agreeing a heat guarantee with the 

company. This ensures guaranteed delivery within 

12 to 24 hours. 

8. Operation and Service 

Who is responsible for reliable operation during use? 

What services does HOTMOBIL provide? 

HOTMOBIL: HOTMOBIL provides set-up and start-up 

using their own personnel. This includes installation 

and transport to and from the site. After startup, 

HOTMOBIL transfers the mobile energy unit to 

the appropriate company per protocol and trains 

their employees in the operation of the unit. From 

this point in time the specialist company is then responsible 

for the energy unit, however, in case of any 

malfunctions the »round the clock« HOTMOBIL 

emergency service is available. 

9. Technology and energy efficiency 

How reliable are mobile energy units? At what 

technical level do they operate? Can energy-saving 

operation be expected to keep fuel or energy costs 

within limits during operation? 

HOTMOBIL: the technology of the mobile energy

Frequently asked questions | Sale 

1. Price indication 

Can you name me a guide price? 

HOTMOBIL: In order to provide a reliable estimate 

of the expected costs for your individual system, 

our project managers need at least rough details of 

the desired structure and equipment of the mobile 

energy unit. Based on the experience gained from a 

large number of customized systems that have already 

been implemented, we can then give you a fairly 

accurate estimate of the expected costs. 

2. Design, dimensions and weight 

How much space do I need to build into my calculation 

for a mobile power unit? How much does it 

weigh? 

HOTMOBIL: In all cases, mobile power units are 

installed in special boxed trailers or in oversea or 

storage containers. We always strive to build these 

units as compactly as possible, on the basis of 

standard dimensions. Customized dimensions may 

however prove necessary in one-off cases. The weight 

of a mobile power unit depends on the desired 

power rating or the required components. As a rough 

standard value, you can assume weights of approx. 

1.6 thru 3.5 tons for trailer-mounted units with a 

power rating of 150 to 950 kW. Mobile power units 

in a container with a power rating of up to 2,500 kW 

weigh between 3.5 and 8 tons. 

3. Feedback control technology 

What types of feedback control are possible? 

HOTMOBIL: We plan and produce mobile power 

units individually to suit customer wishes. As a consequence, 

we are best equipped to adapt the feedback 

control system on the unit to the building it 

will ultimately be serving with mobile power. Across 

the board, all types of hydraulic circuit and feedback 

control system are feasible. We can also connect 

these units if required to primary feedback control 

systems. Based on your requirements, our Project 

Managers will be delighted to draw up and quote 

on an appropriate feedback control concept for your 

system. 

4. Expansion Vessels 

Which expansion vessels are used? 

HOTMOBIL: Across the board, all kinds of expansion 

vessel are feasible. The choice of expansion unit does 

however have a significant influence on the ultimate 

size of the overall system. A decisive point is whether 

protection is required on just the heat generating 

circuit, or also on the consumer network. Depending 

on requirements, either a compressor-controller 

expansion vessel or a static one, with the addition of 

automatic refill and/or gas relief/evacuation may be 

needed. To comply with directive VDI 2035, a water 

treatment unit is also a required element. 

5. Connection options 

Which connections are present on the unit at which 

location? 

HOTMOBIL: The interfaces for heating water and, 

when necessary, for domestic hot water are fitted as 

standard on one of the external walls of the unit. The 

connections for power supply, condensate and fuel 

fill are normally inside the unit for safety reasons. 

Where technically feasible, we will also be pleased 

to cater for any individual placement wishes you may 

have. The connection dimensions correlate with the 

performance rating of the unit, and its corresponding 

volumetric flow rate. Regardless of this, the type 

of connections can be selected to provide a precise 

match with your preferences, meaning that external 

threads, flanges and all kinds of quick-release 

couplings are possible. 


6. CE conformity 

Is the unit CE-compliant? 

HOTMOBIL: Yes! All of our units comply with the 

latest applicable standards and specifications, and 

are duly identified as such. 

7. Accessories 

Which accessories are required? 

HOTMOBIL: You never need to provide us with 

accessories of any kind. All of our individually 

produced mobile power units are independent, 

standalone systems, each one precisely matched to 

your needs and on-site conditions. Once connected 

up to the required media supply points, i.e. with 

electricity, water and fuel and/or condensate, the 

unit is ready to run. In cases where your individually 

produced unit is intended for use at different 

locations, flexible hose material may be required for 

connection to these systems in certain cases. Whenever 

required, our Project Managers will be delighted 

to discuss all of this with you in advance.

10. Sale of rental units 

Is it possible to purchase rental units? 

HOTMOBIL: Certainly, the sale of a rental unit is 

always an option. Please contact our Project

assistance. We will be delighted to check the 

availability of the desired unit, and can provide you 

with a quotation in respect of purchase of any rental 

unit. 

8. Water quality standards 

Is a water treatment facility mandatory? 

HOTMOBIL: VDI 2035 is the directive that deals with 

the prevention of damage in hot water heating units. 

If at the planning stage, no fixed installation for water 

treatment has been envisaged, we are also able to 

fill your unit directly on site with standard-compliant 

treated water. 

9. Delivery and delivery lead time 

How are units delivered to site? How fast can you 

deliver? 

HOTMOBIL: When needed, we are pleased to 

arrange transport together with any crane/lifting 

equipment that may be required, and can also offer
