THE GIFT OF GIVING AT BLUES
FOLLOWING A HUGELY SUCCESSFUL BLUE NOSE DAY, PLAYERS AND STAFF FROM
BIRMINGHAM CITY DISTRIBUTED CHRISTMAS GIFTS ACROSS THE CITY.
Men’s First Team Captain, Dion Sanderson, John
Ruddy and Brandon Khela joined Jeremy Dale
from the Club’s Leadership Team and Natalie
Loon from the Birmingham Children’s Trust to hand
out teddies, water bottles, hats and blankets to
young people and support workers, ensuring more
than 11,500 children have a gift this festive season.
As well as collecting their presents, all in
attendance had the chance to chat to the players
about their lives and the impact the gifts will have on
the local community, with Sanderson learning some
festive sign language from one of the youngsters.
The players also met with some of the most
generous Commercial partners to thank them for
their contributions, with more than £15,000 pledged
to the cause at a recent networking event.
The wider Birmingham City staff also volunteered
their time in support of the Birmingham City
Foundation to get the presents into the hands of
those who need them most, with more than 40
people visiting Children’s Trust sites across the city.
Teams from all departments headed out to the Blesst
Centre in Hockley, the Lighthouse in Aston and the
Birmingham Children’s Trust headquarters in the
city centre, as well as residential homes, and gifted
support staff with chocolates alongside the boxes of
presents.
All of Birmingham City’s gifting campaign was made
possible by the generosity of Bluenoses, supporter
clubs and partners who collectively raised more than
£75,000 across the Blue Nose Day campaign.
The Club wishes to thank all Bluenoses who have
contributed to the biggest gift campaign ever
delivered to the Birmingham Children’s Trust.
