Francine Munyaneza, CEO of MUNYAX ECO
,whose journey from refugee to visionary entrepreneur fuels her mission of
providing clean energy access and empowering women. Growing up, Francine
faced energy challenges firsthand, sparking her commitment to address them.
Leaving her role at ICRC, she founded MUNYAX ECO, aligning her personal
experiences with a desire to combat climate change and promote women's
empowerment.
MUNYAX ECO's milestones include signing the Solar Rwanda Program, installing
a solar hybrid mini-grid in Burundi, winning awards like the ABH competition, and
achieving gender balance in its workforce. Challenges, including limited finance
and gender biases, were overcome through partnerships, diversification, and
determination.
Francine's lessons for aspiring entrepreneurs include self-belief, alignment with
global agendas, and resilience in the face of challenges. Looking ahead,
MUNYAX ECO aims to expand across Africa, promote gender inclusion, establish
a manufacturing unit, and integrate high-tech solutions. Francine's journey
exemplifies the transformative impact of purpose-driven entrepreneurship,
paving the way for a sustainable and inclusive future in Africa.
