Belichick’s coaching skill, or Tom Brady?

Generally regarded
around the National
Football League as one of
the — if not THE — greatest
ever coach ever, Bill
Belichick today stands outside
with his faced pressed
against the window and
waits for another coaching
opportunity.
While he’s only 27 wins
away from becoming the
NFL’s all-time winningest
coach, Belichick is finding
out the hard way that team
owners and general managers
are more interested in
future success than past
accomplishments.’
The question is: Was
Belichick’s overwhelming
success in New England,
where he racked up 266 wins
in 24 years, due to superior
coaching skill or was it
because he had the NFL’s
greatest quarterback ever,
Tom Brady, at the helm of
his offence?
It’s a legitimate question,
because from 2001 to 2019,
Brady guided the Patriots to
nine Super Bowl appearances,
winning six.
Belichick’s Patriots
posted a 5-11 record in
2000, the year before Brady
took over as quarterback
and then racked up 19 consecutive
winning seasons
with Brady at QB.
After his star quarterback
quit the Patriots and signed
with Tampa Bay — where
he won his seventh Super
Bowl in his first year —
Belichick’s Patriots had
losing seasons in three of
four years.
The stats are stark: With
Brady, Belichick has a headcoaching
record of 232-72. In
the four post-Brady seasons,
his coaching record is a miserable
29-39.
With eight coaching
vacancies needing to be
filled in this off-season, only
one team took the time to
interview Belichick, and
that was Atlanta Falcons,
who eventually hired
Raheem Morris.
So are NFL teams wary of
Belichick’s talent as a coach,
given his mediocre record
without Brady?
Are they concerned that
at age 70, that the game has
passed him by? Is his poor
draft record a factor? Do
they think Belichick’s
interest in coaching is solely
for the opportunity to surpass
Don Shula as the coach
with the most wins in NFL
history?
The NFL rumour mill
said if a coaching job is not
in Belichick’s future, then
he might be able to land a

As well, he leads the nation in a way
that shows contempt for the law. And
the evidence is shocking: violent crime
is up 40 per cent, sex crimes against
children are up a shocking 126 per
cent, and car thefts are up by more
than 33 per cent. It is unbelievable the
Trudeau Liberals are standing by
their catch-and-release Bill C-75,
which allows repeat offenders to be
released on bail within hours of their
arrest, while they continue to support
their law-breaking leader.
Canadians deserve better.
Conservatives will respect the rule of
law. We will repeal catch-and-release
rules in Justin Trudeau’s Bills C-75
and C-5 to ensure repeat offenders get
jail, not bail. This along with common
sense measures will increase penalties
for dangerous repeat offenders, provide
meaningful programs that reduce
recidivism, deal with organized crime,
and ensure that victims’ rights are
protected.
One of the issues dominating headlines
recently is vehicle theft. Just last
week I was told about a local story
where two stolen service trucks sped
through the community (including the
school zone) at a dangerous speed.
Rural and urban communities alike
are not feeling safe anymore with
police left with few options.
This has also led to skyrocketing
insurance rates. And recently, we have
seen devastating examples of crimes
being committed in an increasingly
flagrant way, domestic disputes
turning deadly in public, murders by
recently released offenders, organized
crime ruling our streets, and massive
increases in the rates of fraud.
Not only does there seem to be an
ideological aversion to the Liberals
standing up to criminals, but it’s
hardly surprising when the lawlessness
is led by the Prime Minister
himself, who has already been found
to be in violation of the Ethics Act at
least twice.

Government will
return Canada to
a country that
honours and
respects the rule
of law, puts victims
first, keeps
repeat violent
offenders behind
bars, and provides
hope for
those caught in
the poisonous
cycle of addiction.

SPECIAL AREAS BOARD - LAND USE ORDER
A PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD
TUESDAY, MARCH 12, 2024 BEGINNING AT 1:30 PM
PLACE: SPECIAL AREAS YOUNGSTOWN SERVICE CENTRE,
MAIN BOARDROOM, 404-2ND AVE NE, YOUNGSTOWN, AB
As per the Municipal Government Act, the Minister
of Municipal Affairs and the Special Areas Board has
drafted and proposed an updated Special Areas Land
Use Order to replace the current Special Areas-2, 3
and 4Land Use Order (MSL:007 /15).
The Land Use Order (LUO) is a statutory document
that regulates the use and development of land within
Special Area 2, 3, and 4. The LUO regulates how land
can be used, including what uses are appropriate and
where they can be located. Some of the key changes
proposed include:
