Helping young people in underserved communities across Great<br />
Britain get active and experience the physical, social and mental<br />
benefits of tennis – this is the LTA SERVES programme.<br />
The industry leading sport for development<br />
programme aimed at children and young<br />
people aged 4-18 takes tennis into the heart<br />
of local communities to those who may never<br />
have had the opportunity to play before, or<br />
thought the sport was for them. It’s all about<br />
having fun with friends, keeping mentally and<br />
physically fit all the while learning new skills<br />
beyond the tennis court. Through the power<br />
of tennis, we want to help more children and<br />
young people build their self-confidence,<br />
community cohesion and knowledge around<br />
health and wellbeing.<br />
The LTA empower and equip over 1500<br />
Tennis Activators throughout Britain, offering<br />
volunteers, leaders and youth workers the<br />
training and skills they need to run fun and<br />
engaging tennis sessions for children and<br />
young people in their communities.<br />
No court, no problem – the LTA SERVES<br />
programme has been created so sessions<br />
can be delivered in community centres,<br />
youth clubs, faith venues and other places!<br />
Who can get involved?<br />
LTA SERVES encourages any community<br />
venue, local, regional and national<br />
organisations to get involved in the<br />
programme and bring the benefits of tennis to<br />
their community.<br />
It doesn’t matter if you’ve never picked up<br />
a racket before – if you have a passion for<br />
tennis and want to help more young people<br />
get active playing our sport, then you could<br />
become an Activator.<br />
You don’t need any equipment or any tennis<br />
courts – just bring your enthusiasm and the<br />
LTA will help you with the rest.<br />
