ZEENA’S
FASHION DESIGN PORTFOLIO
INTRODUCTION
Zeena Zriqat
Greetings, my name is Zeena, and I am pleased to present my
portfolio. This collection primarily showcases my artistic
endeavors spanning from grade 8 through grade 12. Within this
portfolio, you will find a compilation of my drawings, along with
both incomplete and completed design projects crafted over the
years. Fashion design holds a special place in my heart as it is my
true passion. I am earnestly seeking opportunities to further hone
and develop my skills in fashion design, and I am eager to pursue
this endeavor within the esteemed confines of your university.

My First Design In 8th Grade
In the eighth grade, we were tasked with designing a stuffed animal aimed at
enhancing children’s learning abilities. I chose to develop a mouse specifically
tailored to aid children in learning the alphabet, with the intention of imbuing the
educational process with elements of enjoyment and motivation.

Design’s i’ve done in 9th Grade
These illustrations were employed
during my ninth-grade textile class to
inspire the conceptualization of a
garment, be it a dress or a finalized
product.

My charcoal drawing
This charcoal artwork, created during my art class, depicts a vase
accompanied by a piece of clothing. While its appearance may seem
simplistic, charcoal as a medium presents significant challenges. Initially,
I encountered difficulties that I had not anticipated, yet through
perseverance and guidance from my teacher, I was able to overcome
these challenges and achieve commendable results.

My pastel drawing
For this artwork, I opted to utilize hard pastels instead of oil
pastels, which presented a challenge initially as I am more
accustomed to working with oil pastels due to their ease of
color blending. However, despite this initial struggle, this
particular drawing remains one of my favorites.

My oil pastel drawing
During class, I completed a pastel drawing, even
though with some difficulty in blending the
colors initially. However, through persistence
and careful technique, I successfully achieved
the desired blending effect, resulting in a
satisfactory outcome.

My shell marker and charcoal drawing
This artwork is an attempt to replicate the shell image displayed at
the top. The black and white rendition, executed with marker and
charcoal, exhibits a superior quality compared to its colored
counterpart. The colored rendition suffers from a poor choice of
color scheme, rendering it one of my less satisfactory artistic
endeavors.

My acrylic painting
While not my most exemplary work, this art piece holds a special place
among my favorites. Its creation required considerable effort to
achieve anatomical correctness, particularly in rendering the hands.
Despite encountering challenges in this aspect, I take pride in the
overall result. Additionally, the incorporation of pointillism using
acrylic paint, though initially perceived as daunting, proved to be a
relatively straightforward process, contributing to the textured
appearance evident in the final composition.

My Acrylic Painting
This acrylic painting stands as one of my favored works thus far.
Throughout its creation, I encountered challenges, particularly
in rendering the head, necessitating multiple revisions.
However, through perseverance, the composition gradually
coalesced into a cohesive whole.

Charcoal Drawing
Rendering this charcoal cup proved to be a formidable task, as achieving the desired shading and
verisimilitude required meticulous attention.
Furthermore, the interplay of light upon the cup compounded the challenge, further demanding precision in its depiction.

This dress exemplifies the fashion of the 1900s era, albeit depicted with some imperfections in
my rendering. Nonetheless, its aesthetic appeal remains noteworthy despite not being among my
finest sketches.
