The Lighthouse, one of the
oldest on the Great Lakes,
stands at the outlet of Lake
Ontario and the head of the
St. Lawrence River. Officially
in May 1981, the Coast Guard
left the Lighthouse. However,
the Coast Guard still
administers the light tower
with automation operations
coming from Oswego. Tibbetts
Point has the only operating
Fresnel Lens on Lake Ontario.
