Hello! Are you listening when God is talking? Scripture can save your life — literally

Have you ever wondered just what goes 

on when someone is talking to you, and 

they seem not to even be listening to what 

you are saying? 

This past week, I had someone that I 

needed to get a message across to and all 

that person did was look around and just 

seem to not care about what they needed 

to understand. Frustration was what 

I felt! It seemed like I was wasting my 

breath trying to explain what was going 

on and what to be prepared for. 

There was a complete lack of consideration 

for what needed to be known 

because of how this person reacted to 

what I had to say to help them. There

asked this person what they remembered 

from what was said during this message. 

I was not surprised by the remark that 

came back: “Nothing seemed important, 

so I was planning on what to eat tonight.” 

What? Wow. Nothing seemed important? 

Gee. I was just wasting time trying to 

get across a life-saving mode for rescuing 

someone, but it wasn’t important? 

I was crushed! This needed to be understood 

so there was no mistake with how 

to handle this situation. Then I thought 

about how God must feel at times when 

we let our minds wonder instead of listening 

to what is being said. Do you think 

that’s how God feels when we ignore what 

He has in our Bible? Do we just tune it all 

out and think of other things that we feel 

is more important than God’s message for 

us? 

When you are in church, do you listen 

to the message that the minister or 

priest is trying to tell and explain? Do you 

sit in church and daydream about other 

things when you should be listening to the 

message that is being preached? If you 

do, then you are missing the lifesaving, 

life-changing message that is needed to 

rescue us in times of trouble. Every message 

preached has something that needs 

to be listened to and understood. 

I tried to explain an especially important 

message and being ignored, I felt as 

if my message l on deaf ears. Can you 

imagine how God must feel when we do 

not listen to the message that the preacher 

is trying to preach? Once we start ignoring 

Bible messages we miss a life-saving 

tool that can help us in the long haul. 

Just missing the message can be something 

that we might have needed. When 

I tried to give a heads-up message to help 

someone with a situation at hand and was

Don’t you think God feels that way 

when you ignore what is being preached 

or what is written in the Bible to help you 

live a better life? Now is the time to pay 

attention and listen to the message that is 

spoken by the preacher and what you read 

in your Bible. 

There is a saying that the word, Bible, 

means Be Informed Before Leaving Earth. 

Are you paying attention? Or are you letting 

your mind wander around and thinking 

of other things? 

Yes, at times it may seem hard to stay 

focused, but it is important to do so. 

Life-saving messages are important just 

as much as other things — even more so. 

Stop and listen because it will be a 

blessing for you eventually. It could be 

life changing. Remember, only you can 

listen and learn what is needed for your 

life. No one can do it for you.
