Salim Bachi was born in Algeria in 1971. He studied literature
in Algeria and France, and now lives and works in France. His first book Le
Chien d’Ulysse was awarded the Goncourt du Premier Roman and his fourth
book Le Silence de Mahomet was shortlisted for the Prix Goncourt and the Prix
Renaudot. Published by Pushkin Press in 2010 as The Silence of Mohammed
it is currently longlisted for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award.
