JOKES

OF THE MONTH

It’s the World Cup Final, and a man makes his way

to his seat right in the front row. He sits down,

noticing that the seat next to him is empty. He

leans over and asks his neighbour if someone will

be sitting there. “No", says the neighbour. "The

seat is empty.” He answers, sadness in his voice.

"This is incredible", said the man. "Who in their

right mind would have a seat like this for the Final

and not use it?"

The neighbour says, "Well actually the seat

belongs to me. I was supposed to come with my

wife, but she passed away. This is the rst World

Cup Final we haven’t been to together since we

got married.”

"Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that. That’s terrible… But

couldn’t you nd someone else, a friend, relative

or even a neighbour to take her seat?" The man

shakes his head. “No", he says. "They’re all at the

funeral."

THE SUNNAH OF

HUZOOR (SAW) IN

MEETINGS AND

GATHERINGS

When Huzoor (SAW) was sitting

with Sahaba (RA), and talking

about matters of the Aakhirat, if he

saw that the people present were

not paying proper attention to the

matter under discussion or were

getting tired (which he could see

from their faces), then he would

immediately change the subject

and start to talk of some wordly

matter. When he saw the people in

the gathering were happy again,

then he would return to the subject

of the Aakhirat. If in the middle of a

lecture, someone stood up to ask a

question about something, then

Huzoor (SAW) did not like this and

would look at them in astonishment.

If Huzoor (SAW) was busy talking

about some question, and before

he had nished what he had to say

on the matter, someone put

forward some other question, then

Huzoor (SAW) would carry on with

what he was talking about, as if he

had not heard him. When he had

nished what he had to say, he

would ask what the question was

and then answer it. When Huzoor

(SAW) was sitting together with

Sahaba (RA), he would sit in the

middle and they would sit around

him, behind each other, more or

less in semi circles. When he

spoke, Huzoor (SAW) would turn

his face this way and that way so

that he faced everyone in the

gathering. When Huzoor (SAW)

got up from any gathering, he

would say this dua:

“Your purity do I declare O Allah

with Your praise, I bear witness

that there is none worthy of

worship besides You, I beg

forgiveness of You and repent to

You.”

CARE OF THE

NEWBORN

A newborn spends most time sleeping, waking up to

drink for a few minutes, looks around, & then drifts back

to sleep. The mother makes sure the baby is clean, wellfed,

loved & protected. Like other mammals, human

mothers have breasts to feed their babies. Breastmilk is

the perfect food for human babies, the only food they

need for about the rst six months of life. Sometimes, for

some reason a mother cannot feed her baby her own

milk. She may give the baby cows’ or goats’ milk or a

special formula in a bottle. In the days of the Prophet

(SAW), the mothers in Makkah did not keep their babies

with them in the city, as many children died of diseases.

Instead, they trusted them in the care of country women,

who would raise them in the healthy desert air until they

were strong. These women usually had just given birth,

having extra milk, able to feed the city babies. They were

called milk mothers, or wet-nurses. They still exist in

some countries. According to Islam, a milk mother is like

a second mother, to be respected, her children

considered the ‘milk brothers and sisters’ of the baby that

she took care of. They cannot marry, even though they

aren’t blood relatives. Newborns are helpless, unable to

do anything for themselves. They can’t walk, talk, or even

sit up alone. One of the only ways they communicate is

by crying. They like to be rocked and sung to sleep. It is

also good to recite Quran to them.

Caring For Children Is Everybody’s Business

STAFF APPRECIATION

NAEEMA MEYER

In the heart of our orphanage, there exists a guiding light

of practicality, empathy, and kindness; none other than

Naeema Meyer. As we celebrate her birthday, it's only

tting to honor her remarkable contributions as our

Director. She embodies the essence of leadership by

example, effortlessly weaving humor into her

interactions while inspiring those around her. Her broad

shoulders carry not only the weight of responsibility but

also the hopes and dreams of every child under our care.

What sets her apart is her unwavering commitment to

going above and beyond the call of duty. Whether it's

lending an ear to a troubled soul or rolling up her sleeves

to tackle challenges head-on, she epitomizes reliability

and dependability. It's not just her practicality and

empathy that make her exceptional, it's her unyielding

fairness and integrity. She is the epitome of good morals,

treating everyone with respect and dignity regardless of

their background or circumstances. In the face of

adversity, she stands as a beacon of courage, fearlessly

navigating through storms and uncertainties to ensure

the well-being of our orphanage family. Her resilience

and determination inspire us all to strive for greater

heights. So, as we celebrate her birthday, let us extend

our heartfelt gratitude for her invaluable contributions.

May her light continue to shine bright, guiding us

towards a future lled with hope, compassion, and

boundless possibilities Insha-Allah Ameen. Happy

Birthday, Naeema, you are truly someone we can always

count on.

MENSTRUATION

A GIRL’S FIRST STEP

TO WOMANHOOD

About two years after a girl begins her growth spurt, she

begins to menstruate. Another name for this is the

monthly period, or simply the ‘period’. For about 3 to 7

days every month, a small amount of blood is released

from her vagina, which is a sign that she is becoming

physically ready to have children.

This bleeding does not hurt and it does not mean that

anything is wrong with her; it is nature taking its course.

The blood is actually the thin, inner lining of the uterus.

When a girl reaches the age of about 11 to 13, her body

starts to ripen one egg each month and prepares a

blood-rich lining - a kind of nest for a baby to grow in.

Without sperm, the egg cannot grow and the lining

becomes old, so the body gets rid of it through

menstruation. About every 27 to 30 days, this process

starts all over again.

The rst time a girl menstruates is an important event in

her life. It means that she has reached puberty and is

ofcially a young woman. From that moment on and for

the rest of her life, she is responsible for all of her

religious obligations just like any muslim woman, such

as fasting, praying and covering herself properly in front

of strangers. She has taken her rst step on the special

path of womanhood.

About half of all girls and women experience some

discomfort during menstruation: they may have cramps,

feel tired, or be a little irritable. Allah has excused

women from fasting during Ramadaan on the days that

they are menstruating, but they must make up the

missed days of fasting when Ramadaan is over. Also, it is

not permissible for women to say their prayers (salah), sit

in a mosque or touch the Quran while they are

menstruating, because a person must be in a state of

ritual purity in order to do those things. The prayers do

not need to be made up later. When a woman has

nished menstruating, she takes a shower or bath (ghusl)

in order to purify herself for prayer. You may have noticed

your mother or older sister does not join in the prayer for

a few days every month; this is the reason why. You may

also have wondered about those commercials on

television for feminine pads and tampons. Those

products are designed to catch the blood from

menstruation so that one’s underwear and clothing stay

clean.

SURAH

KAHF

To be read every Jumu’a; either

during the eve (Thursday night) or

the day of Jumu’a (Friday).

Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) reports that

Rasulullah (SAW) said the person

who reads Surah Kahf on the eve

of Jumu’a , a noor is illuminated

between him, and the Kaaba

(Daarimi).

In another narration, it has come

that the person who reads Surah

Kahf as it was revealed (i.e

correctly), then between his place

and Makkah, a shining light is

created for him.

Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) reports that

Rasulullah (SAW) said, “The person

who reads Surah Kahf on the Day

of Jumu’a, Allah will create a Noor

for him (which will remain with

him) between the 2 Jumu’as.”

It shall become a Noor for the

reciter which shall stretch from the

earth up to the Heavens.

On the day of Qiyaamah, this

Surah will be a shining Light for its

reader.

All the minor sins committed since

the previous Friday are forgiven.

One shall be protected from all

tna’s (trials) for eight days.

The person who always reads the

last 10 ayaats of Surah Kahf, will

be protected from Dajjaal, if he

appears during his lifetime. In

another narration, the person who

memorised the rst 10 Ayaats of

Surah Kahf will be saved from the

evils of Dajjaal. In yet another

narration, it appears the person

who reads the rst 3 Ayaats will

also be saved from the evils of

Dajjaal.

I t h a s c o m e i n “ N a q s h - e -

Sulaimani”, if a person is in heavy

debts; one should recite Surah

Kahf thrice on Friday.

Insha-Allah, one will get rid of the

burden of debt.

In short, this Surah is abundant

Noor for its reciter on the Day of

Jumu’a, til the next Jumu’a and on

the Day of Qiyaamah.

Insha-Allah, we should grasp this

Noor by regularly reciting it on

Fridays.

THE OBJECT OF ZAKAAH

It must not be misunderstood that

because Islam has a compulsory

ritual of charity, therefore, poverty

must be maintained. In fact, the

object of Zakaah is to eliminate

poverty completely. We know that

every government must build

institutions to cure the physically or

mentally sick, and its object is to

p r e v e n t a n d r e m o v e t h e s e

disabilities. It does not mean that

because these institutions exist,

therefore sicknesses must be forced

onto people to ll these up. Likewise,

the Institution of Zakaah is a means to

remove poverty and want, and to

bring about economic equality

between man and man. When this

goal is achieved, the question of the

giver and the taker will not arise. The

chances of a person remaining

wealthy forever is equally nil, for

when the owner of wealth dies, his

wealth is fragmented by the Islamic

Law of Inheritance as more begin to

share in it. Surah Hash’r, verse 7 also

points out that Zakaah must be

practiced “in order that it (wealth)

may not (merely) make a circuit

between the wealthy...” Therefore,

idle wealth will have to be put into

active use for it to increase, otherwise

the capital sum will eventually vanish

through annual payment of Zakaah.

Besides, hoarders are threatened

with a “most grievous penalty” and

terrifying consequences in Surah

Taubah, verse 34.

TRIBUTE TO THE

LATE HADJIE EBRAHIM

KAMALDIEN (LOWIE)

In loving memory of the late beloved

Hadjie Ebrahim Kamaldien, born on

May 10, 1939, in Athlone. His journey

as a builder began when he stepped

in to support his family due to his

father's illness. Despite facing

adversity, he remained resilient,

taking on the responsibility of raising

his ve children after the passing of

his rst wife, Rabia Kamaldien. His

remarriage to Khairoo Kamaldien

marked a chapter of love and

companionship that lasted for two

decades until his recent passing in

April this year.

H a d j i e E b r a h i m K a m a l d i e n

dedication extended beyond his

family, as he served as the Billal and

contributed signicantly to the St

Athans Road Musjid community. Even

after retiring ten years ago, he

continued to offer his wisdom as an

advisor to the committee and

remained an active member of the

Red Crescent Moulood Jamaah.

His son and nephew cherishes

memories of his father's/uncles

unwavering guidance towards living

a d e v o u t a n d d i l i g e n t l i f e ,

emphasizing the importance of faith

and integrity. Murhoom Hadjie

Ebrahim Kamaldien's work ethic was

e x e m p l a r y, a l w a y s v a l u i n g

punctuality and hard work.

At the Vision Child and Youth Care

C e n t r e , h i s p r e s e n c e w a s

transformative. Leading staff and

children in Salaah, conducting

Islamic classes, and teaching the

ritual of ghusl to the residents

showcased his commitment to

nurturing spiritual growth and

imparting invaluable life lessons. His

genuine humility and dedication left

an indelible mark on all those he

encountered.

F o n d l y r e m e m b e r e d f o r h i s

endearing habit of mixing up names

and creating laughter among the

children, Hadjie Ebrahim Kamaldien's

impact was profound. His funeral,

reminiscent of a king's procession,

attested to the countless lives he

touched and the love our fellow

humans had for him. Though he may

no longer be with us, his legacy of

kindness, generosity, and devotion to

his faith will endure. May the

Almighty grant him the highest place

in Jannah, Insha-Allah. Ameen.

QUESTIONS

& ANSWERS

Q - What is the health benet of

fasting?

A - Fasting is prescribed in the Holy

Quran where Allah (SWT) says:

“O you who believe with hearts

impressed with the image of

religious and spiritual virtues, the

prescribed rule of fasting is

decreed for you to observe as it

was observed by those who came

before you in time, so that you may

entertain the profound reverence

due to and Him lift to Him your

inward sight.” Surah 2 verse 183.

In the hadeeth the Prophet (SAW)

says: “Fasting is protection”

The fast has various and numerous

objectives as regards the spiritual

benets of fasting; we therefore

refer to what Allah (SWT) says in

the Holy Quran: “And if you can

fast, it prots you, if only you

know.” Surah 2 verse 184

The health benets of fast can be

summarized as follows: The fast is

the most modern procedure in the

medical eld for the health of

mankind.

Mental Health: The one who fasts

is mentally in a state of tranquillity

and is pleased with what he is

doing because he is performing

ibaadah. The Nabi (SAW) advised

us to abstain from eat and drink to

suppress our desires. For this

reason, the one who fasts keeps as

f a r a s p o s s i b l e a w a y f r o m

committing sins and as a result, he

is mentally well balanced, has

peace of mind and experiences a

feeling of tranquillity. It is well

known that the digestive system

works all day and sometimes at

night. So fasting for one month per

year gives the internal system a

c h a n c e t o r e s t a n d r e n e w

damaged cells. This will enable the

digestive system to function at its

best for the rest of the year. Many

s i c k n e s s e s ( d i a b e t e s ,

hypertension, gout etc.) are the

result of eating too many varieties

of food at the same time in

addition to some other causes.

Fasting teaches the suppression of

greed, so the muslim becomes

used to controlling their cravings.

Through Hard Work And Dedication, One Can Excel Against All Odds

FIRST AID FOR

THE FAMILY

The weather outside is frightful; you’re inside, with

family, friends, and their germs. So is there anything you

can do to avoid getting sick?

Pelargonium: This herb has long been used in South

African traditional medicine to treat coughs and

respiratory ailments. Tests in Europe show it may be

especially useful against sore throats and bronchitis. In a

2003 study, three out of four children with sore throats

who were given the supplement, experienced rapid

recovery, compared with only one in three offered a

sugar pill. Recent ndings suggest pelargonium may

speed up the motion of cilia, the tiny hair-like structures

in your nasal passages and lungs that capture and eject

invading bugs. It’s worth a try for bronchitis and sore

throats. Take it after the rst sign of a cold and for 2 days

after symptoms subside.

Probiotics: These friendly bacteria that turn milk into

yoghurt can keep your defences in top form. Upwards of

70% of the immune cells that produce antibodies live in

the lining of your digestive tract. Keeping them in peak

shape may help you battle colds and u. In a recent

study, German researchers gave 479 volunteers vitamin

supplements either with or without probiotics. Those who

took the probiotics for at least 3 months reduced the

duration of their colds by almost 2 days and the severity

of symptoms by about 20%. It’s worth a try for boosting

immunity . Ask for brands that say “live and active

Vitamin C: Most evidence shows vitamin C doesn’t

prevent colds, but some studies show that if you take

vitamin C at the rst sign of a cold, it may shorten the

duration by about a day. Take 400mg at the rst sign of a

cold.

Zinc: Cold viruses gain a foothold in the nose by latching

onto uniquely shaped molecules called ICAM-1. Zinc

binds to the same molecules, which should help prevent

cold viruses from attaching. a 2003 study at the

Cleveland Clinic found that zinc nasal spray shortened

the duration of cold symptoms from 6 days to 4. Zinc

lozenges can deaden your sense of taste. It’s worth a try

for easing cold symptoms and it may also block cold

viruses. Start using within 24 hours of the rst sign of a

cold and follow package directions.

The greatest pain in life, is not to die, but

to be forgotten.

To be left in the dust after another’s great

achievement.

To never get a call from a parent, just

saying “hi”.

When you show someone your innermost

thoughts and they laugh in your face.

For parents to always too be busy to

console you when you need someone to

lift your spirits.

When it seems like the only person who

cares about you, is you.

Life is too short to start your day with

broken pieces of yesterday, it will

denitely destroy your wonderful today

and ruin a great tomorrow.

MAAF, A BIG WORD

TO USE, A SMALL

WORD TO SPELL

I am a 16 year old high school student and in desperate

need of love and care. Three years ago I was abandoned

by my parents due to me falling pregnant while at school.

None of my family are keen to lend a helping hand

during these desperate times. I have tried on many

occasions to ask maaf for my actions, but each time the

conversation becomes unbearable, ending in a big ght.

The entire family is defensive. Very often they strike out

by insulting, judging, criticising and making me feel like

I’m the worst person under the sun. My dad never

addresses me decently, always starting by yelling and

expressing anger. My mom, on the other hand, point

blank refuses to listen to me, nothing gets resolved. Her

and my older sister have this passive-aggressive attitude.

Nothing she says is direct, talking to her is like walking

on a tightrope. Life for me has very much become

awkward and embarrassing, so my last resort is to write

this letter to the Vision Advertiser, declaring my sincere

apologies and a big maaf. I have learnt a huge lesson

after a huge mistake. I love my family, I have hurt my

family and I owe you a mighty lot, so I beg for maaf.

Please accept my maaf.

LANDMARKS AND ZIYAARAH

PLACES OF MAKKAH

HIJ’R ISMAAEEL - Hij’r Ismaaeel is the half circle that is

attached to the Ka’abah. It was part of the Ka’abah when

Nabi Ibraheem (AS) built it. When the Ka’abah was

rebuilt in the time of Quraysh, just before Islam, they did

not have enough lawful funds to rebuild it, thus they built

it as it is today and leaving that part open and encircled it

with a wall. This area is known as the Hij’r Ismaaeel. It is

sunnah to perform therein optional prayers, especially

the two raka’aat of Towaaf. It is narrated that the salaah

performed in Hij’r Ismaaeel is as good as the salaah

performed inside the Ka’abah. According to some

historians, Nabi Ismaeel (AS) and his mother Haajirah

(May Allah be pleased with her) are buried there.

AL-MI’JAN - MOSOL’LAA JIBREEL - This is an open long

four corner hole at the entrance of Hij’r Ismaaeel on the

side of the door of the Ka’abah. It was big enough for two

people to perform salaah therein. There are narrations

that say that Jib’reel (AS) after the night of Mi’raaj taught

the Prophet (SAW) how to perform the salaah and its

various times. There are also sayings that say it is the

place where the clay was mixed when the Ka’abah was

built in the time of Nabi Ibraheem (AS). This hole is no

more to be seen, it was lled up and covered with marble

in the seventies when the area of the Matauf was

enlarged.

THE MEEZAAB - THE WATERSPOUT - The Meezaab is the

golden spout that was placed on the roof of the Ka’abah

on the side of Hij’r Ismaaeel in order that the rain water

that falls on the roof can be diverted away from the roof

through the spout. Many authorities/government have

replaced the Meezaab/spout with a better one. The

present Meezaab was presented to the Ka’abah by

Sultan Abdul-Majeed of Turkey and it was manufactured

in Turkey. It is made of gold and weighs about 20kgs.

There are sayings that it is recommended to stand under

the Meezaab and that the prayers are answered there.

BAAB BANEE SHAYBAH - Also called Baabus-Salaam,

Baab Banee Shaybah was the original entrance of the

Haram. This was the entrance through which the Prophet

(SAW) came when he entered the Haram. This entrance

was afterwards made in a form of an arch behind

Maquam Ibraaheem and next to the well of Zamzam.

Today this arch is not there, but a black line on the

ground indicates the place of Baab Banee Shaybah. It is

sunnah to go through this entrance when a person is

going for his rst Towaaf.

Caring For Children Is As Much Your Responsibility As It Is Ours

GETTING OLD

When we are young we just want to laugh, run and play

When hearing about a teenage ‘do’, we go without delay

Happy occasions, jollications, we often turn night into day

Most times not interested in what parents have to say

Ever having good times, being happy, jolly and gay

Seldom as muslims, we hardly have time to pray

When the Athaan goes, we simply turn the other way

Thinking as long as the sun shines we must make hay

Little we know some day there is going to be a price to pay

When we realise our bodies are steadily starting to decay

Soon we discover how life is starting to unfold

With aching bodies we realise we are getting old

No longer are we strong, powerful and bold

Often we feel no warmth, but miserably cold

Shaking, shivering, a tea-cup we struggle to hold

To reverse the situation we are prepared to pay in gold

This story I am sure we do not want it to be told

Yes, I am sharing this with you teenagers, Lo! And behold.

I had a wonderful Ramadaan, my

best ever. I was never so Godconscious

as during this past

Ramadaan. An important aspect of

Islam is that every human being

has the free will to choose between

right and wrong. Allah, The Giver,

has honoured humanity with this

great gift. So the last ten days of

Ramadaan I was in Itikaaf and I

instructed my wife to pay our yearly

alms (zakaah). She arrived at

Vision Child and Youth Care

Centre, a children’s home that is

close to our hearts and was totally

shocked to nd another Vision

supporter in a huge argument

about parking with a Vision

neighbour. At the time my wife

arrived at Vision, she found 4 cars

and a milk truck. Take into

consideration that Vision has no

parking bays on their corner plot.

My wife stood around for 10

minutes, hoping someone would

pull out, but drivers of all the other

cars stood in shock at what these

ugly words were about. A Vision

staff member arrived on the scene

and tried to explain that no one is

obstructing her driveway or

causing a hold up of trafc. She

eventually phoned the City Trafc

Department, who instructed the

vehicles to park elsewhere in the

area. My wife left the scene and we

paid our dues via EFT. We also

called Vision to collect some Iftar

goodies in order to avoid further

confrontations with neighbours.

My wife had our 3 children in the

car with the prime objective for

them to meet with the Vision

r e s i d e n t s . T h i s s h o c k i n g

experience left her devastated and

our kids very disappointed. We

pray Almighty Allah grants us

spiritual sustenance to nourish our

hearts and souls, which will enrich

our lives, Ameen.

HOW MY PARENTS MET

I would like to express my heartfelt, deep and sincere gratitude to Vision Child

and Youth Care Centre for their sterling work and valuable sacrice, it spurred

me on to write this article on how my parents met. Both my parents were 13

years old when they met at madressa. In those days, madressa had 100

learners in a class. It was controlled by one mualim. In turn he used the more

advanced learners to assist him with Islamic teachings. My mom was the

mualim’s favourite, so he used her with a few others the most. my dad was one

of those struggling, so mom became his responsibility for a long time. The two

grew very attached. By now they were in high school, still at the same

madressa. Dad, at the time developed quickly in his Islamic studies, becoming

akin to an assistant to the mualim. By now the primary school sweethearts were

more advanced, and at age 24 they decided to settle down. Our mom and dad

are happily married and today boast with two sets of twins, two boys and two

girls. May Allah spare our parents and grant them the best in this world and in

the Hereafter.

At Vision Personal Sacrifice Is The Ultimate Gift

YOW-MIL-AAKHIR, THE LAST DAY

YOW-MIL-QIYAMAH, DAY

OF RESSURRECTION

YOW-MIL-HISAAB, DAY OF RECKONING

We know that the world and our body

is a temporary abode. Everything will

end one day, except Allah, Who is

forever. We all must die. Our physical

form must perish. But we will be

raised to life again by the Creator.

And nothing is impossible for Him.

For, did He not create us from

“nothing”? Allah declares in the Holy

Quran: “And surely, Allah shall raise

those that are in the graves.”

The day on which we will be raised is

called YOW-MIL-QIYAMAH, the Day

of Resurrection.

A muslim must believe in YOW-MIL-

QIYAMAH. It is an essential part of his

Imaan, his Faith. He cannot be a true

muslim without this belief. This belief

acts as a restraint upon us. It makes us

conscious all the time that we are

answerable to a Higher Authority. All

our secret deeds are known to Him,

and we will have to face the results of

our doings.

We know that terms such as

Reckoning, Judgement, Reward,

Punishment, Gains, Losses, Success,

Failure are part of our lives. There is a

reward for those who strive and there

is failure for those who are lazy. It

even starts from the kindergarten

classes. A child studies throughout

the year and faces a day of

examination, to discover his reward if

he has done well or bad. A worker

who earns his wage by piece-work

gains the additional fruit of his hard

work, or very little if he has been lazy.

The time of reckoning is there,

nevertheless.

The businessman sets a stock-taking

day to assess his year’s activity. Gains

or losses, he will know. Allah has set a

day of Reckoning for us, to take stock

of our deeds in life. He will grant us

the fruit we deserve, bitter or sweet.

H a v e w e d o n e g o o d a s H e

commanded or have we committed

evil against His wish? Our records will

answer.

On the Last Day, YOW-MIL-AAKHIR,

the whole universe, everybody and

everything, will be violently shattered.

Thereafter, we will be judged, our

good and bad will be compared,

rewards and punishment meted out.

So, while the Almighty has blessed us

with life, we must strive for the good

and resent evil, and look forward to

the YOW-MIL-HISAAB, Day of

Reckoning, when our good will bring

us enduring happiness and, above

all, the bounteous opportunity of

meeting the Almighty Allah.

Allah Almighty, forewarns those who

commit evil and reject Faith:

“And the doom will be doubled for

him on the Day of Resurrection and

he will abide therein humiliated

forever.” (Surah 25, verse 69)

Vision Provides Hope For Children Affected By Trauma And Abuse

THE SUNNAH OF

HUZOOR (SAW) IN

VISITING THE SICK

When Huzoor (SAW) went to visit someone who was sick,

he would put his hand on his forehead and feel his pulse.

He would ask the sick person if there was anything they

would like to eat. If they asked for something, Huzoor

(SAW) would ask someone to bring that thing, and said

that whatever a sick person asks for, give it to him. When

Huzoor (SAW) sat with a sick person, he would comfort

him and make dua for his health saying: “Do not worry it

is a cleansing (from sins).” Huzoor (SAW) would place his

hand on the forehead of the sick person or on the part of

the body that would hurt and say: “O Allah, take away

this distress, Lord of mankind, heal him. You are the only

healer. There is no healing, except Your healing, the

healing that leaves behind no sickness.” Huzoor (SAW)

would sit at the head of the sick person’s bed and ask:

“How are you feeling?”

AWESOME

QURAN FACTS:

PROPHET

MUHAMMAD (SAW)

Visit Our Website At www.visionchild.org.za

1. GOD CHOOSES

HIM HIM AS AS PROPHET

The Prophet’s (SAW) marriage to

Khadijah (RA) meant now leading

a comfortable life. But soon,

renouncing all worldliness, he

began searching for the truth.

Alone for days in the Cave of Hira,

he would ask God such questions

as: What is man’s true role in life?

From where does man come, and

where will he go after death? The

Archangel Jibril appeared, and

taught him the rst verses of the

Quran. Taken aback and feeling

unwell, he rushed to Khadijah

(RA), who comforted him. She took

him to her cousin, Waraqah, who

reassured the Prophet that his

experience had been genuine.

2. INFANCY

The Prophet (SAW), shaken by his

rst experience of revelation, came

to accept his role as Allah’s

Messenger only with Khadijah’s

help. Khadijah was his rst

convert, next his cousin, Ali and the

third, his foster son Zayd. The rst

unrelated convert was Abu Bakr,

who became the Prophet’s closest

Companion. At rst the Prophet

taught Khadijah and a small group

of friends how to pray, and they

would pray together. Three years

later, Jibril commanded him to

speak openly, and he did so at

public meetings. Slowly the

message of Allah began to spread.

3. CALL TO ISLAM

After three years of secrecy, the

Prophet (SAW) started preaching

publicly, with little success. The

Quraysh tried to dissuade him

from preaching, to stop the

message from spreading. So the

Prophet was subjected to every

kind of persecution. Thorns were

strewn in his path, stones thrown at

his house, and rubbish pelted at

him. He was laughed at and

ridiculed. Once, when he was

praying in the Kabah, a sheet was

thrown around his neck and pulled

so violently that he fell on his face.

His companions too, faced all

kinds of persecution.

At Vision We Are Caregivers To Vulnerable Children

THE SUNNAH OF HUZOOR

SALLALLAHU ALAYHI

WASALLAM IN MEETINGS

AND GATHERINGS

When holding gatherings for Tableegh (preaching) &

Taleem (instruction), Huzoor Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam

used to allow intervals so that people do not become

tired. If he wanted to honour someone in his majlis

(gathering), he would spread out his shawl for him to sit

on. If he was sitting in the company of other people, he

would not interrupt the ow of their conversation, to put

forward what was in his mind, but to let them nish what

they were saying. If he joined a gathering & someone

stood up out of respect for him, he didn’t approve of this.

Therefore, when the Sahaba Kiraam Radhiallahu Anhum

came to understand this, no one would stand up when he

came. When he joined a gathering, he would take his

place behind those already seated. He would not try to

go towards the centre of the gathering. If he was sitting in

the company of the Sahaba Radhiallahu Anhum, and

had to go to his home, and did not intend to return, then

he would put on his shoes and go. If he intended to come

back, then as a sign of this he would leave his shoes

behind and go barefoot to the house. When he was

sitting in the company of the Sahaba Radhiallahu

Anhum, he would make sure not to sit with his knees in

front of his companions, to avoid creating distinction.

Whatever the Sahaba Radhiallahu Anhum were talking

about in a gathering, he would join in their converation.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

In a heavy based pot on a low heat, bring your soft

butter and boiling water to a slow boil.

Add in your our and stir until a smooth, soft ball of

dough is formed.

Remove the dough from the pot and transfer to a glass

bowl, spreading it out across the bowl, allowing it to

cool for 5 minutes.

With an electric whisk, add your eggs one at a time,

whisking after each addition.

After adding your second egg, it should look like a

semi thick paste.

Transfer your eclair dough to a piping bag and pipe

your eclair rounds on a baking tray, lined with baking

paper. (I use a Macaron mat)

Pipe 12 equal golf ball sized rounds, leaving equal

space around each round.

Bake on 200 degrees, on the lower rack for 15

minutes, then reduce the heat to 180degrees and

bake for a further 15-20 minutes, until your eclair is

golden brown.

Once golden, turn the oven off but leave the door

open and allow the eclairs to cool for at least a half

hour.

Once cooled, ll fresh cream, top with melted

chocolate and grate some milky bar.
