For O’Brien County Supervisor District One
As a youth I attended K-12 at the Sanborn Community School,
during these years I was a member of the Center Farmers
4-H Club where I met many long-time friends. I also spent the
majority of my teaching career at HMS High School. As a high
school social studies teacher, I encouraged my students to be
involved in government in many ways. There is no substitute
for a participatory democracy, so by becoming a candidate and
supervisor, I intend to practice what I have encouraged
students to do.
I feel strongly that my unique background in understanding
education, school financing, agriculture/ag-business, property tax
issues, alternative/wind energy and conservation as well as being
very familiar with a number of the communities, individuals and
issues within the county makes me an excellent choice for the
O’Brien County Board of Supervisors. I will be a supervisor who
will listen to constituents and strongly consider ideas other than
my own. I believe that fiscal responsibility and accountability to
the citizens of the county is priority Number One. In addition, I am
a strong supporter of open meetings protocol and believe that all
public boards need to conduct their proceedings in public.

Basic Description
Sunshine Foods is growing and
now hiring a meat cutter at our Rock
Valley Store. No meat cutting experience required,
we will help you learn the skills you need to cut meat and
raits of the meat department. Some food service or retail experience
would be good, but not necessary. Looking for that someone who is energetic,
detail-oriented, and enjoys making decisions. If you’re looking for that career change or want to
learn a new skill this may be the perfect job for you.
Major Responsibilities
1. Prepares cut list for the day and cuts merchandise, grinds and
tenderizes meats.
2. Package, wrap, weigh and label product.
3. Reviews the status and appearance of the food for freshness and
stocks/rotates product.
4. Help assist in ordering and the pricing of the meat department.
5. Monitors refrigeration for proper temperatures.
6. Cleans meat room and meat equipment.
7. Assist customers in needs and special orders.
8. Assists in other areas of the store as needed.
Working Conditions
This is a fast-paced working environment. You will be on your feet for long periods of time, and
be expected to lift up to 50 lbs. You will be exposed to cooler environment, cleaning solvents and
frequent noise from saws and grinders running.

Sunshine Foods offers a family atmosphere with the ability to take ownership of this position at
a corporate level without the corporate micro-managers. You will essentially be your own boss
with help and trust from our “TEAM”! Having several stores to gain knowledge and help in areas
where help is needed gives you a great network of resources and experience in order to succeed
and build lasting relationships in a satisfying career.

• This position would be full time; 37-45 hours per week. Daytime
