More people than ever are enjoying the <strong>UK</strong>’s 200 year-old canal network. According to British Waterways last year<br />
the number of adults visiting an inland waterway topped 13 million, illustrating a turnaround in fortunes which has<br />
seen canal restorations grow the network by 10 per cent and the number of canal boats increase by over 40 per<br />
cent since the turn of the century.<br />
By taking a canal holiday you are helping to keep the local<br />
economy afloat. A total of £11 /2 billion is spent by visitors to the<br />
waterways each year on goods and services, supporting 54,000<br />
jobs. All of our boats are built in the <strong>UK</strong> by our own craftsmen<br />
and we employ around 200 people throughout our business.<br />
We also actively support businesses local to our marinas and<br />
contribute to local charity requests from our employees.<br />
<strong>2011</strong> should see the opening of the Mid Worcestershire mini-ring which you can<br />
experience by booking a holiday from Worcester Marina.<br />
We also have a new start location for <strong>2011</strong>, Blackwater Meadow Marina located in the beautiful market town of Ellesmere in Shropshire<br />
allowing you to cruise over the Pontycysllte aqueduct in just a weekend break.<br />
