IPS Securex has recently
completed the delivery of three
Mobile and three Portal VACIS ®
gamma ray scanners to Indonesia
Customs. These units are located
in Jakarta and Surabuya sea ports
and complement the existing Portal
VACIS system already installed in
Batam under an earlier contract.
All six units were delivered
within six months of the contract
signature. The units have already
successfully prevented numerous
smuggling attempts.
Indonesia Customs is one of the most experienced users of
vehicle and cargo inspection systems in South East Asia,
having previously purchased X-ray systems over 10 years
ago. We are especially happy with the confidence shown
in both IPS and the VACIS gamma ray product range that
we were selected as the successful vendor through an
open tender process.
In addition to the VACIS systems the contract included
the supply of radiation detection equipment, control room
and image analysis centres, installation, training and after
sales support.
There are now over 100 VACIS scanners in Asia and the
Middle East. Over 500 VACIS systems have been sold
worldwide making the VACIS product line the market
leader for similar performance.

TTS System and ICIS Upgrade
in Singapore
IPS Securex has completed
a major upgrade for the ICIS
Integrated Cargo Inspection
System in Singapore. The
upgrade included the supply of an
additional Portal VACIS, Radiation
Portal Monitor and enhanced
software features including
the IPS Securex TTS System
– a unique software capability
developed by IPS Securex to
assist image analysis.
VACIS scanners are non-intrusive
large cargo and vehicle inspection
scanners providing customers
with the ability to quickly, safely and effectively scan cargo at ports and border checkpoints.
VACIS systems have a low radiation dose per scan which makes it safe to operate. They are able to
scan high volumes of cargo without exposing drivers, operators or members of the public to high levels
of radiation. The VACIS software combined with the advanced TTS features enables image analysts to
quickly and easily locate anomalies in the images.
The high throughput that VACIS systems can achieve ensures that traffic flow is maintained at busy ports
and border crossings. Combined with their inherent reliability and the fast effective support provided by our
team of professional service engineers, VACIS systems are a well proven solution for cargo inspection.

The Broadband Discovery Systems’ SIFT-MGV2-001
Magnetic Sensor is a fully self-contained, long-range,
highly sensitive ferromagnetic detector. The system
utilizes low-power fluxgate magnetometer technology
in conjunction with Broadband’s proprietary processing
algorithm to detect the presence of ferrous materials
such as vehicles and weapons moving within its
detection range. Items can be detected at up to several
hundred metres.
Since the SIFT sensor depends on the presence
of ferrous material on an intruder or from a vehicle,
movement of animals or foliage swaying in the wind will not trigger the sensor. The SIFT sensor is thus
immune to the false alarms that plague conventional sensor technology.
The SIFT sensor is available in multiple configurations so it can be customized for specific locations
and applications. It can be configured to measure and track movement in three dimensions so that an
intruder’s direction and speed of movement can be identified.
The SIFT sensor is ideal for use in remote areas where it is impractical or expensive to deploy personnel
for surveillance duties. Data from the SIFT detector can be sent to a central monitoring and alert centre
via the integrated communications module using a GSM, WI-FI or wired communications network. Jungle
or forested areas have no impact on the effectiveness of the SIFT sensor and it can be concealed in the
foliage making the system covert.

Seeker CDU 220

The Seeker CDU 220 is a compact, light weight, highly portable, multilingual,
hand-held device for detecting trace levels of explosives and
narcotics.
The Seeker CDU 220 technology allows users to quickly identify the
presence of specific explosives and narcotics through the use of cutting
edge diagnostic swipe and vapour collection cards and the system’s
optical reading electronics. Armed with the test results, users can make
rapid and informed decisions on appropriate action. The Seeker has additional capabilities, such as
GPS mapping of results, Bluetooth data transfer and custom PC report generation with minimal training
required.
Unlike other portable detection technologies that weigh in excess of 3 Kgs, the Seeker is a truly portable
hand held device weighing less than 500 grams. It is totally unaffected by changes in temperature and
humidity and is available for use immediately with no warm-up time or calibration procedure. The Seeker
is easy to use and maintain and requires no messy reagents which require controlled disposal.
The Seeker CDU 220 is used by law enforcement officers, explosives technicians, military personnel, and
first responders from around the globe. The Seeker provides them with a simple to use device that works
in the real world.
