Acknowledgement
I am grateful to the chairman Governing Body and the Director of the G.B. Pant Institute
of Himalayan Environment and Development for bestowing me this honour and giving
me an opportunity for ventilating my feelings.
The talented and great son of India Govind Ballabh pant would have had he been
alive, exhorted scientists and scholars of all disciplines to strive together in unision -
rather than in compartments – to make the Himalaya a paradise once again.
