Easy-cleaning 

features 

Internal flush-fitting hinges: 

There are no corners or edges in the surface of the glass, 

and so dirt simply cannot find anywhere to accumulate. 

Wall profiles have concealed fixings: 

Elegant appearance, and the smallest possible surface 

area for limescale and dirt to attack. 

Stylish magnetic sealing strips: 

Large sealing strips furring up and turning yellow are now 

a thing of the past. 

Frameless products: 

These have no profiles in which dirt or mildew can accumulate. 

Safety glass When manufacturing safety glass versions of our products, we use exclusively 

single-pane safety glass. We can supply safety glass of 4 mm and 6 mm depending 

on the product range.

PRODUCT FEATURES 

What is single-pane safety glass (ESG)? 

ESG is normal flat glass which is first heat-treated at 670º and then shock-cooled 

using air under high pressure. Properties of single-pane safety glass: if it breaks, it 

forms blunt-edged fragments of glass which virtually eliminate any danger of injury. 

Advantages of single-pane safety glass: 

• Increased resistance to temperature changes. 

• Increased impact resistance. 

• Increased resistance to bending fractures. 

• Minimal risk of injury, because if the glass breaks it forms only blunt-edged 

fragments. 

• Glass is a material with an extremely long service life. 

• Glass is hygienic and easy to clean. 

• Its own weight improves the closing action (not subject to torsion). 

Note: Stress on the edges and contact with sharp objects should be avoided.

PRODUCT FEATURES 

What kinds of small parts go into making a shower enclosure? 

These are all ball bearings and encapsulated in brass. The ball-bearing rollers are 

durable and make the moving of door elements easy and silent. While in other 

products, these rollers are made from plastic, which makes moving of door elements 

difficult and leads to breakage of the rollers quite often. 

Hinges are made from zinc/die cast or brass. The mechanism of these hinges is such 

that the door opens in a slanting angle (not visible by the naked eye) that increases 

the gap between the floor and the door, which means that the door opens easy and 

closes watertight. In addition the impact on the PVC sealing is less, thus lifetime of 

the sealing is much longer. 

Made from stainless steel because this material does not rust. 

The profiles are made of aluminium and first cut to size and then chrome plated/ 

anodized/powder coated. Due to this process even the edges of these profiles have 

protection against corrosion in damp air and water. 

These are produced using an injection moulding process and are dyed. These include 

pivot bearings and roller holders, corner connections etc. 

These are produced from a variety of materials depending on the product series, 

e.g. zinc/die cast - plastic. 

These are largely made from PVC (poly-vinyl chloride) and are used both with and 

without magnetic strips. The seals also include glazing rubbers and splash protection. 

A shower enclosure is not an aquarium. How well sealed a shower enclosure is depends on 

the design of the static elements, the profiles or wall brackets that are attached to the wall or 

shower tray. Jaquar-Breuer shower enclosures are therefore split into three sealing categories 

(1-3), though we hasten to add that each category provides perfectly adequate splash protection.
