4 Learning outside the classroom Learning for life - The importance of outdoor education has never been recognised more. The variety of Government initiatives such as the “Learning outside the Classroom” manifesto, Quality Badge Scheme and “Every Child Matters” reinforce the significance of good quality outdoor experiences in the life of every child. Acorn is fully involved with and supports these initiatives; our adventure camps extend learning beyond the classroom, offering enrichment opportunities and helping young people develop new interests, new skills and new confidence in themselves and what they can achieve. “We believe that every young person should experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential part of learning and personal development, whatever their age, ability or circumstances.” “Learning Outside The Classroom” Manifesto Acorn and ‘Every Child Matters’ Learning outside the classroom provides a powerful route to the ‘Every Child Matters’ outcomes.
