War on fluke.
Ambush fluke before it attacks.
®
The only proven killer of 2 week old
early immature fluke in cattle.

Unmatched 1 potency against early immature fluke
combined with broad-spectrum parasite control.
Flukazole C plus Selenium is the only 2 product proven
by research to effectively control 2-week old fluke.
Trials 2 demonstrate no other product provides the
high level of control against early immature fluke.
Only Flukazole C plus Selenium carries an APVMA label
claim specifically for the control of 2-week old fluke 1 .

Superior Fluke Control.
Studies 2 have proven that Flukazole C plus Selenium stands alone
as the only product that can effectively control the damaging
2-week old early immature fluke.
The dual actives, oxfendazole and triclabendazole in Flukazole C
plus Selenium, work together to create a synergy that delivers
more potent killing of early immature fluke, especially the 2-week
old fluke.
What is synergy?
Synergy is where 1+1>2
That is, the sum of the parts combined is greater than the
individual components.
Flukazole C plus Selenium has proven efficacy over
pour-on fluke (triclabendazole + abamectin) drenches.
Two separate and independently run comparative
efficacy trials 2 have been recently undertaken.
In both studies Flukazole C plus Selenium
achieved ≥99% efficacy against 2 and 4 week
old stages of fluke.
The pour-on showed less than 8% efficacy on
2-week old stages in one study.
The pour-on group failed to demonstrate
effective control at 4 weeks in both studies.
Significant numbers of liver fluke survived
the pour-on treatment in both studies.
Flukazole C plus Selenium has proven 2 efficacy over
other oral drenches.
Multiple comparative efficacy studies 2 have been
undertaken trialing Flukazole C plus Selenium
against reference oral fluke products.
Flukazole C plus Selenium has always
demonstrated efficacy of 99% or greater against
all stages of fluke.
Only Flukazole C plus Selenium offers
synergistic dual active control of liver fluke
resulting in significantly better control of
the early immature stages of liver fluke.
Competitor oral drenches do not achieve
the same level of control of the early immature
stages of liver fluke.
Why is it important to control immature fluke as early
as 2 weeks?
Early immature fluke burrow through the gut and are chemically attracted
to the liver. They penetrate the liver capsule and migrate through the liver.
These migrating fluke cause:
Haemorrhage and blood loss Liver scarring
Protein loss Anaemia
Reduced appetite Loss of liver function
Loss of productivity Possible death
Abattoir surveys on cattle sourced from irrigation areas have shown
liver condemnation rates of 80% 4 .
Condemned livers attract penalties and are a
substantial cost to producers and processors.
Healthy / normal liver
Using Flukazole C plus Selenium will minimise liver scarring caused by early immature flukes 2 .
The scarring from immature fluke
is evident on this liver.

Treating for 1 & 2 week old liver
fluke pays.
This weight gain study 6 by independant parasitologist Dr Joe Boray shows the advantage in
removing early immature fluke. The group that had early immature fluke removed with a
treatment at 1-2 weeks after infection had the greatest weight gain.
The average body weight of this group was 13kg heavier than the group that only had mature
fluke removed.
13Kg = an additional $26 in liveweight value
A 200 kg calf can be treated for approximately $2.60 5 . If the calf then gains an additional
13kg liveweight as a result of the effective treatment, the farmer will receive an extra
$26 in liveweight value @ $2/kg.
Potent round worm control.
Flukazole C plus Selenium contains oxfendazole.
Oxfendazole is the newest and most potent active
in the benzimidazole group (BZ).
The BZ group of drenches are highly effective in
cattle. Unlike sheep, where there is a high level of
resistance to BZ’s, this is not the case with cattle.
Oxfendazole remains a safe and highly effective
drench active ingredient for cattle.
Flukazole C plus Selenium will control all
susceptible major gastro-intestinal mature
and immature round worm parasites in cattle.
Moniezia spp.

Easy application.
Flukazole C plus Selenium offers a ready to use
product for both worms and fluke. There is no need
for mixing and no requirement to buy separate
fluke and worm drenches. Flukazole C plus
Selenium has been tested 2 for drenchability at an
independent mechanics laboratory.
Flukazole C plus Selenium was easier to deliver
than two oral competitor products.
The same NJ Phillips drenching equipment was
used on all tests.
Data shown is at room temperature.
Lower meat withholdings and ESI than pour-on
triclabendazole products.
Pour-on triclabendazole based products can have very long export
slaughter intervals (ESI). The risk with using a product with a long withhold
is that the convenience of being able to sell cattle to export markets at
short notice is removed. Long meat withholdings can prevent farmers from
off-loading surplus stock in times of drought.
Flukazole C plus Selenium can be used in dairy cows
Shortest pre-calving usage interval of any triclabendazole based
fluke and worm control combination product on the market 7 .
Can be used up to 21 days prior to calving. Safe to use at dry off to
ensure no milk residues on re-entry to the lactating herd.
(At least 25% shorter pre-calving usage interval than other
combination products. 7 )
Flukazole C plus Selenium gives you an
extra 7 days grace for the cow to come back
into the milking herd.

With added selenium
Most of the high rainfall productive areas of Australia are selenium deficient.
In the higher rainfall areas where liver fluke are
present, nearly all areas are selenium deficient.
Flukazole C now contains selenium.
Selenium is a vital trace element, and plays an important
role in reproduction and the immune system.
Selenium supplementation has been linked to reduction
of mastitis. 8
Flukazole C plus Selenium does not have activity against external
parasites such as lice. Whilst other oral products may claim the
control of sucking lice, they do not control biting lice.
In order to effectively control all important species of lice in
cattle, Virbac recommends using STAMPEDE® Pour-On for Cattle
and Sheep. Stampede has a unique mode of action. It is an insect
growth regulator (IGR) that acts on the immature stages of the
lice, preventing their development.
Stampede is an easy to apply pour-on treatment and is safe to
use in conjunction with Flukazole C plus Selenium.
