What you need for your bubble wants<br />

• 2 dowels (we cut some 48" in half...so 24 " dowels worked for us.)<br />

• 1 metal washer<br />

• cotton string ( aka butcher's twine)<br />

• 2 eye hooks (make sure the cord/string will fit through)<br />

How to make the wand:<br />

• first, take the dowels and screw one eye hook into each of the wooden dowels.<br />

• second, cut your string. one will be 35 inches long, and the second string will<br />

be 70 inches long. this is for big bubbles, but you wouldn't have to have the<br />

string that long. just double what you cut the top string to be.<br />

• third, put the metal washer on the longest string.<br />

• next, tie both strings through the eye hook. tie the shortest string on top and<br />

the longest underneath.<br />

• finally, dip the string into the solution. keep the dowels together and bring it<br />

out of the solution. now, slowly open it up and walk backwards.<br />

What you need for your bubble solution<br />

• 6 cups water<br />

• 2 cups good quality dishwashing liquid<br />

• 3/4 cup light corn syrup or: stir in 5-6 drops of glycerin (you can buy this from<br />

the chemist)<br />

Mix all ingredients together in a large container of sorts...an empty water bottle,<br />

milk jug, etc. shake everything up and let sit for a few hours. pour into empty<br />

bubbles containers or dishes and go wild with your bubble wands!!<br />

if at first you don't succeed, try again. it's worth it!<br />

If you’re looking for something delicious for an<br />

afternoon treat, whip up these Milo Muffins!<br />

Milo Muffin Recipe<br />

There aren’t many kids who would refuse a Milo muffin for morning or<br />

afternoon tea – or even in their lunchbox.<br />

This is an extremely simple recipe using readily available pantry ingredients –<br />

great for a last minute treat or lunchbox stash.<br />

Ingredients<br />

• 1 1/2 cups self raising flour<br />

• 2/3 cup milo<br />

• 1 egg<br />

• 2/3 cup milk<br />

• 2/3 cup brown sugar<br />

• 1/2 tsp baking powder<br />

• 60g butter, softened<br />

Method<br />

1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees C.<br />

2. In a mixer or a bowl add all ingredients, then beat until smooth.<br />

3. Pour into muffin or cupcake papers until 3/4 full.<br />

4. Bake for 25-30 minutes.<br />

5. You may choose to make these as a quick lunchbox treat or a dessert -<br />

great warm with ice cream and chocolate sauce.
