Kronach. – Loewe is giving its latest show-stopping TV, the Loewe Reference ID, its
world premiere at IFA 2012. The exclusive flat-screen TV is a masterpiece of
craftsmanship, exclusive materials, and superlative personalisation potential which even
allows for unique one-offs. The German premium manufacturer will also be showcasing
such exclusive models in Berlin; models which have been created in collaboration with
the Italian piano manufacturer Fazioli, and Prince Alexander of Schaumburg-Lippe. Even
the user guide of the Loewe Reference ID affords superlative personalisation potential.
Personal favourites can be archived on the television’s home screen, making them
directly accessible – favourites such as TV channels, recordings on the hard disk
recorder, websites or files containing images and music saved on the home network.
A masterpiece. From the hands of master craftsmen
In the piano manufacturer Fazioli, Loewe has found a partner who also strives for
perfection. Fazioli produces a mere 110 to 120 instruments per year using only premium
materials such as the red spruce from the Fiemme Valley; the very same wood selected
for the crafting of Stradivarius violins which are famous the world over. All surfaces are
sanded and polished by hand with the utmost care and it goes without saying that each
and every grand piano is individually checked in the company sound lab and concert hall
– after all, it's all a question of tone.
And it is precisely this ethos that makes Fazioli the ultimate partner for the Loewe
Reference ID. Here too, the utmost care is taken to guarantee both the production and
sound quality of each and every Reference TV. Naturally, particular value is placed on
achieving a life-like, razor-sharp picture. In terms of technology, the Loewe Reference ID
is equal to anything that cutting-edge television technology has to offer – right through to
individualised access to the Internet and flawless networking. In short, a masterpiece –

one that has been lent an additional air of refinement by Fazioli, on the occasion of this
year’s IFA.
Noblesse oblige
The first customer for the Loewe Reference ID is already set: Prince Alexander of
Schaumburg-Lippe. He has ordered a Loewe Reference ID with his family coat of arms,
making him the first to realise his own personal expectations of elegant and unique home
entertainment. Various options were investigated in order to achieve a rendering of the
crest that was both qualitatively first-rate, and as individual as it could possibly be – from
brocade embroidery to appliqué leather and laser engraving. The result is a highly
individual one-off to underscore the individuality of its owner.
Exclusively yours
It looks and feels like a work of art. The Loewe Reference ID has not relinquished its
minimalist design and is equipped with an aluminium frame in Chrome, as well as black
speaker covers and a black rear panel. This basic version can, however, can be changed
by the customer according to their own individual equipment and design requirements.
For example, monochrome LED backlighting, which casts a soft corona of light around
the Loewe Reference ID, impressively showcases the TV as a part of the decor. Then
there’s the home entertainment system with various set-up options – supplemented by
the Loewe Reference ID speakers. Furthermore, the customer can also select the
appropriate colour for the aluminium frame, the speaker cover and the rear panel from
the given spectrum, and gain the opportunity to design their own individual Loewe
Reference ID. And finally, there is the possibility of ordering one-off items to fulfil entirely
personal requirements – including engraving, or requests for particular surfaces, for
example. Such exclusive models are manufactured by Loewe at their Kronach site.
Loewe Reference ID
The Loewe Reference ID’s superior picture is achieved through the use of Full-HD LCD
technology with LED backlighting and 400 Hz picture quality. The luminosity and high
picture frequency of these displays means they are also perfect for showing 3D content.
The integrated dual triple tuner and the CI+ interface for HDTV reception of encoded
channels ensure the devices are future-proof. Equipped with a generous 1 TB of storage
space, the hard disk recorder integrated into the TV can record both 2D and 3D content,
and stream recordings to other Loewe TVs via WLAN, LAN or Powerline. It also facilitates
time-shift TV in various different rooms. The new Loewe Reference is also equipped with
convenient, HbbTV-standard MediaText. A number of services to accompany
programmes are also available online, and are just a click of the red button away with the

emote control. These include, for example, the attractive media libraries and portals of
the respective channels.
The “red dot best of the best” award-winning Loewe Assist Media app for iPad affords the
use of an exceptional electronic programme guide (EPG), and access to detailed
information about films and programmes. It goes without saying that the Loewe
Reference ID can also be conveniently operated via the app; thus, for example, the TV
can be switched to the desired channel with just one click as soon as an interesting
programme has been found in the EPG.
It is, however, all a question of tone and for this very reason, the Loewe Reference ID is
equipped with a finely-tuned sound system. The integrated speakers which boast 160
watts of music power deliver an audio experience that is comparable to that of a concert
hall, despite the modest housing profile. It goes without saying that the Loewe Reference
ID is also equipped with an integrated multichannel decoder and AV pre-amplifier,
allowing the new Reference to become the control centre for the entire home
entertainment system. Particularly suited to provide the necessary audio support are the
new Reference R ID speakers which further complete the unique audio experience.
Loewe Reference ID will be initially available in two screen sizes, 40 and 46-inch, from
the end of the year; and in a 55-inch model from spring 2013.
