<strong>Instructions</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>activate</strong> <strong>your</strong> <strong>smartcard</strong> <strong>with</strong> <strong>your</strong> <strong>new</strong> <strong>VAST</strong> <strong>Set</strong>-<strong>Top</strong> Box<br />

(Decoder)<br />

This will enable you <strong>to</strong> view the <strong>new</strong> Rural Health Channel when we go <strong>to</strong> air<br />

on 14 th May 2012<br />

Please ensure you have already completed these steps:<br />

1) installed <strong>your</strong> <strong>new</strong> <strong>VAST</strong> set-<strong>to</strong>p box following the INSTALL & CONNECT THE DSD4121<br />

SET-TOP BOX instructions, and<br />

2) completed the <strong>Set</strong> Up Guide following the DSD4121 SETUP GUIDE instructions<br />

You then need <strong>to</strong> <strong>activate</strong> <strong>your</strong> <strong>smartcard</strong> – this is already fitted in the slot at the front, right hand<br />

side of the box.<br />

You will need access <strong>to</strong> the internet <strong>to</strong> register <strong>your</strong> <strong>smartcard</strong>. If you do not have internet access,<br />

please call our office on 1800 646 015 and we will complete the process <strong>with</strong> you.<br />

Not open<br />

Step 1. Open from the right hand side<br />

of the box revealing the slot as shown<br />

in the picture below.<br />

You will see the card in the slot.<br />

Step 2. Carefully remove the card <strong>to</strong><br />

enable you <strong>to</strong> read the number on the<br />

back.


The number is shown on the reverse of the card alongside the barcode (as shown in picture above).<br />

Step 3. Write down the number on a piece of paper<br />

Step 4. Then replace the card back in<strong>to</strong> the slot. For future reference, write this number down in a<br />

safe place.<br />

Step 5. Go <strong>to</strong> www.mysattv.com.au as shown below<br />

Step 6. Click on Satellite Decoder Online Registration<br />

This will bring up the screen below<br />

Step 6. Type <strong>your</strong> address in<strong>to</strong> the box as shown above<br />

Step 7. Click on “Looking <strong>to</strong> change <strong>to</strong> satellite”? But<strong>to</strong>n<br />

Step 8. Scroll down and at the bot<strong>to</strong>m of the screen tick “ABC & SBS application only”, then click on<br />

“Apply” (note: if you are in a <strong>VAST</strong> viewing area you will be able <strong>to</strong> choose “all services”)<br />

The next screen will be displayed as below.<br />

Step 9. Complete <strong>your</strong> details<br />

Step 10. Enter <strong>your</strong> <strong>new</strong> <strong>smartcard</strong> number in<strong>to</strong> the box labelled “1 st Smartcard number”<br />

Please tick the agreement box <strong>to</strong> continue.<br />

On the form it states: Prior <strong>to</strong> the review of <strong>your</strong> eligibility <strong>your</strong> decoder will be <strong>activate</strong>d <strong>with</strong> the ABC & SBS<br />

Channels only. Please ensure <strong>your</strong> decoder is turned on and that you can already receive Channel 800. This<br />

will ensure that you receive the activation after submitting this form.<br />

Step 11. When completed, click on “submit” at the bot<strong>to</strong>m of the screen<br />

Ensure you leave on the set <strong>to</strong>p box and the television until you receive the email below confirming<br />

the activation of <strong>your</strong> card. Within 48 hours <strong>your</strong> Television will show the ABC & SBS channels, and<br />

on 14 th May 2012 the Rural Health Channel will be available on channel 600.<br />

Subject: <strong>VAST</strong> Decoder Registration<br />

Application for: Your name<br />

Thank you for <strong>your</strong> application <strong>to</strong> receive <strong>VAST</strong> satellite television services.<br />

ABC and SBS services have been enabled on <strong>your</strong> decoder during registration processing. If there was an error<br />

during this process our staff will review <strong>your</strong> registration <strong>with</strong>in 48 hours of the next business day.<br />

Terrestrial television reception at <strong>your</strong> location is predicted <strong>to</strong> be adequate, and on this basis you are not<br />

au<strong>to</strong>matically eligible <strong>to</strong> receive commercial <strong>VAST</strong> channels.<br />

You may be eligible <strong>to</strong> be issued <strong>with</strong> a Reception Certificate which authorises commercial <strong>VAST</strong> reception and<br />

<strong>your</strong> application has been forwarded <strong>to</strong> the terrestrial commercial TV broadcasters in <strong>your</strong> area for their<br />

assessment. They will advise us in the next 15 business days if a Reception Certificate is <strong>to</strong> be issued in <strong>your</strong> case.<br />

We will then be in <strong>to</strong>uch <strong>with</strong> you again by email when we have that assessment
