Diaper Essentials and Star Diapers 24 July 2012
Diaper Essentials (http://www.diaperessentials.com) started advertising Stars Diapers around June 1.
Stars Diapers are produced by Quality Diapers (http://www.qualitydiapers.net). However, from the
pictures on the Diaper Essential site, the two products were identical and in fact, Diaper Essentials used
Quality Diapers photos to advertize the product as will be shown below.
On June 11, I placed an order for Stars Diapers and Plastic Pants as follows:
Note that they show in the ordering the option for regular as well as extra absorbency. Since the order,
they have eliminated that option as seen on the current web-page:
http://www.diaperessentials.com/Star-Disposable-Bedwetting-Diapers-p/star-dbwd.htm
They have also changed from a 5 pack to a 10 pack option since the order.
I enquired why the $100 free shipping discount did not show up and they subsequently modified my
order to accomplish the free shipping. In the fine-print on free shipping, they state that they may take
30 days to ship.

Diaper Essentials offered also a GoodNites Pull-ups for adults and the pictures advertise a design that
was likely 2 years old but they claimed it was the GoodNites design. I ordered those a few days later. On
June 22, they notified me that they shipped BOTH Orders. It was delivered on 06/29/2012 at 8:54 A.M.
The weight was not consistent both orders being shipped together and when I actually received the
shipment, only the second order of the GoodNites was included.
I asked them what happened and they never fully answered but on July 12, they finally shipped the Star
order and it was delivered on July 19.
There was no packing list and no differentiation of the extra absorbency diapers from the regular,
because they apparently discontinued that option without informing me. There were no Star Plastic
Pants in the order either.
Now the real surprise! What they shipped were not as advertized. The following is a screen-shot of the
product they advertized as of today:
Figure 1 - Screen Grab of Ordering Page for Diaper Essentials’ version of the Star Diaper

Below is what they actually shipped side-by-side with the real product:
Figure 2 - Imitation Stars from Diaper Essentials on Left. Real Star Diaper from Quality Diapers on
Right.
The construction is also totally different and inferior as is documented below. It should be noted that
the thickness of the absorbent layer in the Diaper Essential Diaper is less consistent that the real Star
Diaper and does not look like it adheres well to the diaper itself.

Figure 3- Inside View of Diaper Essential Diaper. Front is to the Tight. Note that there is NO absorbent
area extending out into the wings. Note also, that while the website talks about 4 tapes, only 2 are on
these diapers.
Figure 4 - Inside view of real Star Diaper. Note the 4 tabs on the left and the way the absorbent area
extends out into the wings.

When I asked to return the product for a total refund, Diaper Essentials stated that: Please note Refunds
are contingent upon inspection of item(s) once we receive it. There is a 15% restocking fee for returned
items , also an added 15% repackaging fee if item has been opened. we also do not refund shipping
costs. If shipping was free or the return reduces the order to less than the free shipping amount, then
actual shipping on the original order will be deducted from the refunded return.

I told them that that was 100% unacceptable and that they had not shipped the Plastic Pants in the
order and had not included a packing list to show that they had (or had not). They have not responded
to that.
They have deactivated my account to grab the order information and status. Moreover, they have used
my name to rate the Stars Diapers as very good. This was done on July 11, a day BEFORE they shipped
the product. It is really hard for you to rate a product if you have not seen it!
The only good thing that has come out of this is that they have removed the direct link from the product
finder for the Stars Plastic Pants, Stars Diapers, and Adult Goodnites. However, if you know the links,
you can still find the products on the website. But a casual browser cannot.
