The 282,700-square-foot Integrated Facility Reinforces <strong>FedEx</strong> Network Development in<br />
Southeast Asia<br />
SINGAPORE, April 28, 2011—<strong>FedEx</strong> <strong>Express</strong>, a subsidiary of <strong>FedEx</strong> Corp. (NYSE:<br />
FDX) and the world's largest express transportation company, is building a new <strong>FedEx</strong><br />
<strong>Singapore</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>Hub</strong> within the Air Cargo <strong>Express</strong> (ACE) <strong>Hub</strong> at <strong>Singapore</strong> Changi<br />
Airport. The facility will enhance <strong>Singapore</strong>’s access <strong>to</strong> global markets for <strong>FedEx</strong> cus<strong>to</strong>mers<br />
and support <strong>Singapore</strong>’s aim <strong>to</strong> be a leading air cargo hub in the region.<br />
The 282,700-square-foot integrated <strong>FedEx</strong> operating facility is the second largest<br />
<strong>FedEx</strong> facility in Asia Pacific. Slated for completion in the second half of 2012, the <strong>FedEx</strong><br />
<strong>Singapore</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>Hub</strong> will house <strong>FedEx</strong> delivery, pick-up and air operations under one<br />
roof. The facility is strategically located beside the Airport Logistics Park of <strong>Singapore</strong> and<br />
within Changi Airport’s free trade zone.<br />
“The launch of this project reinforces our long-term commitment <strong>to</strong> <strong>Singapore</strong>, where<br />
we already have a significant presence with our South Pacific headquarters, Asia Pacific<br />
Data Centre and Asia Pacific Financial Service Centre,” said Mr David Ross, regional vice<br />
president, <strong>FedEx</strong> <strong>Express</strong> South Pacific. “The new facility will strengthen <strong>FedEx</strong> operations<br />
in <strong>Singapore</strong> and is designed <strong>to</strong> provide our cus<strong>to</strong>mers with greater, faster and more reliable<br />
access <strong>to</strong> regional and global trade opportunities.”<br />
Changi Airport Group's Executive Vice President, Air <strong>Hub</strong> Development, Mr Yam<br />
Kum Weng, said, “We are delighted <strong>to</strong> partner <strong>FedEx</strong> in the development of this first phase<br />
of the new Air Cargo <strong>Express</strong> (ACE) <strong>Hub</strong> at <strong>Singapore</strong> Changi Airport. This unique air cargo<br />
express infrastructure will enhance Changi’s cargo competitiveness and reflects our<br />
commitment <strong>to</strong> support our partners in their business growth at Changi. We believe the ACE<br />
<strong>Hub</strong> will also enable <strong>FedEx</strong> <strong>to</strong> expand its regional operations in <strong>Singapore</strong> and <strong>to</strong> capitalise<br />
on long-term growth opportunities from increasing intra-Asia trade."<br />
The <strong>FedEx</strong> <strong>Singapore</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>Hub</strong> will boast a 5-belt sort system with capacity <strong>to</strong><br />
sort up <strong>to</strong> 9,000 packages per hour and house more than 250 delivery vans. It will also<br />
include airside infrastructure including two new aircraft parking bays as well as a special onsite<br />
facilitation by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority and <strong>Singapore</strong> Cus<strong>to</strong>ms for<br />
efficient cargo clearance.
