experienced in designing fashion-forward, commercially successful womenswear. A versatile,
flexible team player, having worked on an array of product categories for various fashion
brands at a range of market levels internationally. A social, creative person who thrives on

Work Experience
Hilfiger Denim Womenswear Designer Dec ‘10 – Jul ‘12
Responsible for Dresses, Skirts and Woven tops, role encompasses:
* Researching trends through travelling on inspiration trips, internal sources, WGSN, trade
fairs, comp shopping, extensive blog researching and keeping up on all that’s new in design
and fashion.
* Creating moodboards, interpreting new trends to suit the brand and developing seasonal
concepts.
* Sketching, creating mock-ups, and presenting ideas, communicating these to developers
and merchandisers, as well as liasing with vendors on hand-over production trips to HK, India
and Turkey, and fitting throughout development and production.
* Sourcing and designing new fabrics and trims for development
* Establishing a balanced range, making collection overviews.
* Creating and recolouring graphics, allover prints, checks and stripes
Previously responsible for the American Essentials and Quick Response lines, which cover
the core range of margin-driven, high quality and detailed bestseller items, and the more
fashion-forward capsule collection of catwalk inspired items with a shorter leadtime.
Tommy Hilfiger Childrenswear Girlswear Designer Apr ’09 – Dec ‘10
Responsible for all woven, knit and sweater dresses, skirts, woven tops, sweaters, knit
bottoms and underwear for the award-winning girls childrenswear collection (age 1-16) and
bringing them to the global market. Very hands-on role including writing concept reports and
developing sales presentations and sales books.
Co-designed the Newborn range and followed through to production. Previously
responsible for the whole Toddler Girls range (age 1-7). This experience has provided a
desire and ability to achieve the highest quality garments, while considering cost, and pushing
for fresh, innovative styles and rich, new details and silhouettes that appeal to the consumer
and compliment the brand image. The added constraints of designing within legal child safety
regulations, and grading challenges were also met.
Abercrombie & Fitch Womenswear Assistant Designer Oct ’07 – Oct ‘08
Assistant Designer: Fleece, Bare and Non-bare Knit Tops, and Dresses. The role
encompassed trend research, sketching, creating mock-ups, fitting, developing new fabrics
and trims, and creating new, cool, sexy styles, with a great fit and luxuriously soft handfeel.
Quality was of utmost importance, ensuring all colours and trims matched, and the correct
wash achieved in order to create an effortless, loveworn look. The style of the collections
possessed masculine-feminine tension which was a common thread that ran through all A&F
products, though knit tops also provided an opportunity to work on the items that carried the
majority of the femininity and fashion-forward element of the line. Implemented new details to

American Eagle Outfitters Womenswear Design Intern Jan ’06 – Jul ‘06
6 month internship with womenswear cut & sew knit design team in NYC. Involved in all
aspects including trend research, compshopping, sketching new styles, preparing for
presentations and fashion shows, fittings and communicating with vendors.
Mexx Womenswear Design Intern Jul ’05 – Nov ‘05
4 Month internship with XX by Mexx Design Team as general design assistant for designers
across all product categories, helping to identify and interpret trends to develop new ranges,
as well as sketching new styles.
Monique Collignon Couture Atelier Assistant Aug ’04 – Nov ‘05
4 Month internship with Haute Couture designer in Amsterdam, fitting with clients,
communicating their wishes to the designer in her absence, helping pattern cutting,
producing/constructing/sewing trims and garments and assisting in the running of the Fall ‘04
Fashion Show in Monaco.
Education and Academic Qualifications
BA ‘Product Design and Development for the Fashion Industry’: Bachelors Degree from
London College of Fashion. Four year course, including one year of industrial placement,
graduated July ‘07.
